Lol reminds me of the "big gaming clearnance" DSE sale a while back! Any pictures of how many units they have in stock OP?

    • -1

Nothing wrong with clearing out a handful of units cheap

..it's advertising it as the best thing ever and letting your staff steal all the good stuff that gets people butthurt :P

  • $100 with kinect is of pretty good value i reckon…

  • I'm gonna assume less than 10 available…

not sure if you can do it to the 4GB model as they might not have a hdd slot? might need to use USB?

    • Has a slot for it. It's the same console as the 250 with a 4gb chip soldered somewhere.

    • Had a 4GB model. USB slot at the back for thumb drive. Some games do require a HDD to play eg need for speed - rivals, so recently bought a 60G HDD and shuffled into it. On EBay around $40.

  • Any chance of Kmart in Melbourne clearing these 360 slim models also?

They're very hard to find these days.

    • Update: Called around 10 Kmart's in Melbourne and they don't have any 360's at all, let alone the slim version.

  • Does the 360 have Skype? What's been the cheapest so far for the Xbox One with Kinect bundles?

  • They still have some of the 4GB in stock. I just called to reserve one.

  • My friend bought one from Kmart Kurralta park and when he tried register it, microsoft website said that the xbox is out of warrantly based on its serial number. Might be a one off issue, but it is a good idea to check.

    • consumer law would trump that wouldnt it?

      • Yes.

It would mean you have your Australian Consumer Law rights, but no additional benefits from anything the manufacturer might ordinarily add on top.

        • He returned it but Kmart has not given a refund yet. Kmart guys told him that they will speak to Microsoft and try to arrange warranty (which he is after).

        • @quiteguy: the Kmart guys were probably playing it out the back

      • Indeed. Proof of purchase by your friend (get them to hold on to receipt; better yet- scan it) and it'll trump whatever records Microsoft might have.

Seems like a good price with the kinect. I got mine for $69 boxing day 2013 with 2 games and this is the closest to that deal I've seen.

I can't believe no one can tell me if this really got Skype. I Googled and everything but no definitive answer.

      • Presently you cannot Skype on the Xbox 360. A highly requested feature, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

        • Thanks. That answers my question. Xbox One it is.

        • +1

          @YellowKnight:

Sorry but I cant understand why anyone would want to Skype on an Xbox. I had this feature on my 5 year old Samsung TV and I still dont understand why it has this or Facebook for that matter ?

        • @Kaboda: Facebook maybe not so much, but Skype? People can ring at anytime, you sit on the lounge and talk instead of a computer screen and with the Xbox One there's even the always on feature.

        • @YellowKnight: I know this has been negged but I always end up using my phone for google hangout or skype. Maybe it's personal preference.

        • @Kaboda: it's a great feature on the Xbox one, not so cool to use your phone when the whole family is gathered around. A lot more convivial when you have the xbox.

  • Ipswich have the Kinect 4GB version for $100. They don't have a sign up but it scans at that price. It comes with Kinect Adventures. There's no mention of Kinect Disney on the box.

  • you can buy cheapo 360 hard drives from ebay/china much less than the 100 dollar difference.

  • Sunnybank had a few more in stock last night. Mine comes with kinect disneyland adventures, and kinect adventures

  • Purchased one from Kmart Carousel WA. They had one left of the 4GB Bundle

    • great price anyways, the slim hdd cases are 5 bux delivered on ebay or buy a used hdd from cash converters.

  • Does the 4gb console have wifi?

    • +1

All S and E models have it yeah.

Thanks OP. Just got one from Eastgarden NSW. Looks like nationwide.

i've gone through 3 xbox's, cause of death rrod. Hopefully i'll have better luck with the slim. Should have bought another :P

    • Did you get the FREE repair from MS?

  • I still got my original Xbox that only came with 256mb memory card…lol

  • My store has the 250gb for bundle for $170 with 2 games (i think?) and 1 month xbox live there is also the wii u basic console for $200 can upload pictures if anyone wants

    • Barcode please of the Xbox 360

      • My phone wasent focusing on it when i took the photo but ill check tonight when i go to get mine and let you know

  • I've been looking for a copy of the Disneyland Adventures game, I don't need another console though…

  • And EBGames still want $100 for a used 4GB console.
$50 is my buy price: I only want a second console to stop my boys screen cheating in Halo MP….

Tip for anyone who wants a cheap xbox360- buy a bundle off gumtree with two controllers and a few recent games for around $100. then sell the extras - i bought one with 2 controllers and 5 games, the best being gta v. Controllers sold for $25 each, gta v for $30 through gumtree, cant rememebr the others games but sold on ebay and got about $8 each after fees. End result was about $10 profit and a free xbox which i use as a media extender.

