    • This is not the Sailing.

        I tried. I failed.

      • What's the difference between a Sailing and a non-sailing?

        • One doesn't sail.

  • Powerful Booster? :>

  • I've got a Romoss sailing 3 (7800mAh), its a pretty good little unit. I've dropped it a few times and it still works, and aesthetically, it feels better than those Xiaomi ones, not so metallic.

Its got a two USB ports to charge your device from, one more "powerful" at 2.1 A and a 1.0 A port.

Picked one up on the last sale scorptec had. Solid build quality and the flash light is very handy!

  • Bought one of those while I was in Akihabara for $20, they are awesome and the build quality is pretty nice.

    "perfectly charge mp3's and mp4s"

  • Finally in market for another powerbank.
So is this better than Xiaomi? Xiaomi seems better value (cheaper)

Why would I choose this over Xiaomi?

    • The form factor (long instead of wide), the 4-LED battery indicator, dual charging ports (the second port is only 1A though), and the built-in torch. edit: oh wait, this model doesn't have a torch!

The plastic case could be a plus or minus. The good thing about plastic is that (imho) it looks better when scratched, and if you keep it in your pocket next to your phone while charging, it isn't likely to scratch your phone.

Also, this one has a very … stunning sync charge. Absolutely stunning.

      • It does have a torch.

I have one of these … it keeps its charge very well. I really like it.

Used it just yesterday with my samsung tablet. I was doing some stuff outside the house, and watched the cricket all day with this powerbank plugged in. Beats getting a long extension cord..!

        • It does have a torch.

Hmm, where is it? My sofun 1 does, but this sailing 4 doesn't seem to have one. Maybe you have the sofun 4?

        • @eug:
Mine is definately the Sailing 4, and definately has torch.
Interesting, looks like the model shown on the Romoss website is different to mine. Maybe that's an "upgraded" model.
If you go to the Scorptec link, you'll see that there are two different images. The one at the top, and the one in the "Features" section (which is the same as Romoss website). You'll see that the positioning of buttons on each one is different. Mine looks exactly the same as the image at the top. If you look at the third image at the top, you'll see that the button has a torch icon on the left of it.
My suspicion is that Romoss has changed the design and removed torch functionality, and Scorptec have forgotten to update the main image with this new model.
Might have been easier if they called it the Sailing5 .. !
I purchased mine from this deal last year. Also notice the OP mentions the LED torch..

  • is there 2 models for this item?

edit: only asking because the first picture in the item description has Button LED Charging port… but when you scroll down to product description its a different unit altogether with Charging port Button LED…

from that alone I'm really questioning its authenticity…

  • I just checked their Romoss site and they've just released a newer model called the polymos 5, 10 and 20 which comes in 5000, 10000, 20000mAh, respectively. A bit lighter and thinner and slightly better efficiency rating. I did a quick ebay and found a seller in SA selling the 10,000mAh polymos model for $35.90 + free shipping. So not sure which is the better deal :\

The new ones comes with CNC alu. alloy body instead of plastics.
      Go for it!

  • I got one of these from Scorptec in their last sale.

It is a complete POS and will not charge my IPAD 3rd gen.

So either your iPad is faulty, your cable to the iPad is faulty or the charger is faulty so if it's the latter why not take advantage of your warranty and get it REPLACED instead of complaining and calling it a POS?

It's not hard to check your charger works or not.
