    Again?

Keep in mind to those who need points quickly- some people got lucky last time and received points in 1 or 2 months. Mine took the full 4 months before it arrived after hitting minimum spend.

    • What was the minimum spend?

      • -1

        1c for ANZ Rewards
        $1,500 for ANZ Frequent Flyer

        • good to note.. ANZ frequent flyer has statement limit on point u can earn (3000 for classic). ANZ rewards now limit

        • The last time it was $1500 min spend - not 1c.

I rmb because I bought a cuppa coffee than sat back waiting for the points to show up. 4 months later - it never did. I called in and they said the min spend was $1500.

        • @lawyerz: The $1,500 minimum spend was for the FF cards. ANZ did not specify the minimum amount for Rewards cards, hence 1c (if you can find such an item for purchase).
I picked up 3x50k Rewards points with only one purchase on each card (though I spent a couple of bucks - I wasn't at the grape shop…)
Though I seem to recall it took slightly longer than 4 months for my Rewards points to materialise (and just days for me to spend them all). Only time I spoke to them was to cancel the cards (and boy was that fun).

        • +1

@muncan: I'm holding my cards in front of me.. it says rewards for sure. dammit, and I just cancelled my cards.

        • @lawyerz: I'll +1 you if it helps?

    • I still didn't get my points…

  • +1

yeh same, mine took the full 4 months

  • important points - 3 months & fees:

Your application must be approved and you must activate the card and make your first eligible purchase (excluding fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, balance transfers and premiums for ANZ credit card insurance) within thirty days of approval to receive the bonus Reward Points. The bonus Reward Points will be credited to your account within three months of your first eligible purchase.

For ANZ Rewards, a Total Annual Fee of $89 applies which includes a $34 Annual Account Fee and a $55 Rewards Program Services Fee. For additional cardholders on ANZ Rewards an Additional Cardholder Fee of $10 and Rewards Program Services Fee of $55 will apply per additional cardholder on the account. These fees are current as at Monday, 27 October 2014 and are subject to change.

  • Can these points be transferred to other airline programs? ie QFF?
Or are they specifically ANZ Rewards points only?

  • Velocity Points
Redeem multiples of 2,250 Reward Points
    2,250 Reward Points

Does this mean 1 for 1 conversion?

    • Negative. 2250 rewards points give 1000 velocity points. See here: ANZ rewards

      • Oh yeh, just saw the fine print. so 1.5 points for every $1. I think Citibank Platinum has a better rate @ 2 point for 1 velocity and 1.25 points for every $1 spent

        • Yeah, that's for the ANZ points. The platinum card also gives the 50K points now, and has a better earn rate, but will also have a higher fee.

You could ring up though and see if they'll waive the fee. I just signed up for the "25k points, no annual fee" deal a week ago, so I'm going to see if I can wrangle another 25k points out of them ;)

        • Its actually a slight better rate when coverted to citibank.
          Citibank Palt. $1600 spent = 1000 velovity
          Anz Palt. $1500 spend = 1000 veloctiy.

The only gripe is the $89 annual fee. but i guess the 50000 takes care of it atleast for the first year.

        • @therog1:

Really possible? Let me know if you are successful!

        • Existing customers may be subject to different fees and should call 13 22 73 for information regarding the fees that apply to their account.

          Totally negotiable

        • @muncan:

I was meaning the earlier comment theorg1 to get another 25k points out of them

          Is that even possible?

        • prob not without an annual fee.. good luck with the negotiating

        • @therog1:

          Any luck therog1?

        • @tychiang82: Haha haven't got to it yet - I'll try today and let you guys know how it goes.

        • @tychiang82: No good :(
Perhaps I should have pushed a bit more, but they went with the "T&C's won't let us".

  • What the diff between ANZ and ANZ Amex.. I can see u get more points with Amex - is there a greater anuall fee & does the 50000 points work for this card too?

    • +1

You should get an AMEX and a VISA card which can be used for the same 'ANZ REWARDS' account. No additional fees for the AMEX.

  • If i hold an ANZ platimum (non rewards) credit card.. can i apply and be eligable for the 50000?

