[Kogan] Kingston 16GB DataTraveler MicroDuo USB 2.0 Flash Drive $5

1420

Seems a good price with free shipping. Only USB 2 but it's cheap.
[Edit] Thanks to multiple people pointing out - the USB 3 version is only $2 more but sold out very quickly.

Perfect for storing large files and accessing on your tablet or smartphone.

Supports USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality
Expanded storage for tablets and smartphones
For Android 4.0+ devices with USB OTG support
Easily transfer and back up files, photos and videos to free up space
Great for storing large files, including movies and music libraries, while travelling

The Kingston DataTraveler MicroDuo Flash Drive provides additional storage in a small, convenient form factor for tablets and smartphones that support the USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality. The USB OTG standard allows mobile devices to directly connect to supported USB devices.

The DataTraveler allows microUSB ports, often used for charging devices, to be used as expansion ports for up to 64GB of additional storage. Ideal for storing large files while traveling, DTDUO gives plug-and-play functionality to tablets and smartphones without microSD ports at a lower price per GB than the extra built-in storage on a mobile device.

With smartphones and tablets recording HD video and taking higher resolution photos, space on these devices gets used up faster than ever. DTDUO Flash drives let users move files, photos, videos and more – without plugging into a PC – to offload or backup content. Sharing large files between mobile devices is easier than using online cloud services, and there’s no need for a cable to transfer data between the device and a PC.

I'm probably a bit slow - but I only just realised that these things are standard USB on one end and micro-USB on the other.

    • Which makes it even better.

    • +2

Not as slow as the time dilation experienced by Cooper and Brand.

      • Yes, but was that slow? - or super fast? I mean about 80 years went past in a few hours/days.

        • I guess Romilly was the one who was affected by it.

  • USB 3.0 seems to still be available. Just bought one.

    • Not working anymore. The item simply disappears in cart.

  • usb 3 is indeed back but 'low stock'.

a quick google makes me think it's a slowish drive either way, so the extra $2 might not be worth it, might grab the 2 and plug it into my white wii u :)

  • Would they be ok for xbox 360?

  • 16gb usb 3 sold out

Edit ended up getting the USB 2 version. Will be using this for roms so the faster speed of USB 3 won't make much of a difference

32GB USB 3.0 for 15 available again - just purchased one

  • Make sure u choose the right one, the
Same version usb2.0 selling at the same price $15 too

  • Bought 2. Thanks OP.

  • do ppl actually use this to increase their phone/tablet's capacity? or just simply as a usb stick?

    • I bought it not realising it was a duo. So I just thought it was a cheap USB. I suppose if I was really desperate to watch a film on my phone I could save some films to it?

      • yea that's y i was asking, cos wouldnt it be sticking out and if you knock it may break the usb port/the stick itself???!

    • Hoping to use it to expand capacity for my new Huawei y550 from HN offer. If it works for that.

I already have too many, but still I bought this one, reason is cheap. Thanks OP.
