  • Awesome. Thx.

    • +9

If you read the post it says starts Tuesday :)

      • +7

Maybe OP could bold/italics the "starting Tuesday 3rd March" to appease the thundering horde of clicking mice?

        • Done. Great tip, thanks.

    • +6

      Haha, seriously?
I love it when people are so quick to buy the bargain, they don't even bother to read what or when it is…

  • Sorry just realised

  • +1

The Canberra hotel is ibis styles, which is a fair way out of town, FYI.

    • +1

12km north of canberra and definitely not 4 star. I have paid $50-60 to stay there when accor has a 50% off sale so I don't think it is a good deal.

  • +3

This deal partially relieves the stress of witnessing New Zealand beating Australia by one wicket.

    • +3

a hat trick to win the game would have been epic!

  • Thanks TA!!! :) exciting!

  • Some good deals

  • Just checking. The Big W and Caltex cards can be used at Woolies supermarkets, right?

    • -8

      Yep, but who doesn'tneed ppetrolanyway.

      • +14

Someone who doesn't own a car?

        • Was just a generalisation.

        • @cloudy:

Generally speaking, the weather is always cloudy

      • I don't

        • +1

And that's cool, I'm just generalising. Not judging.

        • +1

          @cloudy: Yes thats cool :)

    • The Big W card definitely can. Not sure about the Caltex.

      • You can also use a Big W card at Caltex.

    • -1

No Caltex is can not be used in supermarket only can use Caltex associated store.

      • -1

In this thread, users reported being able to use the Caltex cards at Woolworths supermarkets… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182261

        • My friend it is saying Caltex woolworth supermarket not super market. By the way I had experience before. So try your luck.

  • They are the same company with Catch of the day… :(

Need to wait infront of the computer whole day and not sure when the deal begins… and site crashing and sold out within few mins

    URGHHHH

  • +2

deals are worth the effort … groupon's previous gift-card offerings have been much better.

    • Yeah hoping their proposed Apple deal is decent. These VIP events seem to get worse year after year with their quality of deals.

    • sorry, meant to say the deals are not worth the effort above ..

  • +4

    Great job tightarse +1

  • +1

    how to become vip?

    • I think it means existing customers only.

  • Thnx

  • I'm wondering how many gift cards will be set this time? From a rough guess 500-1000?

  • +5

Just from some Googling… the Sydney mystery hotel seems to be The Menzies? At $135, it's maybe a $40 saving, depending on the date of stay. Not sure that you couldn't find a similar hotel for less on the plethora of hotel booking sites, either.
The hotel deals were $60 last time. And $30 the time before that. Oh well.

    • +3

Yep definitely would be the Menzies, Scoopon had the same deal and price previously. Decent deal with the extras as well, quite an old hotel with old facilities but service and everything else is great.

      • The twice I've been there, there's been an early morning fire alarm :|
Third time in Sydney I went past and trucks were in attendance there.
Apart from that, the rooms are older but ok. Pools good, great location.

  • +3

I hope your 1009 url search was script based. The cricket didn't last very long.

  • Do we get the $10 BIG W Gift Card instantly?

    • +2

Do we get the $10 BIG W Gift Card instantly?

Your coupon code will be shown under the 'Special Instructions' section of your Scoopon PDF voucher, which will be available in your Scoopon account on 6 March 2015.

      • That's quite quilt. Especially if you order on the 5th March (I doubt they'll still be available then).

    • +1

Your BIG W eGift Card will be emailed to you on 6 March 2015

  • +1

    From the hotel deal…

Your Surprise Overnight Escape Includes Delicious Full Buffet Breakfasts Plus a Luxurious 1pm Late Check-Out!

I wonder how luxurious is 1pm checkout?

    • +1

The checkout counter I hear is quite luxurious…

  • +5

TA I don't know how you did this (I'm not tech savvy) but I think you've earned the title of "legend".

    • +9

TA has arguably saved us more cash for than any bank manager or financial advisor ever has!
Mr Abbott, you should've handed this man a Knighthood!

  • $10 Scoopon credit + Free $10 Big W Gift Card

that one is most attractive to me, thanks TA

  • -7

for the $10 free card: SORRY, DEAL NOT AVAILABLE.

  • Noted!

  • So let me get this straight, the 'Sheraton Mirage Resort with Airfares $499' deal is currently being sold from $499 for one person, but within the next couple of days its going to be from $499 for two people?

If so that's one damn good deal…

    • Too good to be true :(

  • +1

    What time does it start?

  • Well its 8am on 3rd march….deal not available????

