    Great 930 price, great phone

    • I'm sorry, how is that a great price when you can get it for $457AUD delivered?

      • Can you please provide the link? Hope it is not the imported product.

        • Nokia 930

          Australian warranty.
Disclaimer: I've never bought from them, but they have good reviews on ProductReview.

        • +5

@DJohn: i belive that's still a grey import, and the warranty is provided by the seller and not the manufacturer.

it is a good price but make sure to read the conditions of the warranty before purchase to see if your ok with how they do it.

      • Doesn't have Microsoft Mobile 2 year support

  • Darn. Was hoping for a decent big screen phone to go on sale.

    Decent prices on the Surfaces.

  • Just bought an 830 from mobileciti for $460 for my mum. Oh well, great price.

I'm tempted by the 930 myself, but I might leave it a few months in the hope that it comes down even more.

  • Nice price for the 830.
IMO its a better design than the 930

    • Design is certainly better, but 830 doesn't have 2GB of RAM.

      • Yeah, the 930s internals are better but..

    • I have a 930 and my wife has the 830. The 930 is clearly a better phone. Sd800 and 2GB RAm vs SD400 with 1GB. 1080p amoled vs 720p lcd. 20mp with bigger sensor vs 10mp. Hardware wise there is no contest.

The 830 does have its advantages though. SD card support, Glance and a removable battery. And it does feel good in the hand.

  • ! Only just dropped money on a surface last week. Great prices for local stock!

If you're thinking of getting a Fitbit Charge, please do so locally. They are hit and miss, plagued with numerous problems and YMMV with them. Personally I've had mine fail in 3 weeks plus The band clasp is 5h17house and falls off and a multitude of other problems exist for this device. Hit up the official help forums and do your research before buying one.

I've personally returned mine for the HR which has a better watch style clasp, and went back to fitbit only because I have friends/family on the leaderboard. If you're looking for something reliable and don't care for the fitbit brand/app, I recommend Garmin.

    • Im with you I'm very careful with my gadgets and the silver clasp ripped out of the band after about 6 weeks…swopped with no arguments from JB but same as you just went for the HR as its a better band system… I just find the HR collects skin and sweat a bit more than the Charge did (not a bathing issue !! :-) ) but quick rinse every day and its good…

  • Is this fitbit the version with the Heart rate monitor on it?

    • no thats the normal firbit charge

    • Nope. The one with the heart rate monitor is the Charge HR (about $194)

    • Nah it's not, Fitbit Charge HR is the heart rate one

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 i5 128GB Tablet $1045 —- pretty sure HN were selling these for under a grand not too long ago

    • -1

I think that was the surface PRO 2

    • yep $997. No it wasn't the PRO2 model lochydc.

  • 16GB ROM?

  • Hey guys planning to buy the charge. Is it good deal? Will it get any cheaper? Is it a good fitness watch? Tossing up between charge and Garmin vivofit

    • I would get the ChargeHR if anything. Alot of issues have been reported with fitbit so be mindful.

      • issues? what types of issues?

        • google it

        • @Gavman: its just the rash… not big of an issue… been wearing the flex never had a problem

        • @Zfan111222:

The rash was with the Fitbit Force which was discontinued. The Charge does not have the same problem.

      • I have the charge but got it at $108 from DSE when it was on sale last weekend. I've been using it for the past 4 days and so far so good. Obviously I haven't tested it long enough but the strap appears to be holding… read somewhere that they tweaked the design from the flex which had issues.

I didn't get the charge HR as it has been reported to be inaccurate. If I really want to get proper HR reading, I'd go for the Garmin Vivo range with the chest strap.

    • Hey, I have the Charge - it is neat - but kinda want the Charge HR. A few reasons - obviously it has the HR bit. The clasp looks a lot sturdier than the charge - a traditional watch style, not a push in thingy.

$118 is a fair price. We paid around $125 before christmas.

