$20 of Bandit.fm Credit for $3.91

190

OK now this is cheating a bit, but it works :) I did itmyself the other day and scored the Ministry of Sound 2010 Annual for around $5 total (it's not even out in store yet)

Buy this album http://www.bandit.fm/service/lookup.do?fArtistId=409429&mpWi… it's considered an album and so you get free $20 credit as part of this promotion: http://www.bandit.fm/about/promotion-freecredit?id=LinkTK-Fa… (of course you get the album as well whether or not you like it)

You have to pay on credit card and not use any credit that already exists in your account

The $20 is automatically applied on your account to spend how you want! If anybody can find anything else that's considered an album that is cheaper, please tell!

    very nice find.

but be warned about the t+c.

after having a quick read, i noticed this:

The offer does not apply if you have existing credit on your account from recurring top-up credit, gift certificates, bandit.fm cards, promotional cards or any other voucher credit (Voucher Credit). Any existing Voucher Credit must be expended before you are able to participate in the offer.

To me, that means if you've got any credit from other promo's they've been doing recently (especially that $10/month for 4 months one that started in Sept) you won't be eligible for this offer.

I know I still have credit left over. Only use it for music videos and I can't think of any more I want.

    • You're write. That's why I put that part in bold. You could always buy a $2 song to use up that credit and then buy the album to get cheap credit.

  • yay works thanks heaps!

    Nice find.

I gave Bandit FM a go, my first digital music downloads were from there with the $20 promo before.

Sadly, I found quality to be mixed. Some were excellent, and a new album which was advertised as 320kbit actually had 16KHz cut-offs meaning it was either 128kbit/160kbit transcode.. really, charge me $15 for a transcoded album, even torrent sites have better quality control.

That said, some tracks were true 320kbit, some simply weren't.

    • That puts me off buying anything from Bandit FM.
Which sites would you recommend instead? eMusic, perhaps?

      • eMusic looks good but so many of the good websites (like Amazon, Zune) don't work in our country.

If they did, you could get all you can eat from Zune store with 10 tracks to keep per month for only $14.99 and you can share the pass with 3 people.

Unfortunately, short of iTunes (which I will never touch) I don't know what other options are available in Australia. It's pretty disappointing too. I'd love a Netflix like service but none to be seen.

Personally I'm just buying CDs. Often cheaper/same price as website and you have ultimate control over the quality.

  • This is from Sony Music…
Are you sure there are no evil rootkits or other malicious nasties? :-)

Great find for the credit if you were happy buying from them.
From a quick glance, it seems a bit more expensive than iTunes music.

  • although its more expensive than itunes, its not protected so you can play it from any media player as opposed to just your ipod/iphone

    Nice find.

    deal just got better: http://www.bandit.fm/service/lookup.do?fChannelId=2&fArtistI…

It costs $2.53 and the guy is an aussie (apparently).

    • And he is "EVERYBODY'S Favorite HipHop Artist!" Can't beat that quality! :P
