Absolutely no reason to pay money for this "feature"

Thanks genius, glad we can count on your baseless opinion. Now read this.

      • If you need this program, YOU ARE USING THE COMPUTER WRONG

        • Why don't you type with more caps? I can barely read your sentence.

You're clueless. I'm not going to bother repeating myself again, this program is invaluable to people dealing with botched uninstallers or massively bloated software suites that don't cleanly remove themselves.

Built-in uninstallers do the bare minimum. If you're ignorant of Revo Uninstaller, that's fine, just don't try and convince everyone else that you're ignorance is rooted in anything other than your confusion of terminology.

You think because it's called "Revo Uninstaller", it merely uninstalls software. It doesn't. It comprehensively removes registry/file/folder leftovers in many directories and locations ordinary users would never think to look as well as being capable of removing software that refuses to uninstall, partially uninstalls, or even has no built-in uninstaller.

        • @Amar89:

You are hyping "registry cleaning". On modern computers, it does nothing.

Also: "lingering files". Again, on modern computers, virtually nothing to worry about.

        • @Neo: If you read the post I linked to, I already said:

Over time this clutter builds up and can cause conflicts with newer versions of the same software packages (old license data left behind in the registry for instance), and used to be able to impact mechanical hard disk performance; in the case of drivers, the less-renowned manufacturers often make such poor installers that they can get rid of legitimate driver files, which can impact stability.

I've seen NTI CD/DVD Maker break Windows System Restore after uninstalling it, because the hopeless uninstaller deleted shared Windows files that the .exe called.

Broken installations that don't work obviously consume space and serve no practical purpose. Removing them manually is tedious, time-consuming and liable to miss chunks of the installation and here and there.

Revo Uninstaller fills a useful niche and can resolve potential conflicts, but it is a troubleshooting application.

No one's saying it should be the default method of uninstalling programs, but there are times when it's incredibly useful, such as the examples I described in that linked post.

@Amar89: The clueless are unable to be educated, so don't even try.

        • @Amar89:
Used Revo a few years ago, worked as advertised, quite thorough too.
Its not for everyone, but for people to be saying it's useless is incorrect.

Thanks Op. I have been waiting for this one.

Doesn't seem to any sort of a bargain.
Why not just use the free version ?

    • The free version lacks some more advanced features listed on this page.

      • None of which can't be done with CCleaner, which is also free.

        • +1

CCleaner doesn't uninstall programs nor remove partial/failed uninstallations to the degree that Revo Uninstaller does.

CCleaner removes temp files, caches, and Windows miscellanea.

As someone who uses CCleaner in conjunction with TweakNow PowerPack, Registry Mechanic, System Ninja and Revo Uninstaller Pro, I can tell you CCleaner does not catch everything and many times I still need to manually remove obsolete registry keys and program folders (in AppData/Program Data for example), that all of these above cleaners miss.

    Can it uninstall itself?

I have this on my wife's PC. This app is good to get rid of lingering files including registries after uninstall especially those pesky Chinese streaming apps. I got the Pro version free last year.

    • Deal title made me think its $7 for 3 PCs but its actually $12 for one licence :|

  • no real deal, apps like these are always discounted or free (and are junk anyway). sorry OP but are you getting something/free advertising etc for this site as you just post it week after week.

    • So many self-appointed IT skiddies running around today; must be the school holidays.
