    How much would tickets be normally?

    AND if the fees and booking charges are like extra 7.50$ would it still be cheaper than at the door for alot of these acts?

      In my experience, most tickets are normally $30-$40 depending on venue. Some of the bigger acts can be $50-$60 sometimes though.

        Id say $20-40 for most acts.

        But yeah show up to the city hall or whatever that building is where they spruik from and you can get very cheap to free tickets on the night too.

      Here's my shortlist from this sale:
      * Celia Pacquola - her stand up is damn good
      * Dr Brown & Sam Simmons: Ceremony - Sam Simmons' one man show is amazing, this could be good
      * Good Game Live: The Trivia Challenge - could be good
      * Harley Breen - seen him at lest five times now, he's not amazing but is * consistently really good with new material each year. It's tradition for me now. Usually at James Squires which means pints of great beer.
      * Lawrence Leung - haven't seen him, but interested
      * Paul Foot - saw him on TV, should be fantastic, very strange sense of humour
      * Ronny Chieng - both times I've seen him were great
      * Sam Simmons - one man shows are amazing, like his TV show Problems

      Seen Jeff Gren multiple times and is always worth it. Would also recommend Sammy J & Randy, as well as Rich Hall.

        Oh I'd like to see Rich Hall. Always funny on Spicks & Specks and QI. He was apparently the inspiration for Moe the Bartender.

      I really liked "Headliners" last year and will be going again this year. 4 comics from North America in one show.

      Also, I'll be going to Wil Sylvince who was one of comics at Headliners last year, but has his own show this year. He was good.

    I have bought the Best of the Edinburgh Fest tickets for the last two years running and will do so again this year. The acts are all different each time and you get enough of a variety of comedic style that it suits groups of people out for a bit of fun.

    Highly recommended.

      the prices for most acts vary depending on what night you go. obviously saturday night is the most expensive, so you would have to determine savings based on that for largest percentage.

          @JimJim: Yeah, it took me a while for the shows and dates I was after too. I think they only have a small allocation of $20 tickets, and a lot have already been exhausted (show might've already sold out?)

          @massivedmg: I presume that if the show and date has been popular and a lot of normal priced tickets have been already sold, there might not even be an allocation of $20 tickets for particular nights.

      The Mariner Theatre Group charges an $8 fee for each show you book in one of their theatres and ticketmaster passes this on in full.

      The Comedy theatre and The Forum Theatre are owned/managed by the Mariner Group, along with a few others (Her Majesty's and the Princess, if I recall correctly).

      I have found that if you're booking multiple comedy festival shows in any of the Mariner theatres, it is best to do it in person at a ticketmaster outlet, because the person serving you can ring ticketmaster head office and request that only one booking fee is charged for all of your bookings. So this would mean, for example, if you're booking for Dave Hughes and Wil Anderson, both of whom are playing at the Comedy Theatre, you can get away with one $8 charge instead of two, if the person serving you is nice! BUT that doesn't help with this $20 sale because it's online only… can't win 'em all…

      I have done this at the Mt Waverley VIC outlet for the last couple of years because the lady working there is ace (I'm not affiliated with them in anyway).

        At the end of the day, I wasn't too stressed as getting the tickets for this price was already pretty good. Was mostly curious.

        But $8 handling charge, for someone at the theatre to look at the ticket and scan it seemed a bit stiff.

    If you log in to the Comedy Festival website and add shows to your shortlist, you can then book from there and only pay one handling fee for all the tickets you book. I managed to get four shows and 12 tickets on one "shopping list". One show went missing and the other had no "$20 for 20 hours" option. Called Ticket Master 1300 660 013 and they refunded the additional handling fees and changed my tickets from concession to "$20 for 20 hours" (they were the same price). I ended up with 7 shows, 19 tickets for a total of $399.22 (~$21 per ticket). Saved a total of $193 or ~$10.15 per ticket of the usual cost for the nights I'm going.

    Bah, this is such a hassle, it isn't worth the effort, I am just wasting time. The ticketmaster website is horrible. You make a shortlist and can't combine shows. No cheap tickets at all left for Judith Lucy and can't find any $20 for 20 tix for Joel Creasey, Ronnie Chieng or the Comedy Zone Asia.

    I just bought two tix to Ruby Wax seperately, to take my mum. I will just rock up and buy tix on the night and not have to deal with Ticketmaster bulldust.
