HTC One M9 32GB $880 from The Good Guys eBay Store

300
CTECH20

Hey guys,

Understand that
1. There's already an ebay master thread
2. This deal isn't live yet

But thought i'd share with all those that are looking to buy the HTC M9. The Goodguys store has just listed the HTC M9 for $1099! - if things go well tomorrow (no changes), we can use the discount code to bring that to $880. Given the weak AUD, i think that's an amazing price.

For those lucky enough - use the target pre-sale code CVIP24H to get the deal now!

Note: I do not like this cellphone though, it's only for those who are looking for the HTC M9. Personally, I'd rather go Xperia Z3c or S6 edge.

Note2: Mods, apologies if this deal is not valid, just thought it's quite standout given that the HTC M9 was just listed and released - really don't think you can find aussie stock cheaper than that. Please feel free to delete if this thread doesn't add any value.

Cheers,
Jack

Also note that those that received the pre-sale code can use this deal now!

    CVIP24H

    • How did people get the pre-sale?

      • I think it's targetted - not sure how they selected.

    anyone actually buying this phone?

I was hoping to, but the reviews of it say that the camera is a POS and the M8 takes better pictures - the dual 4MP cameras on the rear give better colours and lighting.

      • Yeah it's not much of an upgrade, apparently the battery doesn't hold as much charge either.

HTC cameras are POS, based on what they've been producing. Period.

        http://www.phonearena.com/news/Nokia-Lumia-930-wins-our-blin…

I mean, the new HTC One M9's camera, did very bad in this blind test, even compared to last year's Galaxy S5. Very bad…

…GOod luck HTC in the future, but seriously sort out your camera.

        • It's such a shame, after 2 Samsungs and a Nokia the M7 out performs the bollocks out of the others. The only thing wrong is the camera.

I've had this phone for a little over 24 hours now.

I am still giving it a few full charges before I make a complete judgement about the battery life. HOWEVER, within my past 24 hours of usage, battery life is not great and it is taking a hell of a long time to charge (3-ish hours from 0% to 100%). Not sure if this is normal, but again, I am still giving it a few full charges first before I draw a conclusion.

    Camera:
Like most people say, the camera kinda sucks and performs poorly in low light. (Super grainy, potato-like quality) HTC claims it is a software issue and they're pumping out updates so hopefully it will improve. If the camera is a huge deal to you, I would consider another phone.

    • Thanks for the honest review.
I have an M7 at the moment (which tbh still performs amazingly) but I'm getting the itch to get a new phone. The only gripe I have with the M7 is the creepy photo quality, so upgrading to this would probably be pointless.

        Lol *crappy photo quality

          lol, i prefer creepy

Isn't the discount a maximum of $100? ie 20% off to a maximum of $500 purchase? Edit: maybe I'm wrong; T&Cs say $500 discount per transaction which makes it much better than ebay's December 2014 sale.

I would recommend avoiding M9 and any handset with Qualcomm 810 chipset due to overheating issue and aggressive thermal throttling

  • The look of the phone hasn't changed since M7. Is this the design HTC have settled on?

    • They said they wanted to create a timeless, iconic design for the One range, sort of like Porsche 911s. But Peter Chou has stepped aside as CEO, and the lead designer guy has left, so I don't imagine we'll be seeing such a similar reiteration for HTC's flagship next year.

      • Honestly, I don't like the added thickness of the curved back. Make it flat and I'll think about it.

Also, remove the HTC logo from the bottom front and bring back the menu button.

  • OK let me rephrase that. Yes, this is the cheapest you can get with large quantities of stock.

However, if you go to gumtree you can buy the exact same phone with the exact same warranty for another 5% - 10% less more savings than the price after the 20% off on ebay. Ie. To add to the original mod's post, you can get aussie stock cheaper than the posted price here.

    • Taken straight from the HTC Warranty Statement:

"This limited warranty is given only to the original purchaser of the product ("customer"). This limited warranty may, however, be transferred to any individual to whom the product is sold, where HTC has consented in writing to the transfer (and HTC will not unreasonably refuse consent.)"

  • If you call up, you'll find that means HTC will honour the warranty as long as the buyer has the original receipt.
