  • If you order online from the Dick Smith main web site don't forget there's a $5.95 delivery charge.

In that case the $53.99 + $4.95 delivery from Dick Smith eBay store would be better if you want to save $1 on total order charge.

I was thinking more of buying it in person as there are many dicksmith and jb hi fi outlets around Australia, either way the mouse is still quite cheap.

i bought this mouse last week, returned it after 2 hours. so uncomfortable.

exchanged it for the razer deathadder chroma instead

    • Yeah. I just bought a Razer Deathadder World of Tanks edition off eBay the other day. Should be a good mouse that one.

I used to own a Logitech G700s mouse. It was a load of garbage since the laser sensor itself died less than a year after purchase.

      • +1

You didn't have it fixed/replaced under warranty?

        • No lost the receipt and in any case would also take too long to get a warranty fix/replacement on an 11 month old mouse. Besides i ended up getting sick of having to recharge a mouse battery every 2 days and the supplied USB cable was just way too thick and caused too much friction on the desk to use properly with the mouse in gaming so the mouse dying was a blessing. Easier to buy a new mouse that didn't suck and didn't require batteries. Razer Deathadder is much better.

    • Yeah that's what I thought… Looks so uncomfortable… I have a Razer Deatheradder 2013 and while I have some issues with it, it's comfortable and nice to use when it works. The issues I have is sometimes it doesn't work at start-up but does after a few hours. I bought this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/175907 as a back-up for $1 profit and while it gets the job done, anymore than 2hrs makes my hand sore (mainly because it's too small).

I had the Razer DA and went for the G502 after the back started peeling. No issues so far.

      • Yep I went from the Razer DA to G502 and actually find the G502 to be more comfortable.

    • +3

I personally find the G502 very comfortable - I guess it depends on your hand size and grip style :P

    • My deathadder broke after 6 months so thought I would give the G502 a try. Not a bad mouse, just nowhere near as comfortable as the DA.

    • I have the deathadder Esport edition, it is good for big hand/pam. CSGO is my main game. Used to play many games on my Naga epic, but that one has nothing good expect 12 buttons for arena macro…

  • How does this compare to the g500s? I have that mouse and the mousewheel has started locking up, so I'm looking to upgrade/replace

    • I went from a G500 to a 502. I prefer the G502, however, the free scrolling mode on my 502 is dodgy as one side of the wheel is heavier than the other (so it rolls back a bit if I unlatch the mouse wheel). Other than that the mouse is great.

    • the g502 would be a good replacement however not so much of an upgrade. just better sensors, appearance, material etc. if you cant deal with your mousewheel issue then go for the upgrade otherwise stick with the g500s. i own the g500 myself and id say its the best mouse before its successor(g502)

  • I have this mouse, I love this mouse.

Apparently those people that have a 'claw' style mouse grip are quite uncommon. I am one of those people. I have a Corsair Vengeance mouse also and despise it. I gave it 3 months to get used to and nope…

How you hold the mouse is a big factor in it being a good mouse for you. Goto a store and hold it first would be my recommendation.

    • +1

Yes, this is really true, I got a bit of a claw/palm hybrid and it's really comftable for me. The corsair vengeance mouse is also quite nice.

  • I bought it for $89 and I'd say it's worth it at even that price point, so at this price it's a must have. I used to have a G400 and this is a massive upgrade once you get used to the new sensor.

  • I have this and im using it right now. Its a great mouse never have a problem with it.. the weight stuff makes it even more comfortable to move it around. I use it for over a year now

  • +1

I have this mouse for over half year, love it! It's a nice upgrade from G400. (i am mostly finger grip)

  • -4

Cheeses!! I nearly got trapped into buying this.

Love this mouse… use this and the G602.

Not a bad price, got mine for $45 during the 20% ebay sale: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/170606?page=5#comment-2403…

  • Tried to order a couple. With a total of $107.98 should be able to apply the HOWZAT20 code to bring it down to $87.98, although it didn't work.
Couldn't find it on the exclusions list, perhaps I missed it.
Have sent them an email to ask why(under $45 each would be great).

    • I did notice that the HOWZAT codes' banner, top left, say 'online only'
Possible that you tried to buy two G502s for click and collect ? Maybe try the two G502s online (add shipping) and then try the code and see if that's any better

      • Not about online, code works fine for Click and Collect Lumia 735. Does not work on any of the Logitech Promo products. Dick has got smarter.

Nice template reply that doesn't resolve the issue above. Thanks Dick!

"Thank you for taking time to email Dick Smith online. We are sorry to hear that you are having difficulty placing an order, sometimes errors do occur for which we apologise. With regards to your inquiry, please be advised that it is currently awaiting for stock and there's no specific time of arrival from the supplier. We may suggest to visit our website https://www.dicksmith.com.au/customer/account/create/ if you would like to be notified about product updates and special offers or we also suggest that you visit our website and search for alternate items you might be interested in to have delivered to you. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding in this matter." … June C

TLDR: We don't give a crap. Unlucky that our system sucks and we will continue to spam your email address with offers that don't actually work.

Not only that, but the product actually is available (there's stock online and in store). … Wrong template maybe? Perhaps CBF Monday?

  • I'm not a heavy gamer (but I do play cs go) and I wanted a new mouse for general everyday use (with a bit of light gaming). Is this a good option or should I go for something cheaper?

    • I'm using the wireless G700s and I rarely ever game, absolutely love it.

