No IMEI, No Problem!

This is because we don’t use third party activation portals, we activate via T-Mobile themselves. This means your card is preactivated for any date before January 1st 2016 through the most reliable source available, T Mobile themselves. Anyone who asks for an IMEI is using a third party to activate, and sometimes issues can arise from this. We don’t and this works out easier for all. Keep your private information in your own hands and avoid sharing this information where it is not needed!

When Does The SIM Card Have To Be Activated By?

Haha how embarassing for us! Have no idea why the site went back to that. Fixed! We guarantee to never blunder our best price guarantee from here on!

  • Rep, interested in NZ VF sim. My phone is not 700Mhz compatible, only 1800MHz. What's VF's rollout plans over there? Is 700MHz taking over, or Will 1800MHz be sufficient?

  • I'm needing about 2 and half months worth of phone coverage in America. Can I buy two months for $40 each?

    • Yeah of course you can mate! We will activate one for your arrival date and the second one for 30 days after arrival so you get 60 days between the two sims!

  • +1

Sorry Op I'm a little confused here..

You make mention of the following:
T-Mobile Prepaid 3GB SIM Card which retails for about $92AUD ($60USD for the 30 credit plan + $10 additional for international calls + $10 for cost of SIM Card = $80USD or roughly $92AUD!) This one is going out the door for $40AUD (including regular postage).

Then go on to state the following:
What’s Preloaded In The USA T-Mobile Card?
Unlimited Local Calls To USA Landlines & Mobiles & SMS within USA
Unlimited International Calls to Landlines in Over 75 Countries – Inc. Aussie Home Phones
Unlimited International SMS to Over 200 Countries – Inc. Aussie Mobiles
Unlimited 4G Data On Your Mobile
BONUS Unlimited International Calls to Mobiles in Over 30 Countries!!!! Valued at another $5USD added for free for all

    Followed by:
    Plus Enjoy These Features
Mobile Hotspot and Tethering (Limited to 5GB but Will Remain Unlimited on Your Phone Even If You Use The Tethering Limit).
Nationwide Coverage Across The United States, Including Hawaii
No Extra Charges to Receive Calls or Text from Overseas

I think these are 3 different products on your site?
Ie - The first one is a $40 one data only SIM with 3GB
The second one is $80 one?
The third one is the $55 one?

Sorry but I'm totally confused :-/

    • Hi ezza, sorry about that! Cleared it up about. This deal is for the 3GB of 4G data then unlimited for 2G speeds.
Sorry about that description error. Hope that clears it up.

      • I think you need to update the description

        • Done. Thanks for your help!

        • @TravelSIMSDirect:

You updated them? Theres still only reference to a $40 3bg plan, then goes onto state unlimited calls etc in the US.

I think you need to clearly list them here, ie:
          $40 plans get xyz
          $50 plans get xyz
          $55 plans get xyz

Anyways maybe I can't make sense of it, but it looks like you mished and mashed part of it together which all sound like its included in the $40 plan..

        • @ezza: Hi ezza, lets try and clear this up a little bit.

All the USA cards on our site come with the Unlimited Calls and Text stated about. The difference in each card is how much 4G speed data is included. So this deal is for the 3GB @ 4G speeds.

Our other cards are at our regular price, hence why we haven't referenced them here.

          Hope that helps and apologies!

        • @TravelSIMSDirect:

Sure i'm still confused… i'm interested in buying but lost.

I think where I'm lost is that you have these odd calculations in your post, then only mention your $40 SIM, but theres others that can be selected on your site.. not to mention a 5gb data only SIM. I personally would have suggested listing them all on here, that way theres no confusion.

          I rest my case

        • @ezza: Thanks for your feedback ezza. We will take it on board and aim to make any other deals we do clearer in regard to this concern.

  • any deal for Japan?16 days

    • Not at the moment mate, but we will sooner or later!

  • Only US or New Zealand??
If you're not making calls, Simcorner's 3 broadband roaming appears to have USA plus a bonus 16 countries, no throttling & 25 gigabytes.

    • Each sim has plenty of call credit overseas! Please re-read the description!

      • Yair I suppose. I believe Skype offers a better fit though, for on-the-go: HD voice & does more.

        • +2

The good thing is the 3GB of 4G data lets you use Skype on your holiday. No Data No Skype sadly.

  • how about a deal for a USA Sim for March / April USA please rep.

    • Hey mate, this deal can be used in March/April. All you have to do is give us your arrival date into the USA.
If you haven't booked a date yet you can order and email us as soon as you know when you will be arriving into the States. Alternatively, look out for us in March/April, as we always have the best prices anyway!

  • Thanks OP, that's my sim card for the US sorted :)
If any ones interested, T-Mobile Pre-paid rates here:
    http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans

Cheaper than buying in the US.

    • Our pleasure! Happy to help mate.

  • Hi Rep,

Im about to pull the Trigger on your USA Unlimited sim for $40 (2 of them) It is Unlimited Data right?

edit: how slow is 2G speeds realistically?

    • 2G speeds are good for general browsing. Streaming videos ect. it isn't very suitable for most people.

With that said 3GB of 4G is a lot of data!

      • thanks, when is this offer open to?

        Im travelling in late Feb?