The device is fine, and I suspect the similar brands are all about the same - the real difference comes with the software/app. The fitbit app is great. It also links to a bunch of other apps - myfitnesspal, garminconnect, etc. It also adds a bit of competition element - allows challenges between linked fitbit friends.

    • I was looking at the Charge and the Vivofit. Went with the Vivofit for couple reasons - 1. Battery lasts a full year. 2. Cheaper. 3. Have read of screens breaking/scratching badly on the Charge.

Have been using the Vivofit for a couple of weeks now and no problems at all. Easy to use. Be aware that the Vivofit 2 is due out early March but is of course more expensive.

Looks like no one cared if ascend p7 lives or die despite a huge price drop and FHD with 8 megapixel selfies.

    • That looks like a bargain, the phone reviews really really well too by reading a little bit. If I wasnt waiting for the asus zenphone I would jump on this

    • its very competitive market at the top end, you cant sell a phone at those prices and have reviews point out issues with cpu being under-powered etc, the rest of the specs are great but yeah even at $335 i'd think twice about it some good phones from last years batch at similar prices :)

I have the P6 and it's been one giant disappointment. They promised the world with updates and delivered nothing. On top of the that, the casing has fallen apart due to shabby build quality. The P7 is the same design. Huawei won't be getting of my business again unless it's a silly bargain too good to refuse.

      • That's a big shame because it really does look like a desirable phone.

      • 7.9/10 from 200 votes on this site. Can't see any comments about bad case. Also the Does the P6 Have a glass back like the P7?
        http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_ascend_p7-reviews-6124p2.php

        • nah no glass back… Thats the P7 though, they may well have turned their attention to improving the quality due to the shamozzle that was the P6.. Lack of updates was my biggest bugbear, but that is reason enough not to go back in a hurry.

  • alright guys, whats the best price for fitbit charge HR? missed out the dick smith one… whats the cheapest atm?

    • opps

    • +1

Same here I am also after one of them.

    • +1

also after the HR if there is a good price

      • They aren't cheap atm

    • Jb had them for $167 on the weekend … down from 199 … not a great discount but decent enough…. Price may come down just a little when the surge comes out … but not by much.

      • The surge is out

  • P7 looks tempting.. What alternative would there be for ~$350?
I don't think you can even get the LG G2 for that price locally, not yet.

  • For$350 that is bang for bucks as the screen is a 5" full HD 2 gigs ram cat 4 LTE Questionable home made octa core chip much like Samsung's Exynos 5 etc.
PLUS the only handset with 8 megapixel front Cam. Also Huawei is a much reputable brand then most of the other high specs China made Googie and Jiayu phones. But Chinese brand handset have a reputation of zero updates on Android.

  • How about the Samsung Galaxy Alpha?
Looks like HN has it also on bargain sale for $432
for comparison JB has it for $488

  • Huawei Ascend P7 4G 16GB $335 bumped up to $392. could have been pricing error. or hv dirty trick to try to get everyone to know that they are now having cheap thursday night.

  • It was 335 when I looked should have got a screen grab. Yes it is sneaky and dishonest to change the price part way through the sales day. Won't buy anything from dishonest retail stores. HN dishonest.

  • I went to Harvey Norman yesterday and almost bought the i5 256gb surface pro 3. However the sales guy was only willing to do $10 off each the type cover ($139) and dock ($219). I could not decide on this or waiting for surface pro 4. Ended didn't buy. Later at night I pass by Jbhifi and went in to have a look. Even though the price for the SP3 was higher ($1394 vs HN $1371), they were willing to give $130.50 for the type cover and $199 for the dock if I buy as a bundle. So about $5 cheaper at Jbhifi if buy as a bundle. Still haven't made up my mind though.

    • So JB is not willing to pricematch HN price? I went to HN yesterday as well, and the salesman said the surface pro sale was Thursday only , while the online chat guy said the sale was on until Monday.

      • I didn't ask as haven't decided to buy. I notice HN sale still on, instead of Cheap Thursday is now Gadget Sale. I ended up buying online from Microsoft store, felt it was cheaper with the cashback.
