Canon Ixus 145 $19 - after $20 Cashback @ Kmart - Check Stock

1000

Was today at my local Kmart for some other things when i saw the Canon Ixus 145 for $39.- on clearance. At this price i had to buy it, at home after trying to find some reviews i noticed that there is a $20.- cashback from Canon on it so it turns out to cost me $19.-

I asked the store employee and she told me that other stores have stock too but please check before going there if stock available, don't mention the price. I have uploaded the invoice so you can price match it if they have some higher price or if you want to to go to HN, TGG, DS, JB and so on…

Enjoy the camera, really awesome for that money and reviews are pretty good too.

        Who?

Why the heck is everyone negging me? Obviously it was a joke, if i didn't want to share i wouldn't have posted the deal in the first place.

        • +3

You simply dont joke about bargain

          Insert meme here…

Boxing day sales were disappointing so they are venting their anger onto you :)

      • I knew it…. Sneaky-Cheeky Kmart Staff

    • did they clarify it through email?
I felt a bit insecure because they didn't in any form acknowledge the cashback
Tried to check canon account about the cashback confirmation, couldn't find any

    • Anyone received their cash back yet after approval ? Mine was approved last week Monday and yet no money in account.

  • +2

Kmart is not on the authorised reseller list.I reckon no $20 cashback!

    • Anyone can confirm this?

      • That is wrong!

        • +5

          The T&C clearly state:

          1. An “Eligible Purchase” is a Participant’s purchase of any new (not pre-owned) Eligible Product listed in clause 7 during the Purchase Period from Canon Australia’s online store or from an authorised Canon Australia retailer in the Canon Australia Distribution Channel.

A list of retailers is linked from the main Cashback page:

…purchase one of the cameras below at a participating Authorised Canon Reseller or through the Canon online store…

Searching this list, Kmart does not appear.

Large retailers that do appear: Big W, Bing Lee, David Jones, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Myer, Officeworks, Retravision, The Good Guys.

One would think Kmart would buy their Canon stock through the 'Canon Australia Distribution Channel', but it is not immediately clear if purchases from Kmart are an "Eligible Purchase".

    • Thanks for the warning. I was just about to go to KMart. Canon don't list KMart for any suburb. But I hope the OP gets his $20.

      • +1

You need to select 'Other' then wait for the list to load, then manually type in 'Kmart' not KMART, then you are ale to select a store and postcode.

Im optimistic but also think it would be poor form from Canon if no cashback was given, especially since Target is on the list and is owned by the same parent company of Kmart; Wesfarmers.

        • I'm sorry but I just can't make that happen. At the Canon Double Cashback page, I click on Authorised Canon Reseller. Under "Locate a Dealer" I see Service Type, Product Category, Sub-Category, and Postcode. For Service Type I select Sales. For Product Category, I previously selected Cameras, but this is the only area where I can attempt following your advice by selecting Other. Having done that, I have tried several Sub-Categories, none of which seem relevant. But the only place I can actually type anything is at Postcode, and no matter how I type Kmart, it gets me nowhere.

        • @PJC: Damn. Where are you located? Mine worked for
          Kmart
          Postcode 3043

    • +2

I just got price match with David Jones.
      Bought 4 x $39 = $156
Combined with Amex offer spend $150 get $30 back.

$126 - $80 cash back which leaves me with $11.50 per unit.

      Bingo bargain !!

You did get four separate receipts for each camera?

11 Participants can submit more than one claim provided that each claim is made on the basis of a separate transaction with a separate receipt, and is otherwise made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

        • I am still a bit annoyed of this clause to have separate receipts for each. Will be calling canon to clarify this. If it comes down to that, then will get a refund/ store credit and swipe them all again seprately.

DJ is literally 2 min drive from my place. So no hassle as such.

        • +1

@nzthunderboy: Hopefully they are cool about it for small quantities, and it's just to deter Broden and other mass-resellers from abusing the cashback promo.

        • @Thrift:

Good news, just spoke with canon promotions team on that 1800 number. They said I can submit same receipt 4 times for each claim.

        • I just rang Canon today and they said that each camera must be on a separate invoice/receipt to enable cashback. I have to go back to the retailer for 8 invoices/receipts to claim.

        • @he88388:

My claim got approved yesterday!! It was a one off as the lady said it needs to be separate receipts in future.

      • -1

        why would u want them?

mobile phones killed this snapshot market, and are just more practical all round.

        • +2

for $11.50 i dont mind buying them as "glorified gifts"

  • Anyone go to Kmart at Toowong Brisbane? Oh, this will be really great for a gift.

  • +2

How about some pluses now? ;)

Here the submitted claim and Kmart is not a problem.

    • +3

It says that the claim still has to be processed. Let us know if they approve the claim. Thanks.

    • did they clarify it through email?
I felt a bit insecure because they didn't in any form acknowledge the cashback
Tried to check canon account about the cashback confirmation, couldn't find any

  • So what am I supposed to do now with my 4 year old IXUS?

    • +2

Gift it to a young budding photographer

    • +2

      throw it out. no, seriously.

I bought a gas bottle off a random on scumtree and the person literally gave me an IXUS. It even had the box, + all accs. He tried to sell it in his garage sale for $5 and no one wanted it.

It is literally worth sweet F all.

      • Hmm someone bought it from me on Gumtree for $20 including two SD cards. Now I feel a little guilty.

  • +2

The price is irresistibly good, it is a steal.. However I guess nowadays the downside of using a camera instead of a phones camera is the SD cards, the connection to computer (i rarely turn on laptop these days, just tablets), the charge of battery.. Its interesting because just 10 years ago i laughed when nokia started putting cameras on their phones, now i'm laughing at my younger self

    • +1

Even an entry-level digicam like this is far better than the ones in a phone. (some exceptions, e.g. samsung zoom and nokia 1020)

Its a shame that this camera lacks image stabilisation, with even some phones have now.