        • This deal is open for a few more days. Though you can buy now, provide your travel dates and we will preactivate so the card you buy this week will be valid during your holiday in Feb.

      Thanks.

  • I am travelling tomorrow, can i book one and pick it up in LA if i provide an address?

    • Hi dcnguyen82,
Unfortunately we are solely Australia based and do not ship into the USA.
We are in Melbourne however. If you are based in Melbourne we can organise something tonight.
      Thanks.

  • Just checked out your site. How come this one is a deal? If, for the same price, I can get the SIM with the unlimited data on 4G (not just 3GB). Am I missing something?

    • Hi PriNceSs_An,
You are correct you can get the Unlimited 4G data at the ridiculously low price of $40! RRP in the United States for the Unlimited sim is $100USD or $120AUD.
We had a sale on the 3GB card bringing it down to $40 earlier today!
But to honour our "Best Price Guarantee" we have temporarily brought down the price of the Unlimited 4G card to $40 in the last couple of hours (it has never been this cheap in Australia before).
So by all means take advantage and grab this bargain :)

      • I would buy for 4G +unmetered, if it worked here, like Three UK's mentioned above. Sadly in AUs we have ALL fatty boombas and have not got to the 66% discount stage as yet - insufficient competitive pressure. Such is life. 25GB is pretty close to unmetered— works down here, seventeen countries +inbound, +calls out to Untd Kgdm. 3G only, VPN recommended.

      • Done! Im in!

But if I nominate a date, does that lock it in now? ie what happens if you change to an earlier flight?

        • Hi GLO,
No it isn't set in stone. But if your arrival date into the USA changes all you have to do is contact us through the site and let us know of the new date and we will take care of it for you!

  • Stupid question for the store rep, I am on exchange in the states from 30 December through to the end of June. Can I purchase multiple of these and use them each month. In addition, would I be able to keep the same number? Thanks!

    • Hi fifafan94!
There is no such thing a stupid question my friend. You can buy multiple ones - what we would do is preactivate each one 30 days apart from one another for you.
Unfortunately it is impossible to keep the same phone number on different SIMS. The only way to do so would be to recharge $90USD each month when in the States. Over 6 months if you did it with multiple cards with our current deal you would save yourself roughly $300USD.
It is a little less convenient swapping SIMS each month because of this but it is a whole lot cheaper!
Have fun on your exchange trip!

  • Bought an unlimited one!
Just one question, why the seller in the Paypal email is "Roaming Abroad Proprietary Limited"?

    • +1

      Hi Chirsy Rob,
That is our parent company, that we do most of our trading through. Travel SIMS Direct is the wholesale branch of our business, Roaming Abroad Pty. Ltd.
Roaming Abroad is not unknown to OzBargainers, we have done deals with very different products before.

  • I needed two months while i am in the USA from the 22nd Jan, so I bought two sims with the start date on one as 22/01 and the other as 22/02. I hope that's right?

How long will shipping take? I hope I get it before the 22nd Jan

  • I step_hen,
Came through perfect. Will be shipped today, with all the public holidays coming up will be a little longer than usually but should get to you well before 22nd of January still!
    Thanks

    • Thanks for your reply!

    • Hi Rep,
Just bought a T mobile 40$ Unlimited SIM card. :)
Hopefully all goes well while I am in USA.
Just for confirmation , this sim card will work in all states of USA.
And would you kindly provide a direct link to the T&C page of this sim card?
the link provided on your webpage for that sim card does not seem to work.
Is it possible to get an estimated delivery date?

  • Rep can you please confirm when these were sent. I purchased on 20 December for a 30 December departure.

    • HI fifafan94,

Can you please email us via our website with your paypal receipt number. And we will find out the info for you. Cheers

      • Done, cheers.

  • I bought two Travel Sim cards, one for activation 18 January, and one for activation 27 January for someone else. Just arrived and the former SIM card should now be active but it's not, it has no phone number and no credit. T mobile have no idea as it's up to the Rep.

Very disappointing. Sent the Rep a PM and email on their site.

@TravelSIMSDirect. Please fix this asap and ensure the second SIM doesn't have the same problem.

    • err… your situation makes me concerned now.
As I have already bought one sim to be activated on 15th of march.
This sim card is pretty crucial my trip and needs to be activated when I land in LA.

Did you hear back from REP yet?

      • Apparently some delays on T-Mobile's end and the activation was supposed to have happened by today. Still waiting. Will try restarting my phone and seeing what happens.

Wondering whether anyone has had these issues before and if so, how long or just how in general they had them resolved.

        • This issue is still not resolved and we're now two days on. Because I've been urgently in need of a phone whilst away, I've recharged my SIM card separately, which cost $80 but has worked! This seems to indicate the T-Mobile system is okay, because it's the same SIM, activated on a separate number.

Asked for a refund from the seller for this first SIM. Extremely painful situation.

Hoping they can resolve the issue before I need my second SIM! I'm planning a contingency in case of further failure- either with a $30 Wal-Mart SIM or one of the newer recently announced T-Mobile prepaid plans.

        • @RockDJ:

According to the Rep here via PM, this "does happen time to time" when the activation fails. This needs to be crystal clear on their site so people can know what to do when this happens, and/or make an informed decision whether to buy the product and have a contingency process in place.
