Maybe not the cheapest flights you'll ever find, but still a great deal on a fantastic airline.

This ~$800 AUS-Europe return hack may still also work: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143752

We are travelling in March on Etihad leaving from Singapore for less than $800 including flight to Singapore and I know that those deals are still around.

    • are they the sing- paris, dub- oz deals, been looking at these with etihad and price is coming in aboout $850, plus then flight to singapore of $200, can you please provide further details on your deal?

Return? Great deal you got there. Are you flying Etihad from Aus to Singapore?

Hopefully this deal might be helpful to those travelling a little later in the year (around peak season).

Edit: Ah yes, this super deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143752. It's a good one!

      • Flying to SIN wth Jetstar for $150 from Melbourne, then to Athens and back to Melbourne from Dublin, I think it is about $780 all up

There are lots of different combinations to get the deal, even leaving from Japan, it's just trial and error to get the best deal

      Please share some details

    LON? You mean LHR right?

  • Sorry to say this, it's not a bargain. Fare posted is normal sale price and other carriers have similar or better pricing for these routes.

  • Yeah, not really a deal. Even with flying Etihad all the way (ie not including the ex-Asia open jaws) these have been ~$400 cheaper for each city in the past.

    • So, you can't show a cheaper price currently, is that what you are saying?

      • +2

Just because it's the current cheapest price doesn't automatically make it a bargain. It makes it standard. Which in this case, from my experiences, it is nothing more than that. Standard.

If you are flying to Abu Dhabi rather than Europe, you can save approx $600 on the price listed above by doing a multi city search (SYD>AUH>SIN>SYD). Flights in February and March are showing up as A$1207.

    • That's a great price, good opportunity for a stopover in Singapore too. Do you know who the carrier is on SIN->SYD leg?

      • I wasn't searching thoroughly but the few flights i saw were with Etihad to Brisbane, then Virgin to Sydney.

  • Thanks for posting OP but I've found much cheaper (as the kind folks above me have said) There's sale fares everywhere and this is a fairly standard price. Again thanks for posting and keep posting any deals that come your way!

    • Thanks, at least it's reignited the Singapore-Europe-Melbourne deal discussion. Cheers anyway!

  • Cant work it out, I select Mel to Madrid return, Indicates that this fare should be 1516.00, however when I go ahead and select dates (within the time frame) I do not get 1516.00, the fare is 3 to 400 higher.
