Since when does it take an e-mail more than a day to arrive???

  • +2

I just got an email from them askimg me to rate the level of customer service I received when I had my online chat with them earlier today……no suprises for how I rated them

    • Got the same email… giving them the benefit of the doubt, if I don't get anything by tomorrow, I am calling the bank… and rating them badly!

  • Anyone tried shaming them on FB? I can't access it from here to check.

    • yes, threatened to ring Tracey Grimshaw

  • I don't understand the delay with the incompetent Groupon system. I ordered the entertainment book e-Gift card 5% off paid $475 for a $500 gift card. Got my gift card straight away via email. I am going to use it tomorrow at BIg W to get the PS4 bundle.

  • I am guessing the 2-4 business days waiting period starts from the day the deals expired and not from the order date. So, technically the 2-4 business days ended on Monday? Shame on you Groupon!

    Still waiting for mine too…

  • Still waiting… How many of yous received your today? Or is it fair to say none of us got one yet

  • still waiting on 4 x $200 cards.

  • +1

    these guys are sh*t

  • Just received an email from Groupon saying

I will pass this matter on to the management team to look into. As soon as they have an update I will let you know. Thank you for your patience in this matter, we hope to have this resolved for you soon.

  • +1

groupon is getting back to me by the end of the day.. ill bet $100 they don't

  • I called and complained along with a FB post. They offered me $10 credit, which was put on my account. I said it wasn't really adequate ($2,000 in vouchers, could have earned a few bucks sitting in the bank) but it was a start. See if they offer a credit/discount code to everyone by way of apology.

  • Just got this from them -

"I sincerely apologise for the problems you are facing with this deal as this is not something we want our customers to experience. Please be advised that we are currently working on it and the E gift card will be send to you by next week."

  • On the phone to them now and they are telling me to provide my bank statement.. It's not my first purchase with them. WTF?

  • They're ignoring me now.

I'm off to the Fair Trading site, not putting up with this.

  • Received the same email as b_sean

  • +3

OK, I've filed my complaint. http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/

  • +2

I had such high hopes (as I'm sure many did) for stacking 7.5% with 10% Family and Friends day tomorrow … GGGRRRR…. Angry

    • +1

In the same boat… only buy it to use tomorrow… now $600 already paid but I can't use :(

  • -2

Guys it will take time, my last purchase took me 2 weeks to get mine. So I would give them until end of next week.

    • +3

Yes you're correct, however it shouldn't take them that long to send them out….especially when it states 2-4 business days in the listing.

    • +4

Then they should not advertise 2-4 working days on there sales page.

      • That is the sad reality unfortunately. For my own record, it took me 11 days to get it. So like I said, probably end of next week we should all get it by then.

  • +3

I just put through an order with Cash Rewards with 5% discount as I need cards for tomorrows sale. I made the order and received confirmation email at 6:57pm and then received invoice at 8:15pm and then the actual gift card in my inbox at 9:34pm. Sure beats Groupon's 5+ working days but for an extra saving of 2.5% it's just not worth it using Groupon.

    • Wow, now THAT is how it should be.

I don't have any extra funds to buy any more and like you I was planning on using them tomorrow for an actual purchase. Sadly I don't have an extra $400 so I won't be getting anything from the Big W 10% off sale :(

If I cancel these will it take me weeks to get a refund?

      • You need more money

  • +1

    Such poor service!
That's longer over the Internet then by mail!

  • Think they're playing funny buggers. I know they take a long time but my last 7.5% discount - without a 15% extra discount - came sooner than this; i'd expect at least some customers to have got the email by now. Have a hunch they figure if people get p-ssed enough they'll cancel.. letting groupon off the hook (and netting them a weeks interest on other peoples money to boot). Dodgy mob if that is their game.

Either honour it, or don't honour it and refund (expediently).

    • I think they're playing money market

  • +1

Have posted earlier about not receiving vouchers, My Groupon now shows the payment as unsuccessful. Credit card has clearly been debited the $. There is a serious system fark up by Groupon with this deal! Sorry OP, not your fault, this was a good deal but we clearly need to record on OZB that Groupon has issues, revoked my +ve!

