They're minor. Runs a bit smoother, few more filters etc. I was using RawTherapee, Gimp and then PE8 and very happy with the way the photos were turning out. The video tutorials on1 have are good too.

$24.99 on the Mac app store, probably cheaper elsewhere. Still a good deal though.
I think the App store version is a tiny bit crippled. Not sure in what way, but its not the "Premium Edition"

Went to install the windows version and it says "windows 7 x64 bit or better required". I'm running windows x32bit windows 7.
So what does perfect effects do?
Is it like a rival to PhotoShop or something?
It can be used as a Photoshop/Lightroom/GIMP etc plugin or as a standalone app. Basically adds filters and effects to photos, but nice helpful ones, not like cheesy instagram ones.
Great app, Ive been using since v8 too.

Unsure about the software though. Spent 10 minutes mucking around with a photo, some of the presets are nice and there is plenty of control. However it used over 5GB of memory just looking through a few filters on a 9MB jpeg.
Really handy piece of software, definitely worth a look.
After getting PE9, I then bought Browse from the Mac App store and it failed to function properly… not feeding photographs to external programs, crashing etc. I wrote to On1 and without hesitation they sent me a link and download for the Premium edition from their site. I've never had service like that from anyone else. So I also ended up buying the entire premium suite. I absolutely love it. There's a current 25% discount with code SPRING25. Needed, with the dollar so awful at the moment.
