Telstra Nokia 208 Mobile Phone $15

Perfect. My 3310 finally died. Time for an upgrade.

    • +1

      Locked to Telstra.

Unlock code is available for another $15

This makes it pretty expensive doesn't it? Especially when compared to the Y550 which can do way more, and was going for ~$43 unlocked (buy then unlock) at its best.

      • Purchased Nokia 208. Free delivery.
        Hope unlock will be smooth.

        • on HN website it says pick up only. have they canceled your order?

        • @sydneybargainer: no, they havent cancelled it yet. hopefully they dont. :D Will keep you posted.

        • @cheapocheapo Just chat with HN rep on their website. and he said this item can not be delivered. fingers crossed for you.

        • @sydneybargainer:

Hope not. I will wait a couple of days and see how it goes. And then I will call them.

        • @sydneybargainer:

Just called and they, it has been shipped. :D
She said he will call me tomorrow and let me know when I will get it. :D

  • good deal if the Nokia 208 is dual sim.

    • It's not. It's a Telstra phone - they don't want you to use another carrier/SIM.

      • isn't the whole phone locked to Telstra, not just each individual sim slot?

        • Yes, but it's against their principles (and those of other carriers) - their whole game is to get you to trade off on different plans (e.g., long expiry vs. cheap calls), not trying to help you beat the system by having different SIMs for different purposes.

        • @tdw: Yes, that's rare. But it's also a bottom of the line model that doesn't support the bands of most competitors, such as 850MHz UMTS, so it's really not much of a loss to Optus. They're already charging a pretty high price for it anyway.

        • +1

@happychappy1: can't really compare a smartphone with a feature phone.

regardless of its dual sim status, $15 for a BL-5C alone is pretty good

  • looks like a good iron. thanks op

    • Yeah I might get one too for mum, says save $38 but it was $119 :)

  • I'm planning to get the laptop. Any suggestions??

    • +1

Just note the $300 rewards Is not cashback, link is bottom of post. If you have Amex you get $50 back too so $517 :)

      • Personally, the rewards is not useful to me, I see. Also, no Amex ;( Probably will keep an eye out for another deal.

  • Swann cameras are sold out :(

(edit: sold out online I should add, closest store in stock is 1,600km away).

    • Any idea what the original price of the Swann system was?

Disregard, no delivery, and the closest store with stock is 1593kms away.

      • Don't waste your money on 510 cameras…

      • I bought one today from Aspley, it had a 499 sticker on it. That's a Hardly Normal price though, I've seen them for 250 recently. Other Swann cams are 40% off too today at HN as part of their sale.

        • Love the Masters discount. You Save $1.00

        • @Bacchus: It was act $499 when I posted that link so that saving is wrong, fools lol

        • @TRENT86: i was one of the ones who scored the Swann camera kit…. it arrived yesterday "got it delivered" anndddd it had been opened and used there were recordings on the hard drive the hard drive showed 100hrs of use …annnd there were 2 different model cameras in the box also the remote had the batteries in it and had dust all over it like it had been siting around on a table… it wasnt mentioned in the ad that they were shop display or returned stock… bloody Hardly Normal never again!!

        • @VULCAN: Update… had a whinge …had a phone call from the store that sent it with apologies and there sending me a NEW one and couriering back the USED one …so hopefully all good… why do we have to be a complainer to get what you payed for?

  • Hm, I bought my Nokia 208 for $18 from previous deal. What a rip off at that time!

  • Can someone provide some feedback on the electrolux iron?

  • So Acer V3-572-55U5 is $217=$592-$25(HN)-$50(Amex)-$300(Acer)? Even for an ordinary i5 laptop that's a bargain! This one claims 802.11ac but I can find scent other specs/details.

EDIT: no wait, Acer Rewards is NOT cash back: "… offers you access to leading hotels and resorts throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific and Asia".

    • I had no idea what you were talking about before the edit! Oh well…

  • I'm looking for a decent dumb LED TV 50"+. Any recommendation? I can't seem to find any dumb TV these days.

    • More info required, how much do you want to spend etc?

I have had one of the Nokia 208 since November.
    Great little phone.
Battery lasts maybe 4-5 days without a charge.
    Has a stereo FM tuner.
    Gives you your life back.

It's a win win phone this one.

Does anybody know when Nokia 215 will be available in Australia? Couldn't find any seller except for few on ebay with high price tag.
Ps, not meant to hijack the post.

Would this Nokia 208 be suitable for a 10 year old child? I just want to give a basic phone that will just make calls in case of emergency. Dual sim would come in handy too. The phone has to be very small in size to fit for a child.

    • +2

Perfect for a child I think.
You don't need to charge it every day, and although it has internet and apps (facebook etc), it's almost impossible to use for those things due to screen size.
My was supposed to just be a phone to get me through till I found a new one. I had happily used it since November and am not in a rush to get a new smart phone yet

  • You could buy 10, fly to south africa, sell them for $100/1000rand each. Free flight
