  • Does it include the Westpac BusinessChoice Rewards Credit Card which shows an annual fee of $150? If not how do you accumulate points outside of flights alone?

Note it only offers 1 AQUIRE POINT* FOR EVERY $1.50 SPENT

    to get

$25 David Jones gift voucher from the Qantas Store5

    thanks, but no, thanks

    • It's always been better value to redeem flights than gift cards/products.

  • The faqs are worth reading.they are pretty comprehensive and well structured.

It looks to me like the main benefit is if you run a business and already fly Qantas a lot. Then you can get similar benefits to the individuals who fly for work purposes.

Devil is in the detail - that FAQ has grown over time. I flew tens of thousands of miles since it started and got ZERO acquire points. There was always an excuse. The biggest one was because it was booked through a corporate agency.

  • Good to hear this!

Joined last year late October-got 20000 bonus points..
don't need to pay any more money for the expensive membership fees..

    • That's good to hear. Thanks for that.

Something to bear in mind, from the FAQ:

To earn Aquire Points with Qantas
      (1) at least two of the business' owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, consultants, partners or principals must travel on one or more Eligible Flights on behalf of the business within the applicable membership year; and
      (2) the business must accrue at least 20,000 Aquire Points on Eligible Flights in the applicable membership year (regardless of how many Aquire Points you earn with partners that do not offer air-travel)

So your 20k points probably doesn't count towards this eligibility. You have to fork out real money for flights before you qualify.

So they've basically now told sole traders to sod off. Program gets worse progressively.

  • Has anyone got the 5k points yet?

    • I signed up on 2/2/15. I e-mailed Aquire 2 weeks later and asked why I had not been credited with the 5000 points. The answer was that it takes up to 7 weeks.
