Lenard's $6.99/Kg Chicken Breast Fillets Skin on E-Coupon Valid until 20th December

240

Lenard's has published their Chicken Fillet skin on special again for $6.99 per kg - limit 3kg per person.

This was popular last time it was published so I thought there might be some interest in the lead up to X-mas.

Details available here:

http://www.lenards.com.au/coupons.aspx

Note, the web site says the special lasts until 20th December but the coupon I have when printed out says valid until 29th November 2009. I will hassle Lenard's and let you know what I find out. May need to change the expiry date depending on what they tell me.

You need to sign up for the coupon club before you can print the coupon. Also a tip - when you get your coupon print multiple copies, you can only access it once!!

The promotion reads:

"$6.99 Chicken Breast Fillets e-Coupon - As advertised on TV

Your $6.99 Chicken Breast Fillets (skin on) will be emailed to you immediately on completing the form below. Please print the e-Coupon and present at your local Lenard’s to redeem.

Terms & Conditions: Valid 11/11/09 to 20/12/09. While stocks last. Personal shoppers only. Limit one coupon per customer. Coupon must be presented to redeem offer. Maximum 3kg per customer. Not valid in conjunction with any other offer."

General consensus last time was Lenards Chicken is a really nice cut. Not much "chunky bits" attached to the fillet. I too have a butcher that sells chicken cheap but there always seems to be some nasty bits attached to the fillet. I'm sure your butcher doesn't do that but it's worth noting.

Also, I find with skin on you can BBQ chicken fillets better. They retain moisture on an open flame. You can peel the skin off when done. Mmmmm

The skins the best bit. Without it you may as well be eating the paper it's wrapped in. The breast is the most overpriced piece of the chicken because most meat and two veg aussies can't eat anything else. Great deal anyway

    • Geez it takes like 30 seconds to remove the skin off a fillet.

Skin free for $6/kg? There must be a compromise in quality…

  • Just got the email too. Not a bad special. Cheapest I've seen it in Sydney.

    • Did your coupon say expires on 29/11/09 - mine did. Web site says expires 20 Dec.

  • Skin on sucks…the skin on these fillets are probably thick too (which adds to the weight) cmon Leonards, $7.50 skin off, now that would be a great deal!

    I love this Google ad that showed up when I looked at this page;

Careful, I seem to recall the Government having a Bird Flu warning still active for there.

    • Classic! That just made my day.

Who would dare vote that post down :)

    • If its a sponsored link - CLICK it, cost the marketing department at Flight Centre for keyword spamming adwords.

    • Same thing showed up for me!!

      MAMA MILIO!

+1. Tis a shame I missed out on that one thanks to Adblock.

  • Would be a good deal but I hate, hate, hate the skin on on chicken. I can't stand it anymore.

    Voting positive though.

  • Much cheaper than anything I've seen around here in Townsville. Whilst the skin is annoying, it's still cheaper than having to pay $10+/kg around the place for stuff at Coles/Woolies that looks like it's seen better days.

For anyone wanting to bypass the coupon club:

They didn't ask for details before and the same voucher worked multiple times.

  • Bah not impressed the butchers at Chadstone canter in Melbourne have this price every day of the week, nothig special

  • Is Lenards chicken free range or organic?

    • +2

Looked this up for you on the Lenard's web site…

      Q: Are your chickens organic?
A: Organic chicken is not used to make Lenard's products. Organic certification is a complex process and Lenard's is not a retailer of organic products.

Q: Do you supply free-range birds?

A: Free-range chicken is not used to make the general range of Lenard's products. If requested by customers and where demand can be demonstrated, some stores do sell free-range chicken and this would be clearly identified by its packaging. Free-range chicken is identified with the Free Range Egg & Poultry Association logo.

Q: What is the difference between free-range and regular birds?
A: Regular meat chickens are raised in large, purpose-built chicken sheds where the chickens are able to roam at will with easy access to food and water. Free-range chickens are free to roam in the external environment but are generally housed from sunset to sunrise as protection from predators. Free-range chickens are free to forage outdoors but are generally fed indoors to discourage predators.
