      • Cheers, now to calculate whether if it worth paying on card compared to direct debit

        • +2

with 5pct surcharge it's almost a given it's not worth it putting it on AMEX (unless you're in desperate need for a redemption in first asap and lacking said number of points)

  • Black card also gets you 2x Qantas club passes and a discount on Qantas club memebership.

Does any one know where it states this?

  • OMG I just realised I accidentally signed up for the ANZ rewards card, not the ANZ Frequent Flyers one. :,(

    • You can do both. :)

      • As in apply for a second credit card through ANZ? I just rung them, I can move the card over to the Frequent Flyer system but then I won't be eligible for the 50,000. :(

        • Just apply for a Frequent Flyer card as well, $1,000 buck limit. I'm pretty sure the t's and c's are specific that you're only ineligible if you've had a FF card in the past 12 months, not any ANZ rewards card.

    • I don't remember seeing an option to select which card I wanted

To spend the required $3000 over 3 months, could you hypothetically purchase an item for over $3000. Then get a refund on the item few days later onto another card. Then wait the required till you received the points( 3months or 6 months) and then cancel.
I always use my ING paywave card and most of my transactions are under $100 so i get to take advantage of the 2% cashback

  • Credit Status :

I alreadyt have 15k limit on CBA Diamond Card + 8k Limit on 28 degrees card = 23k limit total or (liability from banks perspective).

I applied for a second CBA card (40k point scheme in other thread) and was denied simply because I already have a 15k limit on diamon and they dont want to extend additional liabilities since theyve only just bumped me to diamond (previously had 10k platnium)

Should I apply for the ANZ and risk a credit enquiry against my history?

If i do, i'll apply for the most basic card — would appreciate an experienced persons input on this

  • I forgot I already got the ANZ card + points last year. I applied on Friday and got approved for 23k. Guess I'll have to call them on Monday and cancel.

  • Do you have to ask ANZ to link these cards to your QFF account (like you do with CBA)? I can't find QFF referred to anywhere in their rewards program.

    • Not if you provided your QFF number at signup.

      • Thanks. I can't recall if I did, but if it was a field on the form I'm sure I would have.

        • I just rang ANZ and my QFF number wasn't recorded, so it either didn't ask me on the form or I missed it somehow.

        • @juzdownunder: lucky then!

  • I got the ANZ FF card last July and closed the account in September. I was still eligible for the rewards platinum with 50k points.

  • I had this card ANZ Platinum FF 4 months ago, received 50k qff already.

im wondering, anz also has another 50k reward points credit card ( min spend $3000 ). Am I eligible for this card ?
Below is the T&C, I never own any anz rewards credit card before. Anyone tried before ?

    T&C says:
Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Rewards credit card account by 30 June 2015. Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards, ANZ Rewards Platinum or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous twelve months. This offer applies only once per customer.

    • I believe this offer is unavailable for existing customers

      • Depends which rewards program your existing card is, your are always eligible for the other.

Just spoke to ANZ credit card team: The promotion is eligible , as long as you dont have any ANZ reward cards. ( if you own ANZ Frequent Flyer card, then you are eligible for this ANZ reward cards ) .

        thanks

  • thanks OP

  • Looks like $250 WOW gift card to me with the ANZ reward option…but $3,000 spending is quite an effort when I'm accumulating Qantas FFP on the WBC black card.

Plus I'm reserving my credit rating for the CBA Qantas FF card.

HMM, to apply or not to apply for the ANZ reward card….that is the question.

  • So what's the definitive answer to the question: "Will applying and cancelling credit cards hurt our credit rating?"

I have a few credit cards already. Some comes with mortgages and others for the rewards. Obviously I would cancel this credit card after a year to avoid annual fee. Would appreciate some comments. Thanks.

    • Of course it does.

  • Just applied and it says in the end of the process that it was approved. Will get my card in 5 business days. But, there is no mention about the QF FF points nor the first annual fee waived. Did everyone who applied see the same thing? Thanks.

EDIT: Just realised the rewards and QF FF bonus are two different links. I applied for the reward points :(

  • Signed up - all ready to roll, putting off paying for purchases and bills and I receive the "Rewards Card' not the "Frequent Flyer" card! DOH!

EDIT - There is an option in ANZ banking to change it to QFF card - Try that

    • can u pls guide me where to go to change to QFF card. I just spoke to ANZ over the phone and the lady said if I change to the QFF card, I will loose the points!!. dont know how that works coz I have yet to activate my card!

  • The qantas lounge pass, do we get it straight away our we must spend buy something first?

  • FYI. For those who chose the wrong product you can always visit your local branch and get further assistance from there which I got it fixed today and still will receive the 50k points.

  • Can anyone please confirm if they will waive the annual fee ($40) AND the reward program fee ($55) in the first year (for the ANZ FF card)?

  • Guys can you apply 2 cards - ANZ rewards and the other ANZ Frequent Flyer and get the points 2x?

  • got my 50000 points today

  • Thanks OP. I too applied for the wrong card - ANZ Rewards rather than the ANZ Frequent Flyer…that's what you get for not reading this thread beforehand!

But I applied online again a few hours later after I realised my mistake and it was also approved - just as well I asked for low limits :)

So now I'm getting 4 cards sent to me, but I'll only activate one pair of cards and just junk the other.

  • Anyone had any luck getting their Annual Fee of $295 waived from this deal last year, I called tonight and they wouldnt budge despite me indicating I would close the card if the annual fee wasn't waived. I have used the card extensively too!

    • I would also like to know this..

      • Why not just close your account then sign up again?

        • "Not valid for existing ANZ credit card holders or if you have closed an account in the previous 12 months" :(

        • @jdogg: isn't that restriction only for the bonus points?

        • @muncan:
Hmm not too sure. It might be. However I have applied for quite a few credit cards lately need to give my credit score a break!

        • @jdogg: good point. Maybe you could argue with them that you'll be cancelling and then signing yourself up again to avoid the annual fee. So if they could just let your annual fee slide then you could both nip out to the pub for half an hour. How's that sound?

        • @muncan:
Haha I like it! It's a good argument. I'll let you know how it goes.. :P

    • They refused to waive the fee for my black card. They kept asking if cost is a problem then they have lower fee cards.

      Totally not worth it.
