    any bargain?

    • +2

      $10 off $30 ;)

      • +6

Depending on the day prices can go up by more than $10.00 on a lot of items so it's a valid question.

        • Lol DS gotz the bad reputation… how to fix? :P

        • +4

Considering it takes about 1 week for DS to ship anything, coupled with the fact that they do ship the wrong stuff, paired with their shipping company ( Toll, which is NOT allowed to redeliver, order by DS ), I will in future stay MILES from any order with DS.

        • @cameldownunder:

I bought a cover for my Samsung tablet and a power cord for PC and a new power adaptor for my Roku 2 XS last wednesday and it arrived thursday afternoon from two seperate stores (campbeltown and Dapto)

          hardly takes forever.

        • my stuff arrived within two days

Then why did the Marketing department put a head in between the words?

        • +3

@Vortex99: maybe they were promoting the Headsmith side of things…?

        • +2

And formed a band? I Doubt It.

seems to exclude games too. Excluded the first game I tried (GTAV on PC). Can't be bothered trying more.

      • -1

        Doesn't justify the neg though

        • +2

My neg reason post is below.

been trying to get a ps4 controller for ages and it's always in exclusion…. oh well

    • +2

Maybe Sony doesn't allow sales, like apple?

      • Doesnt allow?
        Not likely. Resale price maintenance.

    • +2

Got excited when I saw no mention of Gaming Accessories in the exclusions. Alas, no go for PS4 Gold Headset also as usual :(

  • +3

I tried this on GTA 5 (for PC) and it says the coupon is invalid. Is this product excluded too or is this an error?

    • +1

Wont let me use it on a PS4 dual charging station either…excludes all gaming?

      • +3

It appears to, even though it doesn't say as such. It would be great if the store rep could clarify this, after having posted the deal! :)

  • +1

I wonder if a chromecast can be had with Stan code plus this to make it $29?

There are some good deals. E.g. a Yamaha keyboard stand for $28 after discount:
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/audio-mp3/yamaha-keyboard-stand-…

    That's an excellent price.

    • Thanks. I was looking at a stand last year. Can you recommend a budget keyboard to go with this?

      • +1

I'm not an expert on keyboards really. But if you are serious about music, you should stay away from the "toy" keyboards.
Dick Smith has some cheap-ish keyboards on special, I noticed, including a 61-key one.

        • That lighting one is always $100 at jb. I'm just worried I'll get bored of it in a day :P

    • +3

Wouldn't this double stand be even better ? Just 1$ difference.

      http://www.dicksmith.com.au/musical-instruments/casio-keyboa…

I plan to buy one and wondering if you still prefer Yamaha one for any reason.

      • Double one is likely to be a bit more stable, but I guess it depends on what the weight of the keyboard is.
I think Casio is good enough quality, so that one is good value.

Logitech Harmony Remote 350 - $20.08 after discount.

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/hot-deals/logitech-harmony-para-…

    • Nice price but beware according to reviews I have read it only has one activity button.
I doubt you can find a better remote for this price though.

      • what does the activity button do?

        • +1

Logitech remotes can be used in 2 ways: As a plain replacement remote where each page or device can duplicate or replace and existing remote buttons or it can use activities where the buttons are configured around an activity such as "play bluray", "watch TV". The main idea of this is so that, for example, if you set everything up and press the activity button for "play bluray" it turns on your TV, sets it to the right input then does the same with your bluray player, stereo etc etc and then the buttons on the remote act accordingly, ie volume will adjust stereo, arrows will be the arrows on bluray player, ie reduce the need to switch remotes for that particular activity and allow you to turn everything on and off with one button. In practice it's a little more complicated than that but they are very good remotes regardless.

This remote is part of the logitech remote family but it's a very low end one and basically lacks anything but the most basic of functionality, ie it's really only useful as a replacement remote for a lost/ damaged one or for people with really simple requirements.

        • If you "Watch TV" by using a TV, PVR and Amp then you can program the one button to turn everything on at the same time and in the correct settings.

        • +1

@raydragon: Thanks for the detailed explanation, I was aware that these remotes can do this but was unaware that's what an "activity" was. Seems like the 650 would be a better model for me although given I have a projector not sure it will get the signal from the "activity" because its IR is in a different direction.

        • @yacman: It worked "sometimes" for our projector. There's an "assist" feature if something still hasn't turned on (or you can just select the relevant device from the screen menu).

      • I've got one of these, is my first universal remote and it does the job fine enough - really all I wanted was something to replace 4 remotes. It does only have one 'activity' button but I don't often use it anyway.
It does have its shortcomings, like there's no 'eject' button that I can find - so had to program one, and it sometimes takes a couple of presses to get it working depending on the device but for a basic universal remote I've been happy with it.

Wanted to buy k400r keyboard which was $36 yesterday. Today it is $47. So where is the bargain?

    • +1

Damn, got my K400R in May 2013 for $31.20 delivered through JB. Surprised the price hasn't lowered in the last 2 years..

      • +2

One big contributor is Aussie dollar. I would stil buy it at 2013 prices giving consideration that aud fall has negated the price drop but what they are doing is just wrong.

    • +2

Dodgy dick..l dont understand all the plus votes here… Price loading, terrible customer service, mysterious stock levels…and dont forget the exclusion lists that keep growing…and for me the sealer is the $100 hdmi cables waitng at the counter for all the ignorant and tech illiterate. The only time these guys get my $$ is when they do $10 off game preorders.

      • +1

I've bought lots of stuff from them and had absolutely no problems. They're known to change their prices at any time, regardless of sales or not.

So definitely a + from my experiences over the years. All the eneloop addicts here would probably agree as well.

    • $36 isn't their regular price. Was it on sale as part of another deal yesterday?

      • +2

No it wasn't on sale. It had the same banner it has today in red at the bottom.

        • -1

OK, so it looks like $36 isn't their regular price then. It can't be - it's too cheap for DSE. ;)

          • Yesterday it was $36 as part of some deal since you mentioned the red banner.
          • Today that deal evidently expired and was replaced with this deal, where it's $37.23.

Were you expecting them to offer you a double discount?

$37 is amongst the cheapest price around as well. The cheapest is TGG who have it for $35 as part of a promo. They'll most probably be selling at a loss if they sold them at $26. We're all after a good deal, but we have to reasonable.

        • +1

@eug: I am not sure if you read my comment. I said exact same text as today. The deal posted on ozbargain should make it $10 less if it was exclusive for ozbargain ( if you believe it is exclusive). But it is now $11 dearer than yesterday and they are offering $10 off. So we need to pay more than what they wanted yesterday.

        • @expertreader:

I am not sure if you read my comment. I said exact same text as today.

          In that case:

The text you read yesterday when the price was $36 said "… Offer ends today!".

That means the $36 price ended yesterday. Their regular price is $62.98 according to eBay.

Today, they're offering a smaller discount from their regular price. The red text refers to their discounted $47.23 price - today only.

And on top of that, the OzB code brings it down to $37.23. Still not as good as yesterday's price, but yesterday's price was a 1-day sale.

So we need to pay more than what they wanted yesterday.

Two different sales, two different prices. The red text just happens to be the same. It does clearly say it's a one-day sale price though.
