have to buy hosting, not a bargain or freebie.

    • … It is a free year of hosting, I've just done it myself..

      • -3

so this thread should be titled FREE DOMAIN WITH HOSTING PURCHASE OF FOUR DOLLARS A MONTH OR MORE!!!!

        but it isn't. it's shit.

        • Did you use the code…? It's free domain AND free hosting.

    • -2

      it's not good then

  • yep Gecko is right its a free year of hosting with a Free Domain.
Doing a quick Google search shows JustHost to be pretty good.

Note: They still require credit card details.

Good deal though! Gonna sign up tmr morning

  • Do they retain any rights to the domain name?? If the hosting turns out to be unsatisfactory I'd like to be able to switch registrars and hosting providers easily without any trouble.

By signing up for this offer i dont think we have the rights for the Domain Name, until we pay the $20 registration fee charge. This is from the Terms and Conditions:

"And here is how our cancellation policy works. It is very simple. If you cancel your account we will provide you with a full refund for the remainder of your term, excluding any setup fees that were charged when you signed up, and excluding domain registration fees. (Even if you received your domain for free through one of our promotional plans)

The domain registration fee we incur on each domain registration is $20.00. So all refunds are subject to a $20.00 registration fee charge, but you will own the domain name afterwards. The only way to cancel your account is by emailing our billing team at billing [at] justhost.com"

I would say never ever use JustHost. They are the worst managed hosting company I have ever used…and I've used a few.

Last year they had a Hard drive fault on one of their entire servers, with all of my websites contained within, the hosting was down for 4 days. No emails, nothing.

They didn't even let me know until I called their datacentre (which is answered in India) and they explained there would be an intermittent fault, I later found out from a tech that they had suffered severe data loss but the backups will be put back on later.

Two days later and the backups were put on, which they pointed out were taken 3 days prior to the outage, this wasn't the case…the backups were 4 months old! I had to spend the next 2 days putting all my sites back on, setup all the email accounts and get everything finally back in order.

JustHost, never again, poor customer service, huge downtime and overall very poor.

Also don't believe the reviews as JustHost actually own/run some of the hosting review sites, if you want real reviews check hosting forums: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/

  • What happens if Justhost go under whilst they own the domain name? Would seem to me that you would loose the domain as you don't own it.

  • I'm a bit worried about giving CC details out, will wait for more verification..:)

  • can you use a prepaid visa

  • just registered a domain name & hosting for a year for FREE!

Need to enter coupon code & CC (hopefully nothing goes wrong). Then instantly, got a call to confirm the account details - said all done. Will stick at least for a year and see how it goes. Great deal for me :)

  • entered CC and coupon code. Still waiting for code though. Put in my landline instead of mobile — maybe they got confused with the area code and such =/

  • good deal, worked for me

  • despite being unable to complete any order on the site,

You:keeps saying "we're sorry, customers may only register one hosting account"

You:can you fix it so i can complete it

    You:cheers

Lauren Says:Hi my name is Lauren thanks for visiting Just Host today!

    • same prob for me too…unable to register for free domain & web hosting…

  • found this: http://www.templatemonster.com/presentations/justhost_promo.…
no sure if they will check your TemplateMonster client status

  • Please dont waste time with them.

    Theyre being ridiculous.

After several attempts, I signed up with them n now they send the following email

Thank you for your web hosting order with us.

We require some further verification regarding your order due to our increased security measures on our credit card orders. We do apologise that sometimes legitimate cards get flagged up for this, but it is a necessary procedure.

Please could you email us a copy of the front of the credit card (please mask any of the details that you wish to except the name and last 4 digits of the card number) and the card holder's passport or driving license to confirm identity. Please email this to us as soon as you can so that we can finalise your order.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, please understand this is for your safety. For further information please visit: http://www.justhost.com/identity-verification.

  • I've talked to them twice through their online system and corresponded many times through email to try and get my application to go through.

Each time i've been told they will contact me prompty, and each time nothing happens.

I was happy to begin with to receive free hosting, but now i'm starting to doubt if i even want free hosting with a company that ignores its customers.

Very very disappointed with justhost customer support.
