    • +1

I think it's grey regardless. Ba dum tsch

  • Lol if it's coming from China, you better check how much mercury is in it before eating.

    • don't forget to check HEP-A-B-C-D…Z

    • Don't worry, it has a 12 month warranty against such product failures!

I don't think it's Mercury that people should be worried about.

The stuff chickens into cans now .. If that makes you feel better about being an anti fish eater.

        • I'm a hippy because I face reality? OK mate.

        • -1

@figarow: Sorry, your not a hippy, that was childish of me.
I love to fish, eat fish, and encourage others to eat them as its more economical to produce and consume than its equivalent weight in red meat.(which is also delicious)
          Plus a great man once sang;
"It's ok to eat to eat fish, cause they dont have any feelings"-Kurt Cobain.
          Thats reality.

        • @ozy: I think he does have a point about radiation. After all, Fukushima did go through a melt-through and no one knows how much radioactive waste got into the ocean. Not to mention, tuna is fairly high up in the food chain, so they probably are more prone to accumulation than other smaller fishes.

That being said, I think we've already have ruined the ocean badly as is, I am not too sure whether Fukushima would be detrimental or anything more severe than what we've done so far, with Bikini island and everything else.

        • @AznMitch:
Rubish, factory waste, old cars & our poo are just some of the things fish live in, and eat.
If we dont eat them, then they are usless to humans and will go unnoticed, leaving them to either mutate into ninjas or go extinct.(or flourish in numbers filtering the sea of all bad things?)
Lets enjoy the food in the world and savour every last piece (or can) we have.
Now as for the bargain, its good, but I prefer johnwest, with tomato&onion flavor, to me its worth the extra 19c

@ozy: As I've said, we've had our shares in damaging the environment. We've done so much damage that, I frankly don't think there are any food that we can eat that is completely safe.

I don't go and say, "We shouldn't eat tuna" or anything like that, even though Fukushima technically is, at least on par, with Chernobyl incident, at least according to the International Nuclear Event Scale. But also, I don't go and say, you are a hippy for saying "We shouldn't eat tuna".

        • @AznMitch: Fukushima is not dealt with as most assume, in fact it is getting worse every day. The problem is so bad that we could see much more devastation yet. I urge you to take a look for yourself, mainstream media does not report on it anymore.

@figarow: I know, melt-through was on one of the reactors (I frankly thought melt-through represents that they've f!@#ed up big time, since they have no clue where it have went) and my home country is right next to it. What Japs did was update the law (特定秘密の保護に関する法律案, special security law) so that they can hide the information on what's happening.

In hindsight, I should've used present tense in my comment.

      • Just a heads up: That graph you linked actually shows the tsunami wave energy as a result of the 2011 earthquake. It has nothing to do with radiation and was misappropriated and relabelled for the purpose of disseminating fear, uncertainty and doubt.

        http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RgYvkb1ifZQ/UiYaWPbkxoI/AAAAAAAAEJ…

        • Yes I already know that :P I use it to jolt people. Reality is that graph might not be as far fetched as it looks. Fish, star fish, coral etc are all being killed off in different parts of the world, there are radio active particles that could only come from the Japan reactor are being found all over the place. They are raising the "accepted" levels of radiation to help buffer the situation. Here are a couple of informative uploads on the situation today 1 & 2. There are many more on youtube, people are really concerned about this.

If its the same one I'm holding in my hand, its from Thailand. Not that that makes it any better for toxins
Big problem with these is the tuna looks like it was put through a blender. I like to put it through a strainer, and push it together if im putting it on a sandwhich.
Still worth what I paid for it (70c from NQR)

  • All your tuna is canned "made" in Thailand…check every single can next time you go shopping. There's not even an option anymore.

  • Do we have to send it back overseas for warranty purposes?

  • Does anyone know if this is new or refurbished? What's warranty like?
