you're welcome to pay 7.5% more for your groceries

      • +1

It worked for me, I bought $500 worth of Woolies giftcard and was charged $425 therefore it's legit. If it didn't work for you, that's because you're too late to the party. It's not a reason to neg the deal. You snooze, you lose!

  • Does anyone know when this deal ends?

  • +1

I thought SAVE15 exp midnight 22/5, so it makes sense that it didn't work. Groupon always arrange it in such way that the giftcard promo doesn't overlap with 15% off.
Anyone really has any luck having 15% on top of this 7.5% off?

    • ah if save15 was only until midnight 22/5 then someone should have said it or reminded people or else you will get noobs like me asking again ahahahah

      but thanks understood :)

  • +5

As with all other Groupon offers, be sure to either use a credit card with 0% foreign transaction fees (28 Degrees, Bankwest Platinum, etc) or check your credit card statement to claim back from Groupon any foreign transaction fees your bank charges. With NAB for me it was 3%. Groupon process their Australian company transactions in Australian dollars through Switzerland.

    • +1

How do you claim those fees back from Groupon?

    • Just used my refunded foreign transaction fee from last deal! Used AMEX again and seems like no foreign fee was added.

    • +4

You can also just use Paypal so no international transaction fee is charged. Saves having to contact Groupon and wait for their refund.

      • +1

This. I don't see any reason anyone would prefer to pay via Groupon's direct payment method vs PayPal.

  • +1

Bought 3x$100 last time and took the e-vouchers into bigw and bought 3x$100 Woolworths gift cards with them.

  • SAVE15 didn't work for me but I'll still take the 7.5% off & cashrewards! Thanks OP.

  • Yeah I know I'm too slow and I missed out but have I got this right, if you get in early?

1 you can get a Big W card 7.5% off which you can use at Woolies supermarkets.

2 you can stack a SAVE15 code on top of that for an extra 15% off.

3 you can also do it through CashRewards and get an 4.25% back, even though CashRewards specifically say you can't.

Those are all claims I have gleaned from this thread but I may have misinterpreted.

Which of these 3 were true this time?

    • +2

1 - still true for all
1 & 2 - true for those who got in early, but remains to be seen if orders will be cancelled. The last time this happened, most orders were cancelled; some who ordered only 1x100 gift card had their orders delivered.
3 - remains to be seen for this deal, for those who will have their orders honoured. Some got their cash back from the last deal(s).

      • I can confirm that I've received a confirmation e-mail from CashRewards.

P.S: Just the 7.5% discount, no extra 15% off for me.

        • I got an email from CashRewards confirming that they have recorded the transaction too, but I am expecting it will probably not get approved (have had this happen before).

  • Still waiting for my eGift Cards to arrive. Others in the same boat?

    • Waiting here too

      • I guess it does say 2-4 business days… just seems unusually slow for an electronic delivery + compared to CashRewards.

    • From the last deal, it took quite a while for the egift card to arrive.

    • See my post below…29 May

  • Can someone confirm if we have to use the Gift card value in a single transaction or Can it be used over multiple purchases ?

    • -1

      Yes it can.

      • Multiple transactions ?

        • +1

Yea multiple transactions just like a normal physical gift card

  • Anyone got their eGift cards yet?

    • still waiting.

    • +2

Still waiting here. Groupon have taken my money though.

    • +1

Based on past experience, they won't be in a hurry to email out the gift cards.

      • still waiting….

        • +2

Same, if only they were as prompt with delivering these emails, as they are with their crappy spam deal emails….

  • What I thought it was expiring midnight… I swear the Groupon ticker showed that it was ending at midnight before.

    • Midnight eastern standard time….still they finished up 10 minutes early by my watch

      • Yea I posted that at 23:10 AEST. 50 mins before (supposed) expiry.

        • That's probably because they've now come up with another 15% off deal.

        • @spk: No I'm saying they ended the deal at (according to this deal) 7:42pm last night, but I remember seeing the counter which indicates when the deal is ending saying it would be ending at 11:59pm (or 12:00am) last night (i.e. they ended 4:17 early).

This 15% off coupon you're talking about was released this morning, so even if they had ended it at 11:59pm the 15% off coupon code wouldn't have been usable anyway.

