I work near there. Pretty crap location with NOTHING near it. If you're holidaying in Canberra its better to stay in a town centre.

      People holiday in Canberra?

      • Yeah they like to look at the "National" things.

  • Even at this price.. It's still overpriced for its value. Not recommended !

    • Kurrajong has been totally remodelled. Opened about a month ago. But $150 a night is what you'd expect to pay, not $350 a night. You can book this room, for example, for $199 a night on Hotels.com so on that basis this is a decent deal.

  • $150 per night is standard…

    • Could you show me where $150 is normal please?

because i have no evidence of that and would really like to know.

I hate to post anything that wasnt good deal

      Thanks Travelfactory

      • I stay in Canberra weekly.
I sometimes book the Aria hotel or Pavilion or Rex for less than $150 per night.
Use WELCOME10 code and get $10 off.
The cheapest I paid for Aria was $65 which was when HotelClub had the $50 off.

This week I stay at Victor Lodged which was $95.
Next week it will be the Stateman for $99.

        • OK thanks but I was more talking apples for apples as in the hotel Im promoting being $150 not other hotels in Canberra but thanks for the information

        • @Travelfactory:
I have stayed at Hotel Kurrajong but in the budget rooms with shared bathrooms.
          They were $65 per night.
But I found the bathrooms too cold during winter so I stop staying there.

Haven't stayed in the better rooms yet as Hotel Kurrajong rarely have promos.

        • @congngo: Kurrajong has been completely remodelled. Not sure the budget rooms still exist.

  • Uh… how exactly do we work out whether there's any availability at the time we want to visit? We just buy the voucher and hope? What if the weekend we want to go, it's booked out?

Heard the remodelled hotel is OK, building's haunted by Ben Chifley who preferred this hotel to the Lodge so much that he died there lol

I'm currently staying in the newly renovated Kurrajong hotel, it has a old world feel to it. Waiters are wearing slacks with suspenders in the resturant. The beds are nice and firm, shower pressure is OK, but not as strong as I would like it.

Its located in the Parliamentary Circle which means you can walk to Parliament House. Which is why so many Prime Ministers have stayed here.

Otherwise there isn't much here except for their own overpriced food. Coffee is nice, as its from Lonsdale Street Roasters.

You could walk to Kingston Foreshore for some more overpriced food and views of the water.

Oh… the renovations is so new, the paints fumes are really strong, got a headache the first night but I guess I'm getting used to it now.