  • Have stayed at the Menzies and for the price it is pretty good. It is an older hotel and the air con is not great (but you may not need air con the next few months anyway) for the price and breakfast, which is tasty, is included - it's a great deal, the cheapest for the Menzies online. Location is fantastic. Bar in the lobby has great specials during the week. So if you have Sydney trips planned soon jump on it.

  • +1

    Thanks for that Mogonite

  • +9

    Thanks OP :)

Btw just thought that I mention according to their terms and conditions

A minimum spend of $40 applies when redeeming your Scoopon coupon
Your coupon will be valid for use on the Scoopon website from 6 March 2015 to 27 March 2015.
Scoopon coupon cannot be used towards shipping costs
Limit of 1 Scoopon may be purchased for personal use

    • +4

Thanks for this info. Makes it no deal for me :(

  • +13

I was looking forward to the $10 Scoopon credit with Big W Gift card and $10 Scoopon credit with Caltex Woolworths gift card until I read the fine print for both:

A minimum spend of $40 applies when redeeming your Scoopon coupon.

That's a deal killer for me.

No offence to TA and thanks for the hard work in finding the exact deal links.

    • +1

Was just going to make the same point.

    • +2

Even worse, the minimum spend of $40 is after the coupon has been applied. Personally, I interpret that as being a minimum spend of $50. Revoking my plus.

      • +1

I agree. It says "Put your Scoopon value towards any purchase on Scoopon over $50"

  • +1

    Starts 3/3 12PM AEDT

  • +4

Thanks for pointing out the minimum $40 spend on Sccopon requirement. Think i would have missed reading that fine print !

    • +2

      Yeah that's a shame… I think I will pass this time.

  • +2

    It's on like donkey kong!

First Warning: $10 voucher/cards available from 3:30 (got a bit too excited, oops!)

Second Warning: Not sure I want to buy them now that it's really only a 25% off voucher :( See previous comments, the $10 scoupon voucher has a min $40 spend, and can only use one at a time.

    • Is that $40 in your cart or can only be used against one item of $40 or more?

Scoopon coupon value must be redeemed in one transaction – unused value will be forfeited. Coupon not exchangeable or redeemable for cash. Coupon value cannot be split across Scoopon Shopping and Scoopon Local & Travel purchases.

I imagine that means it can be used for multiple items of the one type (shopping, local ore travel).

    • 25% off voucher

      It's a maximum of 20% off ($10 off $50).

  • +2

Big W and Caltex cards available from 3:30pm AEDT.

  • What are those VIP codes? I can't find them anywhere VIPSAVE25 or something like that?

  • +1

I think the gift card deals are let down by the $10 Scoopon credit with a $40 min spend.

  • +1

Lol I was excited about this deal until I saw the Minimum spend of $50 thing.

  • Can the caltex card be used at any woolworths supermarket?

    • Possibly.

  • Shame, it is also not allowed use previous Scoopon vouchers got from Myer gift card deal. "Coupon is not valid at this time".

    • are you sure the code is not expired already?

      • Hoops. It happened again :). Thanks.

  • Any idea what their AMAZING Apple deal will be?

Despite the temptation of jokes about Granny Smiths, I am more interested in whether the deal will involve iDevices (could be a good deal) or iTunes coupons (comes up all the time).

  • I am not able to buy multiple scoopons and being restricted to buy only one. Anyone has this issue?

    • limit 1 per costumer-depending on the deal

  • +2

    Caltex has sold out

  • +1

Big W deal is now active

  • +1

Big Cards are selling quick! I got mine. Hopefully I can find something to spend the credit on. Otherwise it's no loss.

    • Between the deals and the sales, there should be something worthwhile…
even if it is more Quantum dishwasher tablets for me.

  • +2

Big w cards have sold out

  • +2

Only 650 cards for Big W.
    1000 for Caltex

  • +2

    Midnight reveal:
    Spend $70 receive $20 coupon
    Spend $120 receive $30 coupon
    Spend $170 receive $45 coupon

    • Excludes shipping cost. Must be a single transaction of shopping OR travel/local.

    • +3

Glad I missed the unmissable reveal then.

      • +1

Very missable if you ask me!

  • +2

COTD, Mumgo and GroceryRun $10 vouchers are up now.

    • You should mention up for free :)

  • This time they have set up minimum spend on every single thing, which makes this VIP event totally fail. Also not enough time to spend the credit.

  • Yep, its basically just a free shipping voucher with minimum spend.
They may also just jack up the prices or not run promotions in the next few weeks as well.
    We shall see…

  • Nice :)

  • Sold out :S

  • Has anyone received the coupon for the Flash Sale offer (e.g. Spend $170, get a $45 coupon) yet? We were supposed to have received it by now but I have not received mine. Thanks.