  • Was waiting for confirmation dispatched Woolworths ecard and thought tomorrow. Darn. Please open a further round so can buy bigw BT mouse before expiry in later today. Thanks /groupon

  • +5

Honestly Groupon is like that horrible Ex who you despise and swear you'll never hook up with again and yet you do and then hate yourself for doing so afterwards as you are reminded of all the horrible bad habits and crap they put you through.

Absolutely dodgy as can be business practices (issuing coupons rather than the actual goods so they can avoid paying taxes + hiding offshore) and then really crap customer service and goods sent out incredibly slowly with rubbish/joke tracking system!

Suffice to say still waiting for 3 x gift card emails here. :-/

  • +3

More than 96hrs…still waiting for the gift card :(

    • +1

      same here.

      • +1

I guess they just hang on to our payments as long as possible before issuing and having to pay for the gift cards.

  • still waiting

  • can anyone tell me if change is given from these, like i buy $40 of fuel and use a $100 egift card will i get 60 bucks change, or 60 left on the gift card, or do u forfoeit tghe change.

    thanks

    • the remaining balance can be used at a later time

  • +2

I'd really like it to arrive in time for the Big w 10% off sale this weekend :(

    • which sale is that

    • That was my plan also, probably why they are holding off :(

      • don't think the two are connected.. I think groupon loves to park our money in some high interest bearing account for as long as possible. They have until close of business today, 6pm?

        • High interest bearing account: tee hee: don't think so.

        • +1

Yeah until they earn back the 7.5% from the interest.

  • +8

Where the fark are my gift cards…..just ridiculous really, usually water off a ducks back to me but if they say 2-4 business days, it should be within 2-4 BUSINESS DAYS. FFS GROUPON. Lost a customer here.

  • +1

This is a reply I received last night… really don't think it's fair to have to wait another 2 days… they're probably not going to work over the weekend? Should I do a charge-back now? How does one do that on a Citibank CC?

    Hi Amelyn,

Thank you for contacting Groupon Australia and sorry to hear that you haven't yet received your Woolworths eGift card.

If you haven't received it yet, please check your spam/ junk folder, as these e gift cards will end up there sometimes. Also, there might be some delays while we are sending these e Gift cards to our customers. Hence, I would request you to wait for two more days.

Incase, if you are unable to locate the e gifts cards within the above mentioned timeframe, please let me know and I will investigate this further.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Regards,

  • Ordered and paid by cr card on 23 May. The appropriate amount has been debited to my card, but nothing happened until I got a bizarre email from "Shameem" (no family name given) at Groupon stating that my account was blocked and my payment had "abnormalities" whatever that means. Then he stated -

"If the purchase is genuine, please provide the scanned copy of your PayPal statement matching the purchase and the Groupon account details".

Rang Groupon and got the runaround… call centre lady could not tell me what the problem is and stated that the only way to resolve it is to provide the scan etc etc etc. I have no intention of doing this, apart from being a nuisance its a breach of my privacy. I asked her to cancel my order forthwith, can my membership of Groupon and refund my money (over $900) immediately. The best she could do was to state that she will report my request to the "other section" (the one I am not allowed to communicate with directly) and they "should" be able to comply with my wishes. Its a bloody joke of a way to do business so I then contacted Paypal and they have escalated this matter.

    Watch this space.

    • +1

      See you on The Checkout.

    • hey it happened to me as well, has yours resolved?

      • They finally got off their butts yesterday after I posted a complaint to the Groupon Facebook page suggesting that it was dodgy behaviour. Profuse apologies then came from the mystery man, Shameen, and the promise that the $925 refund was approved BUT this could take up to 10 business days. Crappy service from crappy Groupon….never again. I await the refund with bated breath.

i printed out the groupon PDFs and went to use at a caltex servo, these didnt work. Am i meant to be printining out something else? or waiting for an email from groupon? thanks

    • you get a different pdf from everyday rewards

      • -1

        sorry what do you mean?

        • Sorry, what I meant to say that Everyday Gift Cards (from Woolworths) will send you an email with the egiftcard in pdf format.

in approx. 2-4 business days from the
          domain @everydaygiftcards.com.au

          from the issue date
DONT FORGET TO USE "SAVE15" in the promo code for an extra 15 percent off.

        • +2

thanks for the info, looked like a bellend trying to use the PDF from groupon at the servo.

