  • I didn't know Qantas cancelled this service. With sale fares for $400, I'm sure it'll be the roaring success it was before they left the market.

Good times too, gets in Singapore at 5:20pm and return flight gets in Perth at 11:40pm which shouldn't be too much time if you want to transfer to SYD/BNE/MEL flight or stay in Perth.

  • I don't think this is cheap.

Scoot often offers Perth return Singapore for $250

Sure Qantas is a premium airline but Scoot has the brand new dream liners which have a huge improvement of the quality of air and humidity and make flying so much more enjoyable. It appears you have more legroom and the $150 odd that I save I can easily buy all the food and entertainment I want and still have change in my pocket..

Jetstar flies from Perth if you want to compare Apples with Apples, AU$307 return normal fare

If you offer me a free ticket to Singapore with any airline of my choice I would choose Scoot and forego the free food and drink.
The dream liners are that good of a plane.

        • I like the dreamliners, hope they have ironed out all the bugs. If you offered me a free air ticket with any safe airline i would also take it over food and drink.

I'd happily pay the extra $150 knowing my safety is in much better hands.

Scoot are subject to the same level of testing and inspections as with any other airline.
Fact that they are using a much newer airplane you could argue that the planes should have improved safety features over plans 10 years ago

Those that don't use lithium Ion batteries that is ;)

Scoot are subject to the same MINIMUM level of testing and inspections as with any other airline.

        • @chrism238: On this, some airlines go beyond this, i.e. Qantas

        • @clarky:

You have any proof that Qantas goes beyond Scoot with their testing and inspection?

Shame it's been downgraded to a domestic config 737, rather than an A330 with the new business suites. :(

    • Darn, 737?, Dreamliner all the way thanks, Scoot was good, their 777 although old was comfortable, good leg room, can't wait to try the 787.

      • The relaunched QF71/72 flights are on domestic 737s unfortunately. Basically not much difference from the Jetstar PER-SIN flight now (A320), except you get food & luggage with your ticket and a red roo on your plane? I'd take a Scoot 787 any day over a 737.

Knowing Qantas, they'll probably charge full Business class fares too for what is essentially a Premium Economy product at best…

      • I would imagine Scoot dreamliners have less legroom than the 777s. Keep in mind their 777s were hand me downs from SQ, and I don't think they re-configured the economy seats (besides colour/design).

  • Ugghh, $400 returns, I consistently get $200-$250 return during the long labour day or Anzac day with Jetstar every single year, price beating either Tiger or Scoot, whatever cheapest on the day I book my tix.

You can go into food frenzy there in Sg with the $$ you save.

Sure its nice to have more leg room and possibly larger seat, but I do not find it too bad for the $$ I save.
