Who didn't know this post was coming?

Those are all the crappy Chinese eneloops (no matter what the photos show).
If you want good batteries, the FUJITSU ones http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FUJITSU-Ready-to-Use-Rechargeable… are a much better choice.

Yep, all Australian Eneloops (of any appearance) are now Chinese.

I've been eying the Panasonic (Eneloop Pros, made in Japan), they are in the same category as the Fujitsu's each made by Eneloop Japan. Doesn't appear that we can use CTECH20 on any of those though :(

Like yourself, I'm not interested in Chinaloops. That's what the name should have changed to.

Also very dishonest of DSE not updating their images - suggesting they are selling Japanese stock, which they certainly aren't.

EDIT: Tempted by these Eneloop Pros (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/eneloop-Pro-Rechargable-AA-4Pk-/2…) But applying my own logic above, they're most likely Chinaloops :/
EDIT2: Found this handy PDF (http://www.master-instruments.com.au/files/news/eneloop_re_b…) which suggests the Eneloop Pros I linked above are JAPAN! If so, that makes these are BARGAIN. Tempted to C&C to find out…..

    • The Fujitsu are still made by FDK in Japan. Also, Masters still have the Jap Eneloops from FDK!

  • Whats the difference between the ones made in China vs Japan?

EDIT - Page 3 from the PDF shows it..

Some extensive tests at Candlepower forums (battery gurus) have shown the Chinese versions die much quicker (charge cycles). However discharge rates aren't much different - the figure that most OzBargainer's probably care about.

That said, I would still rather Japanese Eneloops.

I posted a new deal for ENELOOP PRO's here:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/188260

Still trying to determine if these are JAPAN/CHINA. Could be a true bargain if Japanese.

FWIW, if anyone reads this, we concluded the Eneloop Pros for $12.59 are made in JAPAN.

Cheapest I've ever seen them for, just understand the differences of normal and Pro product line before buying, notably the 500 charge cycle instead of 1800+ on others.

        • Yep, silly buying the Pros if you're only going to use them in remotes, kids toys, etc. You'd probably be better off with the Chinese ones!

        • @Snoop:

Absolutely. Poor investment for the wrong purpose :)

Best application I can think of is high end DSLR cameras. Flash lights and other things could be valid reasons.

If you can't think of a reason, DONT buy them, get more 'Chinaloops' and save your money ;)

  • Any had these ship yet? Been a couple weeks now. I sent the dicksmithonline eBay seller a message yesterday, but haven't had a reply yet.

    • They replied:

"Sorry for the delay. The reason we have not shipped the unit is due to the order file pending to us from eBay platform. This has been fixed now and we will be dispatching shortly. Apologies for the matter."

Have now shipped and I have received the Toll tracking #