Dont give the fools at EB money for a second hand unit

    • Those 'fools' provide you 3 months of full peace of mind warranty, legit shop front and no risk.

Perhaps you got lucky buying off Gumtree (good on you) and are willing to roll the dice of fate when it comes to dealing in a dark alleyway with the seller. Others may not value that, or want one straight away.

Hmmm…effectviely $110 for 3 month warranty…bad deal imo. Most people in this country, i have found, are legit and not trying to off load dodgy goods. Despite what totday tonight has told you, gumtree is not totally populated by thieves and scumbags. And a word of advice - if someone asks to meet you in a dark alleyway for a cash deal, for the love of jeff DO NOT ACCEPT. If you do, Darwin says you deserve whatever comes your way. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your paranoia!

        • You've missed my point, I'm not trying to share my paranoia, perhaps you should visit the many OzB related forums threads about Gumtree/Ebay, like the ones I've participated in countless times.

In the end of the day, a post on Gumtree isn't a deal because there is no standardisation of stock volume. EB games on the other hand does offer a standardisation of stock volume that makes it worth posting as a deal.

In other news, I picked up a used PS3 off auction last year for $50, a bragging point yes, deal no.

        • @plmko: phrases such as "dark alleyway" and "dice of fate" reek of paranoia mate. And i was not posting it as a deal - any sentence preceded by the word "tip" clearly signifys that a counter mainstream, yet generally favourable, position is about to be offered up for consideration. Anyway its all good , and i agree with more bragging point thna deal, have a great day, and thanks for sharing!

  • Does anyone know if this Xbox 4GB is sufficient for games such as Batman Arkam knight and Arkam origins?

    • Ark ham knight is a next gen title. Else, yes.

      • Sorry not sure what u really mean. Do u mean the Arkam knight is fine with this Xbox or do I need a next generation Xbox for the game?

        • -1

Arkham Knight is not coming to Xbox 360, you would need an Xbox One (or PS4).

    • If i remember correctly last time my friend needed a usb to play gta 5.

    • 4gb is the storage space more than the memory. It will be fine - you just cant install many games so they will run a bit slowwer off the disk. Besides, you can just chuck a standard 16 gb usb 3.0 stick in the back ( or 2x 8gb) and youll have 20gb to play with. No need to thank me, all the best champ

    • +1

I bought the 4GB console in the 2013 boxing day sale at Big W which came with Batman: Arkham Origins. It only needed like a ~25-50mb update, then it's all good from there. Should be fine for any of the Batman games on the 360.

As mentioned by Morien, you will need a Xbox One to play Arkham Knight… it's new gen only, so it's a no go for 360.

  • Cheers mate for all the replies. I will go grab the Xbox at my local kmart. I hope they won't say this price is limited to QLD only.

  • jeeg many others have reported interstate kmarts are the same price

    • Thanks for that info! Appreciated.

  • Got the 250gb kinect 360-S for $150 from Mt Ommaney Kmart. Comes with one game - kinect adventures

    • I got one of the $100 4G ones from Mt Ommaney today - had to ask at the counter, and it might have been the last one.
It's showing a mfg date of 20-8-2011, so looks like they are clearing out old stock.

  • That's a good price

  • They had both on display for sale at Kmart Glendale NSW, didn't ask how many they had.

  • Great price! Bit the bullet and bought one as my spare.
    Thanks OP!

  • Still a couple left at Kmart Pacific Fair, but don't bother calling to see if they're in stock, you're better off to head to the store instead. When I called yesterday they said, "We just sent the last one off to Helensvale," curiosity got the better of me and I had a quick look and saw there were about four on the shelf (possibly more out the back?). As employees/customers can't hold clearance stock they will try and fob you off so you don't think there's any and they can purchase it instead.

  • Thanks OP, Great price. Got 4GB model today from Browns Planes QLD, They still have 2 each on display and plenty more at back of store.
I got it for my son 8 years old, Is it good enough for playing the games of that age group?

  • The 4GB unit I got having a MFR date 2011-01-19, it is 4 years old, any one got similar unit in this deal?

    • Mine is 2011-07-25 which shows out of warranty but i am contacting Microsoft support to see if they will renew it. By any chance does yours have a rattling noise when being movied or a lounder then usual humming noise when in use?

      • Did you have any luck contacting Microsoft about the warranty?

      • I could not notice any abnormal sound from my Xbox360, The sound is quite normal. How come the warranty ends? Did you checked with MS?

  • Has anyone bought it Victoria?
If so, please tell me the store where you bought as I've enquired almost all Kmart stores and none of them have stock.
    Thanks in advance.

  • if you are interested this http://www.msy.com.au/pc-components/5333-wd-25-notebook-500g… will make the Xbox 500G for $56.
