    • +2

      • +1

I just hired a 75kg compactor with reverse for $61 for 24 hours.

I'll just buy a new one for $439, use it for a month and sell on eBay for $350

  • Thanks - perfect timing. I was going to hire some stuff from them over the Christmas break. You just saved me $50 :)

  • This is going to get Ozhammered.

Need to clear a bit of dirt so might get me a trailer for a couple of days.
Normally I just get myself a 3m length of 90 x 45 pine from buntings or masters and get the courtesy trailer but the garage is full of timber at the moment with nothing to build.

    • +6

      build a trailer perhaps?

    • +3

When I need the courtesy trailer I buy the timber then return it when I take the trailer back :)

There is/was a similar $50 voucher going around which you received for filling in a survey after hiring equipment from them; it was advertised on the counter when I hired from them last week, so you might get lucky with that one also… if you remember to write down the URL unlike me :)

  • Great timing! Needed to hire a rotary hoe to help prepare laying new turf. Thanks!

    • +5

Fortunately, Kennards have hoes in different area codes.

This couldn't have been any better timed for us / me! +100 if I could.

  • Can we use this for Kennards storage ?

    • +3

No, storage is a separate company owned by one of the sons.

If you aren't into DIY, another idea is using it as a discounted 2-day car rental.

    • Good idea, didn't realise they had utes. However I'm after the caged utes as I have alot of rubbish to take to the dump…

      • They should have caged trailers. These are cheaper than hiring a ute. Otherwise a 1-day car hire + trailer hire should make this promo eligible as its enough to go over the $95.

Depending how much you have it might work out better for you to hire a mini skip. Gets dumped on your driveway, you fill it and they pick it up when you're ready. Will cost a little more but if you have that much to get rid of you will be cutting the workload in half.

  • Seems like they don't have a branch in Hobart.. which is weird as someone at bunnings suggested hiring a breaker from there the other day

  • Has anyone hired their vans to have any idea of what they charge for them?

  • Karcher carpet shampooer $50 per day or $200 per week. Consumables (shampoo) are $11 for 9 tablets.

Thanks OP! Just used this for a 24hr ute hire. Cleaned out all the old stuff from my house and made three trips to the tip. All it ended up costing me was a day and $55. Legend :-)
