Check out dns4me, it's cheaper, can use it for 3 different IP addresses, and I've been using it for a few months now, no hitches. They keep adding new sites too.

    • Being able to use different IP's was a life saver on holidays recently, another vote for dns4me.

      • Plus I can share it with 2 other people and each pay 1/3rd each.

I switched from UnblockUS to Getflix at the end of last year, at around $24/year.
It's definitely faster - I can now stream 4K Netflix & 3D movies through my Samsung Smart TV without lag.
The only downside that I've found is that there isn't a dedicated checking tool for dynamic IPs, like UnblockUS has. You have to either visit the website and manually update, or set up a task in Windows Task Scheduler (which I did), which takes a fair bit more effort.

    Great value for money!

    • +2

It does have support for dynamic dns services if you have that setup though

    • How you watching 4K Netflix? Does your TV have an app?

      • Can be done on some TVs by changing the TV region to USA or UK. Done with a set of remote commands usually. Come march 30th TVs should have a Aussie version of the app.

      • Sony 4k TV has a built in Netflix app which plays 4k shows.

      • All of the Smart TVs with HEVC decoder will support Netflix in 4K through their built in apps.
I use a Samsung F9000 with evolution kit, but all 2014 4K Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic 4K TVs will work.

In saying that, there's not much content available as yet - House of Cards, Breaking Bad & Marco Polo are the only things worth watching that are available on 4K at the moment.

        • Not too sure my LG. Has netflix on it. Its pre webos

        • @Kaboda:

          G'day Kaboda,
Out of interest did the LG have it installed natively or did you install…if so, how? I can't seem to get mine to work, after setting to USA I loose the smart TV option.

        • @naphman:
Mate I would love to tell you but my LG UHD 40inch is still sitting in a box unopened. We are moving or expecting to move anyway so it's remaining unopened till then. I just assumed pre webos LG TV's didn't have the Netflix app

        • @Kaboda:

Ahhhh bummer….no sweat! Thx for the reply!

        • @naphman: I'll message you once whenever I have opened it I'll message you. good luck

    • How do find the 3d movies

      • 3D movies will appear on a compatible Smart TV's app.
If you successfully changed your TV's region, and are running the app on a 3DTV, the 3D movies will come up as an option near the top of the list.

How are u even streaming 4k in Australia… Do u have like the nbn

      • +1

If your ADSL can do 15Mbps, you can stream 4k.

      • +2

        I live in Canberra - TransACT VDSL2 100Mbps down, 40Mbps up.

    • -1

How the heck do you stream with our Aussie internet?

  • +1

$24.19AUD (after FB Like and LOVE40 code)

  • Happy with the trial so far.
With VPN access, I'll prolly do the annual renewal.

  • Selected the annual plan liked them on Facebook and subscribed I though I saw on the getflx page $17 something dollars total, cool I thought, went through to PayPal and it set up a subscription @ $2.45 a month with the first 25 days free that amount didn't seem quite right.
I should've properly checked the details of my previous subscription instead of just assuming annual would be cheaper because my old plan was $6.98 3 monthly which it would've been cheaper to stay on :(

  • +1

Would, but even though I live in a large city and have the fastest speed for my area I simply don't have the bandwidth to stream anything higher than 720p (lucky if I could manage that).

  • Great service my only complaint is new Netflix android app no longer works with chromecast. But i think netflick are putting in extra region protection.

    • Chromecast will always access Google's DNS servers to check your location - this can't be changed, but access can be blocked through your router to make it work.
I have Netflix streaming working on my Chromecasts.
I never use it, though. If you're watching and get a call, it is next to impossible to pause whatever you're watching until you hang up.

    • Bit off topic but how do the majority get the android Netflix app? I'm still on 2.1.2 I found on some apk site.

      • Googling 'Netflix apk' will bring up sites like apkmirror which has very recent releases.

        • Thanks for the site recommendation. Worked fine

        • @Oldbugger:
Anything after 3.7.1 uses hard coded dns as well, and even using the router to bypass that will just result in the app not loading at all. For me at least.

        • @theguyrules: I got 3.9 and it works fine with the dns into the router

        • +1

          @theguyrules:

For the Android app you [may] need to block Google DNS in your router using static routing.
See here for background info: http://www.itpro.co.uk/vpns/23770/netflix-modifies-its-andro…

That solved all my troubles and caused the Netflix app to fail in automatically accessing Google DNS, as hard-coded and fall-back (term?) to my router's DNS, being Getflix as prescribed.

Inevitably I blocked all 4 DNS servers mentioned here:
          https://getflix.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/202281524-Bloc…

Running latest apk now with no troubles on Galaxy Note 4 and Tab S. ..This won't account for any device incompatibility above 3.7.1 though, so your results may vary. Hope it works for you.

        • @Argo:
Weird, anything beyond 3.7.1 gives me an internet error on my S5, I use a static route to be able to watch on my Chromecast, but the newer versions of the app dont seem to fall back onto my routers DNS, just fail to load.

        • @theguyrules: I guess you have tried uninstalling the Netflix app and reinstall? I had to do this when I upgraded just today as it just kept reverting back to the old version.

  • Looks good
    Gonna switch from unlocator today

  • Was interested in this offer on Aus Day, had the time to look at it properly today. Played around with my DNS and got it all working and signed up for Netflix no problem, will trial later and then likely get the year. good price!

  • So, I'm a bit of noob t all of this. Just a quick question, do you have to pay for both getflix and netflix??? or is it once you pay for getflix then you can use netflix for free?

  • Does anyone know if I can run one netflix account for 2 different locations?

    • The basic Netflix accounts have a restriction of how many devices can be watching at the same time (I think you can have a maximum of 3 devices streaming at a time). It does not matter if the devices are at different locations as far as netflix is concerned, however both locations will need a proxy or VPN service running.

      • Close - two accounts. There is an option for four accounts, which also adds UHD streaming in addition to Super HD.

  • Darn over too soon.. thought I had the 17th. Would they still honor $25?
