  • Oh my god! What the flipping hell?! I saw the $50 per room, then got to the page to enter my details, credit card etc. I select Confirm, then it takes me back to the room selection page, and everything is full price! I was at the freaking page! I am so bloody pissed! 50 hr my butt! It is so not sold out! This is so unfair! I was there! :-(

  • I got through but for the wrong dates… 16-19 December, which is useless, so I had to start again and now, you guys are telling me that they are sold out! no!!

  • If anyone wants to sell a booking in Melbourne on a Thursday please let me know. Got screwed over by 'this price is unavailable' after i typed everything in. Bastards.

  • I finally got a hotel, not the one I wanted (did have it but failed to load at the last step), but a decent one nonetheless. And at 50 bucks who can complain.

  • I give up… not having a great day. :(

  • What pisses me off the most is they're still freaking advertising it! Get it off already! Way to make us even more sad!

  • I F5'ed for like an hour + but no luck! And while the offer is over, the bloody annoying ad is still there

Well i was successful in getting a booking for a hotel which i know nothing about.

Meh, this is one of those bargains that you get just for the sake of it being cheap.

Ah well the room should be fine anyway, me and the GF are the for one reason and one reason only!

    LOL

  • LOL it's such bs that it's sold out, because I went to the Travelodge one, and it shows available $50, you just can't select that option. So how the hell is it sold out?! Pfft. So much for it ending on Friday the 13th.

    • Oohh.. now it says sold out roflmao!

  • a1111300 - I'd be happy to take the Melbourne booking for 3 nights for the 14th, 15th and 16th of December if you're interested. I think the other nights should be easy to get rid of as they include the weekend. First we need to find out if its transferrable.

  • If it's transferable. and some1 doesn;'t want their booking .

    and in SYDNEY

    PM me :(

    it's my birthday . i wanted a booking but i had exams

    • email me if u are interested?

  • Hey Lexsus,

I don't want my booking. Couldn't reply earlier on coz as a new user i can't post anything more than 5 comments. If you are interested email me. It's from dec 14-dec21 2009, Medina on Crown Executive (Sydney). One bedroom and i am pretty sure you can check out the facilities easily. It's actually better than the Adelaide one that i want and a real shame that i can't cancel it, coz people actually wanted rooms. I should have checked and checked again when i refreshed it.

However, i have managed to convince the person in charge to let me transfer it, so anyone 350 for 7 nights is a steal, email me @ [email protected] and i will let you know the details.

  • WOO HOO! I just tried at 1:59pm, and I was done at exactly 2:00pm. Didn't get the hotel I wanted, which was Vibe or Medina. It ended up being Travelodge, but who cares, it's still $50 to stay, and has a pool yay! I haven't been to Newcastle in ages (live in Sydney), and my fiance has never been, so have an awesome excuse to go now. Booked for 19th of Dec! :-)

  • vibe hotel has rooms on sale for $90 for bookings thats 2 nights or more. Block out period applies, there is one whole week available before school starts in Jan 2010. Good savings for that week.

  • +1

I just stayed at the Medina Executive in Flinders St Melbourne courtesy of this deal - an absolutely enormous lounge room + dining area + full kitchen inc. dishwasher, oven, microwave, full fridge, and stovetop + large bathroom + laundry and spacious bedroom with BIRs + balcony overlooking Birrarung Marr parkland and ferris wheel, MCG and tennis centre.

    Stunning deal for $50/night!!!!

At check-in, we were told the promotion apparently attracted around 75K visitors, hence the website crash. They didn't know how many rooms were sold in this particular hotel through the promo, just the visitor number from a head office memo.

  • Just stayed at Vibe on Gold Coast. We chekced in late ish on Sat around 4pm. Got allocated a corner room on the 14th floor. The room was ok but not great. The next day we requested a room upgrade and was given a River View Room and it was the opposite corner on the 15th floor. It was much much better and we didn't mind the $35 upgrade charge.
We booked Vibe for our parents in Jan for a 3 nights stay at $90 per night so we upgraded that book too on the spot with an extra $20 per night charge so they will get the River View Room too.
Just a bit of interesting story about Vibe on Gold Coast, hearsay from a hotel porter from Marriot. The Vibe used to be Chevron and it was THE hotel of the 50s/60s. It was knocked down in the 80s for redevelopmemt. Vibe is whats left of the Chevron. Front desk staff was friendly and it was good of Yuka to look after us. We have stayed at Resort hotels where the Front desk is the weakest link of their 5 stars rating.