    • I would ring them up, explain your situation, and say you'd like the 50K points. Maybe mention cancelling your current card. It's remarkable what they'll do for you with a bit of encouragement ;)

  • -2

last time this deal was on July 2104 both wife and i applied and 4 months later received 50K points each (toto 100K) to top up the QFF 350K points we already have, that offer was for anyone, see now must be a new customer, so those holding a card with them now can't apply.

    • Just read the T&C i dont think you are correct. It makes NO REFERENCE to being a NEW Customer. You just need to be a new applicant to the ANZ Rewards Credit Card. I dont think this is the same as being an ANZ customer with another type of credit card!

Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Rewards credit card account by 31 March 2015. Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards, ANZ Rewards Platinum or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous six months. This offer applies only once per customer. If you transfer or cancel your new ANZ Rewards credit card account before the introductory bonus Reward Points are processed to your account, you may become ineligible for these bonus Reward Points. ANZ will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever resulting from a delay in the process of receiving and/or approving an application or activating the card. ANZ reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

    • just confirm.. eligible for existing anz customers

      • But not existing ANZ customers who

currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards, ANZ Rewards Platinum or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous six months.

        • So you should be eligible if you already have a non rewards anz credit card if I understand right. Correct?

        • Yep! That's how we scored 150k Rewards + 150k FF points across 6 card types. We were eligible for the bonus on only 1 of each card type. Note the previous offers waived the annual fee.

        • @muncan:
But now the offer is only on the 3 reward type cards, so 50k points is all is available right? And being already a client for another no reward credit card it should be very easy and straightforward process with no questions and paperwork required?

        • @maxi: the 3 ANZ FF cards each have 50k bonus points too (all now with annual fees)

        • @muncan:
          The classic has $95 fee.
Still $155 gain after cashing in the points. Will ANZ really let you apply for one of each? Are they that silly?

        • @maxi: Yes & No

        • The platinum and black annual fee make the 50000 points worthless

        • @muncan:
I mean you can get a classic ($89/year fee) and a qff classic ($95/year fee) and get 100k points

  • Hmmm, tempted… I just cancelled my 2 cards (100k) that I got last time…

    • You may not be able to then. They sometimes have a condition that says you can't have signed up or cancelled a card in the last 6 months (to stop churn obviously).
As always, check the fine print.

  • Whats the most value I can get from the 50k points? I'm meant to get my 50k points from the last time they ran the offer but cant figure out whats the most value.

    • +1

Depends on what's more valuable to you. I was going to claim my 150k points on $750 of Myer / Bunnings vouchers, but ended up using mine for 4 return Qantas flights from ADL>MEL for a mate's Bucks Night last weekend.
      Mrs muncan was devo.

    • just redeemed 74,700 points for $500 Woolworths/Wish gift card. ~ 330 bucks for 50k points
Pretty much free 1000 bucks if you applied for all 3 ff cards last time.

  • side note: they must make a tonne of cash out of people not using their CC's responsibly to offer us $250 ($161) to sign up to these accounts.

The 4 month wait clearly a ploy to make you get into debt

    • +1

We Ozbargainers will make up for the rest of the unenlightened rabble ;)

  • ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card = 50,000 Qantas FF pts
ANZ Reward credit card = 50,000 ANZ rewards pts

Which one if more valuable? I am not going to use the card, only for points purpose.
Say I am going to convert 50,000 QFF pts to $500. How much is ANZ rewards points worth maximum?

    • Whats the conversion between these and velocity points? I'm looking at a 50k velocity point american express deal at the moment, but has a $350 annual fee. http://www.pointhacks.com.au/biggest-virgin-velocity-frequen…

      What would be better?

    • Cannot locate how much you must spend on the card in first 30 days. Is it 1500 dollars or just 1 dollar? Any other better deals for QF points at the moment?

      • make your first eligible purchase (excluding fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, balance transfers and premiums for ANZ credit card insurance) within thirty days of approval to receive the bonus Qantas Points.

Spend > 1 cent anywhere other than exclusions and you are all good :)

  • Got my 50000 bonus signup points today. Signed up 28/2/15. Exactly one statement later.

Spent $40 at supermarket on the AMEX card.

    Happy happy Easter! =)))

  • +1

    50,000 Q points for $95. I think it is a very good deal. I don't know why only 9 people gave +.

    • Agree, thought it may have hit the 20+ territory easily