    • This is a good mouse and pretty much around as cheap as it gets for a mouse of similar quality. Some other alternatives are the Steelseries Rival, Logitech G400(Also G400s), Razer Deathadder 2013. To find a better price you would probably have to go to a computer store but even then it'd probably only be a few $ cheaper.

    • Optical mouses are better for FPS imo. So G400s is a good option, its better than my G600.

    • If you want a nice premium, comftable (depending on grip) mouse with a bunch of extras, then yea. If not, a cheap 10-20$ generic mouse is fine. I suggest going to a shop and asking to hold it to see if you find it comftable or not.

    • +1

getting this mouse would be the best option imo

    • Yeh I'll probably get this mouse. Hope I get used to the ergonomics and all the random buttons on the side.

    • Love mine, great for CS:GO and general use. The on the fly DPI change buttons make it really easy to up the speed when you launch a game.

The sniping mode button is also good for CS, though I felt guilty using it and stopped.

I have had this mouse for just over a month now. My immediate first impression was dislike at the back button. It seemed small and difficult to press compared to my MX518 and G400s. But I got used to it by the end of the first day and couldn't remember why it felt awkward in the first place. Strange how fast we adapt lol. Everything else felt really similar to the MX518/G400s in regards to the shape so definitely no complaints there.

Anyway, the main reason I upgraded from my G400s to this was for the Gmod key. I love how it doubles the functionality of the other keys. With autohotkey, I set it up so:
Gmod + left click sends a window behind other windows
Gmod + right click toggles a window between maximised and restore(normal size)
    Dpi up/down is copy/paste
Gmod + dpi up/down moves a window between predefined window positions I set up in autohotkey. (A cheap version of a window tiling manager)
Gmod + Scroll wheel left/right moves left/right or up/down between workspaces

Not to mention how you can customise each buttons' behaviour to be different depending on which program is active with Logitech's software (or with autohotkey).

10% extra value on DSE gift cards =)

  • Question to anyone with this mouse for a while, my hands aren't very forgiving on mouse in terms of sweat and oils that gunk up my current MS3, making it feel sticky and generally yuck. Does the surface of the g502 have the same problem or is does it repel the oils? Thanks

    • Not a fanboy or anything but having used deathadder, G9x and imperator. After 4 months of heavy use (CSGO) this is the best mouse overall by far. The fit feels perfect for my hands, and logitech did so well in all aspects of the mouse. You might want to try the feel and grip of the mouse before purchasing as the shape is unique at first but you will get used to it fast. Weights are included in the package but I find that the mouse is heavy enough by itself. Regards to dirt that builds up on your mouse, this mouse has the same problem especially dirt building up on the right side of the mouse. Hope this helps

      • Dirt I'm not concerned with too much, but does it feel oily and sticky after extended use, especially after a game or something where your hand is sweating a bit? Im more concerned about the sticky feeling when theres built up oil on the mouse surface and making the mouse feel yuck. Thanks!

        • I don't have sweaty hands so I can't say much but I've never felt that the mouse ever feels sticky or oily especially after close and intense games =)

    • I know what you mean since my Razer DA had the same issue. I've used the G502 for a few months and it doesn't have the same problem. Most likely this is because it is plastic and not rubber.

    • I have sweaty hands and have been using this mouse for about 5 months now. The material is very nice and doesn't feel oily at all.

  • good mouse good price

if you are looking for a simple ergo mouse i recommend the deathadder 2013 under $50 (only razer product i would use)

some say the DA quality is a hit and miss but mine is fine. remember you also have within 7 days to return the item for a refund or exchange if the thing is faulty anyway

  • I bought it a few days ago. Great mouse for $54. Worthy successor to my G9X.

  • Been using this mouse for a few months. It was a little strange at first coming from a thinner Razer mouse but I absolutely love the rubberised plastic feel over pure plastic. My one gripe is that with my claw grip I can't comfortably reach the DPI shift button (which I think palm users would have no trouble with).

  • Literally bought a g602 today…looks like one of the kids dropped my g9x (Will be opening up tonight to see if it's salvagable).

Opened this page holding my hand in my heart.

Bought the G602 for $62 from MSY. So the $59 here isnt that much of a bargain…

  • +1

Picked up my G502, loving the free scroll wheel (except when I'm CTRL-clicking links to open in new tabs and it magnifies to 1000x).

I was using a Corsair Vengence M65, which is a bit bulkier and I found with my grip I couldn't reach the sniper button. The G502 has better dimensions for my grip, however not liking the plastic jiggling inside this mouse (not sure what it is, it's not the weights). Makes it feel cheap. The M65 is quite solidly built, shake the mouse and there's nothing jiggling or any noise.

    Overall quite happy with it.

EDIT: actually I'm still having trouble a little trouble reaching that sniper button the G502

    • +1

thats a good thing since you shouldn't be using the sniper button while playing games

    • +1

Protip: You can middle click links to open in new tab and you can middle click tabs to close tabs.

      • cool tip!
Shame that scroller button is quite rigid to press.

    • Figured out it's actually the scroll wheel that is jiggling.

  • In case anyone sees this. I need a cheap but hopefully reliable (can be wired or wireless, but if it is wireless I need some usb to usb charging, don't want to waste time on some eneloops) mouse hopefully for under $20 or $10 or $15 if you can do it.

Basically to cut it short my old one which I have been using for nearly over 5 years now stopped working.. wire fraying and I don't have the necessary tools to fix it. (buying a brand new soldering iron is completely out of the question haha.. I just need a new laptop mouse).

So yeah if anybody has any ideas or know of some good places currently right now with some good bargains on mices.. give me a call! (or just reply to this message haha.. :P)

    Thank you.
