Reviewsare good. Budget Acer panels seem to hit the price/performance sweet spot.

I've got a G245H and a V243HL; haven't had anything to complain about with them.

yeah & the 3yr Warranty is pretty tempting…

    • Are they any good for gaming?

An IPS panel with a 4ms response time, you're not getting for $150 anywhere else. I would jump on it if I didn't already have two 24" monitors. The panel coating is glossy/reflective, which put some people off, but imo it makes colours look a tonne better compared to matte finish panels (obviously you don't want the monitor facing a massive window).

My community service announcement for any OzBargain members who haven't yet heard of these guys.

Here's a quote from their Multimedia Manager

I don't think anyone wants butthurt's as customers. They're best avoided at all costs ;) this is just the natural filtering mechanism.

…and crocodile tears from another rep

77 pages of feedback on the company and others he owns. They're quite happy to claim they have phantom stock, accept orders and payment and then sit on the money for weeks.

    Hey Bargainers!

Just letting you know that this is all in stock in our personal Brisbane warehouse & ready to be shipped out.
The deal does have an expiry date of Wednesday at midnight but I'm pretty sure stock will sell out before then so act fast. (I'll let you know the moment that happens if it does)

Also @Roscoe99 - once again I am sorry you experienced a bad transaction with our previous management. But things have changed & we are trying our best to restore our reputation… so how about you give us a second chance? :)

    Thanks

This is a pretty good deal, and I commend you on this response. Retail is hard. It's as much about the prices as it is about customer service. I do a lot of online shopping like everyone here, and sometimes I wouldn't mind paying just a tad more if it meant getting reliable service. In that sense, Roscoe99's response is more than justified (and necessary).

It will take some time to rebuild your reputation as this is a community and not just a listings page, but if you deliver (no pun intended), especially with these prices, I'm sure it'll be a matter of time.

First polite response I recall seeing from a megabuy rep here to negative feedback. I'm sure more of this approach would see a lot less ill will towards the company. Great to see and I'm sure if it's a genuine shift in attitude towards customers you'll see a shift in feedback.

As Yongaz mentioned, customer service is much more important than saving a few bucks for most people. Unfortunately a bad reputation isn't an easy thing to rectify when so many people have been burnt.

      Good luck with the change.

      • does this mean you will give us a second chance @Roscoe99 ? ;)

It's beyond second but sure I'd give you guys another chance if I thought that the deceitful business practices and horrid customer service were a thing of the past.

As I'm sure you're well aware a bad reputation doesn't go away quickly. Given the long history of poor service I can't see myself coming back as a customer any time soon.

        • @Roscoe99:

If you don't mind, could you email me & give me some information about your experience? I might be able to do something or put a nice bright colourful band aid on the wound. [email protected]

          @MegaBuy:

Thanks Sam but having been bent over by megabuy before, accepting any sort of remuneration at this stage would just make me feel dirty. Not that I don't like getting dirty every now and then but I'm a little more discerning as the years go on and I don't see it happening tonight.

"Nice bright colourful band aids" are for kids and only ever temporary.

On a more serious note. I'll freely admit that I enjoy a bit of banter (as do you) but please understand that this isn't some kind of personal vendetta. I got done…reported the incident to Fair Trading…lesson learnt! As a whole the OzBargain community is generally a good bunch of people who have helped me out. My posts relating to your company are just trying to give a little back and let people make an informed decision. I've provided links to obnoxious behaviour from store reps and experiences of people I've never met. Perhaps you'd like to balance this out with some more positive feedback that may have been received recently.

I think I've strayed far enough from the deal now to stop typing.

Just ordered one of these monitors and hopefully will receive it shortly, I'll do a review of the MegaBuy service when I do receive it though.

One small point already though. It seems there is no way to track deliveries after they leave your warehouse via standard tracking methods (standard couriers services or even Aust Post etc) this would be handy to include on your website at a future date. Tracking numbers are quite normal to include everywhere now.

      • Hi there,

The tracking feature is at the moment in development. You can call our Customer Service team for tracking any time :)

        Thanks

  • Damn no VESA mounting :(