  • I remember my first ixus

    • +2

Me too, I think it was $900 and 2 megapixels. Ouch.

  • +2

Kmart @kurralta park SA has plenty of stocks $39.

  • Westfield garden city Brisbane still plenty of stock about 15pcs at 10am.

  • Kmart Lake Haven has stock.

  • Wife just picked one up from Erina NSW for $39
    Black only

  • +2

Kmart Tuggeranong seem to have stock in the back room. The empty box that they have on the shelf lists the camera at $79 but it does scan up at $39

  • Picked up two today one for a family member coming to visit and one for wife, family member will probably have no use of the cash back so I'm claiming for them both to make the deal even more sweet.
But I may have messed up as I maybe should have purchased them in two transactions to maybe get the two $20 cash backs.
I have submitted the claim for the two and see what comes of it as a little confused on there terms.
But at the time I seen no point in buying them both on seperate receipts but maybe I should have?
To be honest I see no reason why they should refuse as in buying the one or two each should qualify for each cashback??

      • +1

Thank you for registering your details.

Congratulations, you’re one step closer to receiving your cashback.

The Canon promotions team will now review your claim. If we require anything else in order to process your claim we’ll email you shortly otherwise please allow up to 30 days to receive your cashback.

If you have any questions regarding your claim, please contact the support team on 1800 722 229 or email us at [email protected].

    • The terms do state you can only claim one item per receipt. Hopefully they are cool about it.

10 Where two or more Eligible Products are purchased in the same transaction, the Cashback or Double Cashback (as the case may be) will be applied to the Eligible Product with the highest cost.
11 Participants can submit more than one claim provided that each claim is made on the basis of a separate transaction with a separate receipt, and is otherwise made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

  • What is the cannon cashback email one on the claim comes up not valid email and returns failed?

  • Kmart Airport West VIC has approx. 5 in stock.

  • Kmart Carousel WA had 2-3 left

  • Don't understand the t&c to be honest I'm taking two purchased on same receipt will be cashback for each one as for that email does not work for me.

    • The t&c (#10 and #11) state you get one cashback per receipt on the item with the highest cashback, and if you want to get cashback on multiple items, they need to be separate transactions with separate receipts.

  • picked up 2, thanx OP.
I asked for 2 seperate dockets to avoid any drama with the cashback.
Kmart Northland got heaps of stock but only in black color.

  • +1

I picked one up, but found the camera to be very basic. quality of pictures is not really good. But for $39 and if cashback is received , $19, I can't really find a camera this good for 19 bucks…

Don't expect it to perform like a $199 camera. This is a basic point and shoot, with no additional features type of camera.

  • Nightmare wished I had thought of this before buying the two looks like I have done myself out of $20 on one of these on the cashback.

  • I found stock at jb HiFi n David jones cbd, but they refuse to do price match

  • Hardly Normal City West (Perth) have just done price match for me (x2).

  • No CHKD :(

  • 3 left at Chadstone this evening

  • Just bought 2, I'm worried whether I can get the cashback or not. I will confirm on Monday

  • +1

Got one at New Town - Tasmania. Unfortunately the image quality is below average. I've had 3 IXUS camera's before (IXUS 50, IXY 55 and IXUS 500) and this one has a very painterly look to the images and is pixel smearing. All modern compact cameras seem to be this way now that they have such a high megapixel count. I'll probably take it back on Monday or sell it on. It's a shame there isn't a current CHDK for it since that's what I was going to use it for in the future to do time lapse photography.

    • +1

It's potentially $19 mate; chill. If it is good enough to keep as a travel backup camera or even a 'practice camera' for my 5yo, then I'm happy.

      • +2

This is exactly what i did,, my 4.5Yr old kid now learning everything by him self ,, faster than me.. :)

just confirmed with Canon Cashback team, Kmark is ok. Just need to select "Other" and type in "kmart". she mentioned everybody rang this morning and ask whether kmart is eligible, the answer is YES.

have fun, guys and thank op

    • This is looking like a real bargain if your confirmation is spot on! Thanks for the follow up to all of us on the edge of our seats! I'd think it would be great if Canon sent a generic confirmation email out to all successful applicants.

  • does anyone have a catalogue scan/link for me to use for price match?

  • I got 2 , both my claim have been validated, now just need to wait to receive the 20$ gift. Such a steal

  • I got one today at Redbank QLD. My 4 year old loves it. It's easy for him to use.

    • Any left?

      • They had some yesterday. The sign says $79 but they scan up at $39.

  • Anyone also having problems uploading the receipt to the canon site?

sorted. it worked with chrome browser.

  • Broden busy on eBay selling his unwanted gifts and prizes.

  • Bought 2 then changed my mind to bought another one.
I saw there was one left when I bought 2 of them.
    5 minute later it's gone.
The lady told me that only the staff know that the camera price is $ 39
And all of the 6 camera were bought by their ownstaff

    • Sneaky staff pocketing all the good deals…

  • I went to my store when this deal was first posted at 7am and saw one under the counter asked if they had another and yes so hot two.
I'm not sure if at the time if they knew about the deal or how many was left but was happy to get the two,but they was on one receipt and worried I just get one cashback.
But they confirmed I get cashback for each one which is a boost.
One was given to mother for a gift and other wife but I'm hearing they might not be good,I have a cannon but not sure which model as can't find the thing.
It is an older model now but did cost more than this one.are they that bad or are you guys that think they are crap used to mega great cameras
