Buy any video baby monitor. Don't limit to audio only. That's much much more useful.

Actually not 'any' video baby monitor. Get one comes with a view screen, not one needs to occupy your phone screen all the time.
You can use two iDevices as an AV monitor… paired with a baby monitor app. that's what we did…fantastic.
Which app did you use?
I know on android you can easily do this with ipcamera
