  • 6500Kj in 24 KFC chicken nugs. Add an extra 1000 for the sauce.

    • +22

6500 Kj is about 1550 cal, or just over half of the daily intake of a moderately active adult male: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/estimated-calorie-require…

For those who only eat two meals a day, this is a great addition to your diet.

      • +12

LOL… it's a bit more than half. 7500 total kj in this box out of a recommended 8700 (86% rdi) leaves you just 1200 for the rest of the day.

I'm not saying don't buy it; just don't eat it all. 10 bucks is a bargain if shared as a snack between a few people!

        • +60

          booooo to sharing

          boooooo booooooooo

        • +19

          @Baghern:

Times like these it's great I have no friends lol

      • yeah but what is a moderately active mail man?

i use a a band tracker, and log in at least 8,000 steps and get around 2,200 calories.

        • +9

I guess it depends if you're a mail man on a motorbike, on a bicycle or on foot. Sounds like you're on foot ;)

      • +5

Great, if you want loads of carbs, fat, sodium and chemicals..

        • I upvoted you because those words for me are true.

      • +1

I only eat 1 meal a day. Dinner tonight and daily intake of calories is sorted :)

        • -1

you must be a real stunner.

        • +9

@itsdanthaman: At least he's not judgmental of others based solely on a single comment made on the internet.

        • +12

          its the internet.

          dont take me seriously.

    • -1

According to their site, 10 pieces of nuggets contains 3279Kj:

      https://kfc.com.au/menu/chicken/kentucky-nuggets-10-pieces/

that makes 24 pieces ~7900Kj without the sauce.

  • +50

    Valentines day sorted!

    • dipped in chocolate!

    • +4

At least you're guaranteed to be eating this by yourself the next day ;)

      • +4

        Haha wtf neg

  • +1

There is also a new voucher similar to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/172835 I received it a few days ago, but I have had a few issues with my scanner/software.

  • Whats supercharged - I guess hot chilli?

    • It's like a mixture of a sweet mustard, mayonnaise, paprika and some very mild Jalapenos. ( For me anyway )

    • Mmmmm chicken feet!

      • +4

Chicken feet are delicious, not even joking, don't knock it till you've tried it!

        • +2

That's why the nuggets have that more-ish flavour.
And yes, I enjoy chicken feet. I even eat them some times ;-)

    • +11

Actually on the website it says "100% breast chicken".

… so probably no bones :)

      https://kfc.com.au/menu/chicken/kentucky-nuggets-10-pieces/

      • +5

But don't forget, it's only 100% chicken breast in the percentage of the nugget that is chicken. So if the nugget has 50% chicken, that 50% is breast. But the other 50% in the nugget is usually a carb filler of some sort.

        • Nah man, everything except the coating.

    • hahahaha lol @ feathers!! Also dont forget beaks

      • pressure cook it all, blend it a few times, and you won't even know its feathers.. it wont even be crunchy..

  • +3

Great, now if you're living in Tasmania you're not only being overcharged for petrol but for nuggets too!!

    • fat tax…

      • I was thinking like everything else here, travel tax

    • two headed tax

      • i laughed but probably shouldn't have.

      • u stole my quirk reply from under me. damn u! (need 48 nuggets in tasmania).

    • That will teach them not to secede from the mainland proper……. :P

  • +4

    "Excludes TAS" chuckle

    • Take the hint TAS, no one likes you.

      • +10

        But… but… :(

      • KFC hinting that they don't support inbreeding.

        • +2

… amongst humans, but no such restrictions on the chickens

    • OP is clearly trolling with this post.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/179755

      • +4

I've taken a different approach, I complained directly to KFC and promptly received a $20 voucher. If your in Tas do the same from their homepage :)

        • +1

To bad you can't get 48 nuggets with that voucher ;)

  • Lunch sorted

  • I just heard on the radio in Melb that it was 10 nuggets for $10 all day everyday. Anyone else hear it?

    • Must have heard wrong. Def got 24 nuggets for $10!

  • +4

Is this valid for KFC qld btw? Because I hear they are seperate and usually have their own thing going…

    • Would depend on the individual store I'd imagine, maybe just call your local store and ask them :)

    • +3

I say a sign advertising this at Morningside KFC in Brisbane.

  • +7
    • What the sh**?

  • +7

remember to do the survey to get extra chips and drink!!

