Quite a few people looking for the Lumia 530 unlocked in the BigW post so here's a cheapish one.
Usually about $120 unlocked but can be had cheaper on Voda and possibly unlocked right away.
The price is around $10 more than buying the $40 Safeway Telstra locked phone and waiting 6 months to pay the unlocking fee.
I went with the Huawei Y550 deals going, $4 to unlock, it's got 4G, comes with 3GB data (in time for school holidays). The Nokia is windows phone so not as many free apps as andrpoid, it's 3G, and the screen is bad in sunlight (have the nokia 630 ….. useless outdoors in sunlight)

Unless you are using the $29 to $39 locked Nokia 530 purely for music and Navigation, the Huawei Ascend Y550 with $50 starter Cap Pack is a better deal. For some, they might really want the exclusive Nakia Drive and music features, but otherwise the Y550 unlocked for $42.53 to $53 is a better choice.

That would come down purely to personal preference. Either way, all these three phones ( un/locked Lumia 530's and Y550 ) are good bargains, think about use first and take your pick. See my comment above.
Yep my post was in reply to people looking for an unlocked 530 from that post. Personally I prefer Android but we all have our own preferences.
I would still prefer the Vodafone Y550 in the 50-100 price range.
Better specced, and for $49 from DSE plus unlocking at $3-4, it's still less than $55. Has more RAM, bigger screen, better processor, and also has 4G.
You can also sell the SIM pack on eBay (DSE and KMart ones come with a $50 starter pack) and it will further reduce the net cost of the device to you.

This one has worked for me. Unlocked 5 phones, codes were sent back quickly and price is decent at $3.25
Hmm. For me, a bit expensive for an MP3 player which has phone/internet functionality (even if it is unlocked).
