    It's nation wide.

    • Thanks, I'll update the post.

  • Darn. If I wasn't working, that would be dinner sorted tonight.

    seems expensive.
isnt the chicken normally like $5 and coke like $3?

    • from memory they're about $11 normally for chicken

    • Hot chicken is normally $11. So you're a saving at least $3 not factoring in the coke.

      • Not factoring the Coke, $11 - $9 = $2? How did you get $3?

        • Whoops was thinking of the $8 chicken deal they've had before.

        • @Kados: That's Woolworths, every Tuesday.

would love to know where you normally get a $5 chicken lol

        evening special ;)

Local IGA has had chickens 2 for $10 for 2 month now :)

  • Thank you. Great deal.

Great deal! not overly healthy, but can a diet soft drink combined with side of rice, salad and voila! No Delivery Hero withdrawal symptoms tonight guys!

    • -5

Not sure if you're alluding to diet soft drinks being 'healthy' alternatives because if so, you're sorely mistaken.

        Relax, its Friday bud.

        • -2

What an inane comment to make. Just informing you that diet drinks don't make that combo any healthier. No need to take it as a personal affront.

        • +1

Maybe not entirely healthy but the intent is good. Chicken with a bit of coles brand pre-cooked packet brown rice and some frozen veg, bit of soy and sweet chili is moderately healthy with a glass (or two) of coke isn't too bad comparitively to, say, KFC. :P

Compared to full sugar drinks, yes, they are healthier.

  • Thanks OP
just bought one for Friday Lunch.

Just picked one up in Norwood SA, there was either a system glitch or pricing hadn't been activated properly. The team override the price and honoured the deal.

    • Just fyi, if an item scans at a higher price than ticketed in somewhere like Coles you are entitled to the item for free (one wrong scan per transaction). So potentially, you could've got either the chicken or soft drink for free I think. Although I'm not sure how it would work for a package deal like this.

      • Never even knew- thanks.
Have you ever tried to claim the free item? I would imagine it might be a nightmare when you attempt to explain the code to checkout supervisor. Eyebrows would be raised.

        • Yep, all the time. Usually at self-service. There is actually a free item button and almost all the staff know about it, it's just not advocated widely. Never had any of the staff complain or refuse. It gets a bit difficult with a big shop but if you mentally take a note of the price of an item, there are many times where the staff have forgotten/been too lazy to take down tickets and replace them. A good time to do this is on wednesday when all of last weeks specials change. I've gotten some pretty good items for free because of it. Honestly almost every shop I do, there will be an item that scans wrong.

        • My local Coles has stickers near the register explaining the supermarket code of practice - item is free if scanned higher then the advertised price

        • Btw, I use to work at Coles and there isn't a free item button, at least when I was there.

        • @Pinchy: Must've changed because I watch them go into the staff settings and hit 'scan error - free item' or something to that effect.

  • Just a heads up. I selected a bottle of Coke Zero. The system didn't allow the discount. When I pointed out to the cashier that their poster said ANY Coke varieties (sic), she did an override. The picture was unclear, it read "Any of these (four depicted)". So keep an eye on the register when they scan it.

This did not work, just got home and checked receipt and paid full price

Heading back for a full refund and eating the chicken on the way :)

    • Did you choose one of the non-depicted varieties like I did in the post just above?

      • Grabbed a Sprite like the one in the picture

    • A true ozbargainer would check their receipt as soon as they leave the store

      • Better still, check as they scan.

  • I didn't get the plate or the garnish on the plate that's in the picture. Should I complain?

    • OP didn't include terms, may have stated this.

  • Any specials on decent rolls?
Woolworths or Coles. Woolworths is across the road from Coles here.

Family dinner sorted for <$15 including drinks sounds okay.

  • Would be cheaper to wait for the the next DH coupon and end up paying $6

  • Anyone know if it's valid at Coles central?

    • No I think that was an exclusion

  • How long does this deal last?
