  • Oh wow… i wish i can afford it

  • Reviews on myer website are mixed.

I appreciate the coffee will be better than a capsule machine, but how does it compare with ease of use for someone who has 1-2 cups a day?

If you have 2 cups best get 2 machines.

    • Get a Gaggia classic for $600 bucks instead. All the parts are available so its easy to service.

    • If you're talking about ease of use, this will probably be a lot easier than a capsule since it's one button does all. Probably taste better too since you'll be using fresh coffee beans rather than months old capsules.

Can't really compare the Gaggia Classic as there's a manual set up so you'll have to get a grinder or grinded coffee beans, pull the shot then froth the milk

    • I[ve never seen a capsule machine that does the milk as well. I suppose this one would be easier because you just press one button and it does everything but on the capsule machine, you have to do the coffee and the milk separately. Cleaning would probably be about the same.

  • This seems to be the older model.

I have had one since it was released In 2006/7 as the first fully automatic cappuccino machine.
First cup isn't hot enough, but next cups are.
I really like this machine, but only gripe, like many other domestic ones, is that the auto function dispenses the charged milk first, then the coffee. Why? It's the opposite of the way a real coffee is made. However, I found a way to get the beautiful crema coffee (that this machine makes) into the cup first, then the milk.
So, even today, long after these were released, I would recommend it, because now the price is right.

    • Yer I have an old model as well, much better than capsules but i hate the milk frother going first, I usually do it manually myself as well.

We still use the frother part even if we use a nespresso machine, coffee isn't very hot though :/

i know it's a different type of machine - but in reality, this will produce a MUCH better coffee time and time again once you learn to use it (heaps of youtube videos to help):

    • What some people are looking for is a simple easy way to make a "reasonable" cup of coffee with as little work as possible. At one end sits capsule machines where an average cup of coffee is made by turning it on, loading a capsule and pressing the button. At the other end sits manual coffee machines such as what you have suggested.

I might be prepared to invest in a $1000-$2000 machine if it is fully automated, doesn't require much work to maintain it and is reliable.

      • fully automated, reliable and coffee machine don't go together ;)

  • I almost bought this machine a few months ago and luckily tested it instore. The milk just does not get hot enough (like most fully automatics) and there are a lot of issues with it (if you trust reviews on the internet). I

  • If you're gonna spend this much on a machine, get a manual one. Way better coffee and potentially cheaper. I picked up a rancillio Silvia machine and rocky grinder for $1000 for the pair. Way better coffee than any automatic machine with a little know how.

  • If anyone is interested in an auto coffee machine I highly recommend this one if you're not too fussed about the steamed milk.

I've had one for about a year. It makes awesome coffee (I drink espressos mainly), has a smaller footprint and looks nice than a lot of other machines (as a bonus).