  • OMG I LOVE NUGGIES but this…. my health… ugh.

  • +4

Haha. Looks like kfc nuggets will be ozbargained.

Looks like the Coles, Medibank private activity tracker campaign will gain momentum.

  • -2

Would anyone be interested in eating 100 of these on camera?

I think it would be interesting to see an Ozbargain official competiton.

    • +3

      if you're paying sure….

      • -1

        Happy to pay.

        • Just a hundred? No problem :)

    • +1

Honestly we ozbargainers would just buy 24 x 4 and get 96 nuggets and try to sell it off as 100.

  • +1

This replaced the 9 for 9.95 original recipe deal. Much disappoint, but it's not Tuesday only

  • How much are they normally?

    • +1

Pretty sure it's in the region of $5.45 for a six pack.

      Edit: $5.95 at my local.

      • wtf thats crazy then

        buy 10 get 14 free…

  • +1

Just got back from the USA where maccas has 50 nuggets for $10.

This isn't as good as the maccas deal but nonetheless awesome. So tempted to get it right now.

    • I always worry about Maccas nuggets.

      • In fact, Nuggets in general having spoken to a few people involved in chicken slaughtering/processing etc. He said he would never let his kids eat chicken nuggets from frozen produce (Coles/Woolworths) or Maccas.

Not to mention somebody that worked for Edgell in regards to maximizing profit for the fillet of fish.

        • +1

So which ones are the good ones then?

        • @unity1: He didn't elaborate. ;-)

I recall visiting the USA in 1983, & they had Chicken Nuggets at maccas & they were great. The Fried chicken pieces we had in Australia were far superior, & they disappeared a few years later. Obviously phase in a product that requires less preparing, & better profits.

  • +2

    i had 48 today i feel good

    • +1

LOL. I hope you have immodium. ;-) just in case.

      • +1

        i have a wheel chair

        • LOL. I recall eating 9 pieces of chicken once, during a trade night. It was a long night venturing the bathroom. ;-)

  • -3

Good deal, but McDonalds nuggets taste better.

    • I tend to agree, but I love all tempura nuggets

      • Tempura Nuggets are nice, but I found they don't have much meat. Mainly batter.

  • +7

No mention about the sides that you can add-on to this deal?

1.25L Pepsi, Large Chips, Large Coleslaw or Large Potato&Gravy are 2 for $5 when purchased with this deal.

    • Where is this advertised? Can't see it on the website. That would be great to add to this deal.

      • The KFC had it advertised on their speakerbox, it was professional printed like the rest of the menu, and the person taking the orders tried to upsell. I thought it was just a normal thing.

    • +1

Hmmmm, 24 nuggets, a drink and potato and gravy….. Don't look at me! Lol

  • What ever you do guys, just make sure we don't overtake NZ in National obesity % :P

  • How do we know which stores are participating?

    • +4

look for the ones with the low rider cars in drive thru

  • Shared a box of nuggets last night with a friend. Not sure if it's just my local store (macq. centre) but they appear to have changed the batter for the nuggets so it's not as crunchy as they used to be :(

funny cos the receipt said there was a saving of $2.

    • +2

They haven't changed anything. You probably just got old nuggets.

If it was Hawker ACT then I could understand why.

    • With the amount of nuggets been churned through, doubt they will have time to cook it til crunchy.

I find the same on the 9 for $9.95 deal, chicken pieces were soggy and er… flaky (not crunchy) batter…

  • Smashing a box of these right now solo. Got up sold on large chips and 1.25 drink. Unsure I'll do much damage to those..

    • +3

mission accomplished. surely the most proud moment of my 30 years.

      • You're alive at 30. Achievement in itself!

        • what odds you'll make it to 31 or beyond based on this diet I'm not sure!

        • @shmahoo: haha well I'm 30 at the moment so I'm well on my way! add to that the fact this is NOT my normal diet and cycling 200km a week and no family history of cancer etc etc and I'd say the odds are in my favour :D
note: I also tipped out most of the chips and 80% of the drink! no idea why or how I got upsold. Perhaps for the humorous photo.

        • @shmahoo: I suspect you were responding tongue in cheek though :D

        • @drprox:

Good explanation my brother. I'm sure the internet is intrigued.

    • Not the sort of box you should be smashing at age 30. Go hit the gym, dress yourself up, and get amongst it young man!
