  • What's the customers feedback on this thing? Carpet?hardwood?tile?

I don't think any of them do a great job on carpet but our irobot is great on hardfloors.

      • the iRobot is 10 times the price though. This is probably a glorified toy?

From the video, it looks like it just goes round in circles

      its an igenie not igenius

Hard floors they are great, I had the x10 this looks similar…battery lasts about 2 years then dies fast

Are they supposed to talk out loud the entire time they are charging? I'm not kidding, got Dad one for his small unit, when it's on charge, it keeps repeating "Starting Charge", over and over, quite loudly.

I think it will be going back…

Also, these don't have hard or carpet floor rollers in them. They only have a suction hole that the sweepers are supposed to brush the crud towards. I can't see that doing a very good job. Even the cheap Aldi ones have rollers for both floor types.

Was given an equivalent generic cheapie about a year ago. Worked 'OK' on our hard floors but just kept getting stuck on rug edges or getting caught under furniture so you may have to make a lot of changes to your home if you expect it to be hassle free. The biggest problem however was cleaning it! We have a couple of fluffy long-haired cats which obviously doesn't help but it meant that we had to spend about 10-15 minutes pulling the thing apart to clean out all the small bits & pieces after each 20-30 minute cleaning session. Great concept but really only good if you are bald, have no pets and only have hard floors without rugs! It did make me wonder how the $1000+ units deal with these issues though, maybe they're just the same but with fancier batteries & motors?!

  • You have to prep the area to be cleaned so it doesn't get stuck, when it's done you have to put it away, constant changing of the small filter

Not sure it's more useful than a hand vacuum?

    Is it pet friendly?

i bought a cheapy robot vac - hoover brand. it was terrible. waste of time and money.

bought a neato xv-21. it has been great. even though it cost over double the price, and I have had to replace the batteries , no regrets for spending that much money (and I am a total tightarse)

  • JUST bought a different model on ebay for $70 which was the best available… now this… FML…

Now planning to get the Piranha and sell the other one again

  • Anyone got or seen a Samsung Powerbot VR9000?

  • DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING THIS!!! JUST BUY IT!!!

It comes with TWO HEPA filters (one as a spare), auto adjustable vacuum strength, a self-docking/auto-recharge base station. A long-life NI-MH battery, REMOTE CONTROL in case it misses a spot or you just want to screw with your pets, comes with spare floor brushes etc etc etc.

This thing OOZES quality!!! You'd be hard pressed to find a heavy unit like this under $250.

I just bought one and have to charge it for 12 hours but this thing is BRILLIANT! (I don't know what it's like vacuuming, but it should be a pearler).

GET IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!

    • Forgot to mention, 12 hour charge time is for the first time :) After that about 4 hours and it's good to go again! (If only my boyfriend was like that).

You do need to leave it 'on' for it to charge, otherwise it keeps saying 'battery full, battery full, battery full'. Minor, minor issue. I thought I had a broken unit but it's good to go :)

I'm so tempted to buy another for a gift. 12 month warranty too!

Just got one, so far so good. Wait and see after work if it has redocked. For me at 89$ is a good test price.

I have tile floors, unable to use the barrier yet don't have any batteries for it.

    • Update yes it works, and it works well. Only small problem is the control panel has stop responding, so I just use the control from now on.

Note, only been stuck on shaggy carpet and a bar stool that has a cone base with incline.

      • If it has, return it back to Kmart and exchange it or call the number in the manual. There is a 12 month warranty on this unit

  • HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER!!! THIS THING IS BRILLIANT!!!

It's currently working it's arse off sucking up everything off the tiles, the remote works brilliantly…

Man oh man this thing is AWESOME!!!

    At $89, BUY IT!!!

  • This is NOT a Piranha!!!

It is a Lilin X-800/B2000!!!!!!! One of the top cleaners in the whole of China!!!!!!

It's all about the price :) It's great quality, charge it up and you'll be pleased

  • Bit the bullet, impressed, seems to have some logic programmed in, does not just go in circles as appeared in video, looks like it maps out the area, very happy with it