        • @unclesnake:
You can trash the groupon voucher, it has no value. Woolies (everydayrewards) will email you the vouchers.

Do note that you can only use these e-gift cards at caltex stations displaying "save up to 8 cents". It is not valid at stores stating "save 4 cents".

        • @bsmksg: thanks

  • +1

Purchased mine when the deal came out and still nothing, are all of us still waiting? Has anyone got theirs?

    • Nope….. the percentages will be interesting. If nobody has then this is a significant issue, if only 10% have failed its somewhat "acceptable"

    • on the same boat mate.

    • Nope..just called 1300 nuumber and got told all they can do it escalate and will get 'some' response in 24 to 48hrs……can't speak to Managers to anyone higher……pretty disappointing…

  • +1

Name and shame them on their FB page, ask them if they're running a scam. That usually works for me.

    • Thanks, I wrote on their wall asking for clarification…awaiting reply

      • Interesting comment about breach of contract on their page.

Wonder if Fair Trading should be brought into it.

    • Good advice, it appears to have worked for me.

  • +1

Just finished having a 'live chat' with Groupon to ask where my e-gift cards are. Purchased on the 23rd May.

They claimed they had already sent them through and to check my spam……obiviously this is just BS from them. I asked when they sent them and they claim 1:54am today, however they will resend them and I should have them within 24hrs, if not they advised I should contact them again.

To all those who have purchased a gift card, start contacting them to put the pressure on.

    • Yes, I've got the same reply to check my spam.
So I replied back to ensure they resend or check from their end.

    • Just got off the live chat as well and was told they are been sent out at the moment and should have them by the end of the day.

      Will see…..

  • Still received nothing, contacted their CS & no response.

      wite on their facebook page

    • +1

      I emailed everyday gift cards.

They haven't received anything from Groupon, so can't issue the eGift cards…

      • I suspected Groupon hadn't paid for the cards (& told them so just now).

        • Yeah me too. Keep calling…1300 962 032

  • Contacted them too. Also got asked to check my spam and wait while my case was passed on to someone in that department apparently I will be contacted later with the outcome.

  • Has anybody received their E Gift Card yet ?
    According to the term:
E Gift Card will be emailed to you
in approx. 2-4 business days from the
domain @everydaygiftcards.com.au . But I have not yet received and it has been 5 working day.

    • +1

Call Groupon on 1300 962 032. I called and they said they'll follow it up.

      Just keep pushing them…imo

    • +1

I believe most of us (if not all of us) are in same situation, you can also use their Live Chat option or post on their facebook page to get traction.

  • -4

If you log in to your account on the site, click 'My Groupons' and check for any 'used vouchers'. Mine was in there. Will find out tomorrow if its working!

    • that's not it dude.. you'll get it via email

    • They won't work. You need to get an eGift card from the everydaygift cards people…

My understanding on how it works is:

Customer buys from Groupon, Groupon buys from everydaygiftcards, and everydaygiftcards sends it to customer…

    • thats not the voucher. It won't work!

      • They have made it confusing by calling it a 'voucher'. It is merely a receipt/acknowledgement of the purchase in a way from what I have been told.

        • tax avoidance is just a game of semantics

    • They have made it confusing by calling it a 'voucher'. It is merely a receipt/acknowledgement of the purchase in a way from what I have been told.

  • +2

Wow, I should have read up on these guys before shelling out on $400 worth of vouchers :/

  • Groupon: May I ask, have you checked your spam folder and your junk mail?
    Me: Yes I have.
Groupon: Here's what I can advise you, as I see, the vouchers has been sent out today, kindly check if you will be receiving the vouchers by Monday, since you are still inside the delivery window.
Groupon: In the unlikely event that you still have not received the vouchers by Monday, you can contact us back and we will be more happy to assist you.

    • +2

"the vouchers has been sent out today, kindly check if you will be receiving the vouchers by Monday"

Are they printing out the emails and posting them ?

    • "since you are still inside the delivery window" - when did you order them??

      • Monday…

        • i was told mine have been sent and it is clearly a problem with MY email. total BS

        • ok thanks, I (and few others as mentioned in the posts above) have ordered them on Saturday and stil waiting….we are clearly 'Outside' of the delivery window…..