    • Did you use the 15% off code as well? This might be the reason as it happened back in March, The few early ones in this deal were using a 15% off code which was not meant to be applied to this deal so they are probably going through them all checking if people used the code on this deal. Frustrating.

      • +1

Nope no 15%, paid $370 for $400 worth

  • Got mine!

    • Same, ffs still a shocker but

    • got mine too.

    • Same.

Hopefull they speed up the process next time

    • Got mine just now!

      Big W here I come…..

  • Be patient guys. The last deal also had similar delays with exactly the same comments as posted here. I got in late on the last deal but got mine faster than those who bought at the start of the deal. Groupon is certainly playing the money market to get the extra 2.5% back.

    • After typing the above, I got the email with the eGift Card.

  • just got mine after just ordering more from cashrewards >.<

  • +5

what kind of list do you guys received ?

My list has all the buyers' card details, with name and emails

I think we get big trouble..

    • +5

I was going to post the same. I thought I'd receive PDF attachments of all the gift cards I bought. Instead I've got an attachment with a listing of seemingly all gift cards bought through the deal, listing buyer's email addresses etc.

I think Groupon have f@#$ed up big time…

      • actually the email is from woolies…should we complaint this with them?

    • big issue. just received my e gift card. no other information.

so, we need head to shop and replace a physic card?

      • Some smart staff there would interrupt you doing that

  • Got mine too

  • +11

Anyone still waiting on their gift card??? I think I can help you

Woolworth's appear to have f**ked up big time. I just had a closer look at the email I received and the attachment and noticed the attachment was a Microsoft Excel .xls Straight away I thought this was perhaps SPAM/SCAM as it should be a .PDF and checked the email address it came from which was correct - [email protected]

Anyway, what they sent me was an excel spread sheet with the what I'm assuming is 'EVERYONES' gift card details. There are 7941 entry's and for each entry I have the following information:

    Card Name
    Card Value
    Recipient Name
    Recepient-Email
    Sender-Name
    Message eGift Card Link

For each entry I can simply click on the eGift card link and the PDF of that persons gift card will download and open up.

Here is a link to the info I have - https://www.dropbox.com/s/muvllg1wybtrk8e/Woolworths%20e-gif…

Obviously I've removed everyone's email address and the link to download the gift cards. Have a look to see if you can find your name.

Can someone who knows what they're doing add up the total of the gift cards?

    • good. i can see my name here :)

    • +2

      $1,308,505.00

      • Time to do some shopping

      • +2

Would it be right to say this revenue is mostly from ozbargain? what a great way to see the influence of the site!

      • How am I going to spend it all~~~

    • Oh my! My name is in there with exactly what I purchased!

    • wow oh wow :( Good pickup. I for one am converting mine in-store in the next 15mins!

    • Tips:remember to remove the Author name which contained in the XLS file :)

  • -3

Oh my god! 7941 gift cards … I will never ever deal with Groupon

    • +3

      Is not Groupon…..is woolies!!!!!!!!

  • Oh my, is some one going to call woolies or groupon, they need to cancel all those gift card…….

    • +2

on the phone to them now

      • +3

No phone number listed for woolworths everyday gift cards so I rang the number for their online shopping. Spoke with some lady by the name of Jan who was unaware of the (profanity) up and would follow up straight away and cancel all the gift cards.

        • There is an emergency number to contact them

          Emergency: 1800 638 434

        • Thx TA. Just let us be informed as what will happen next

        • @aaronshady2:
No doubt everyone will get an email once they've sorted it out. The nerds who need to fix it and have the ability to fix it probably won't be in until Monday. The lady I spoke with didn't even want to grab my details. She was about to hang up when I asked if she wanted my mobile number, which she took. Haven't heard anything yet.

        • @adele58: The call could not get through, I tried two times cut off after 30 seconds.

      • +1

let us know how you go, that is a major fvck up. LOL

    • All 5 of mine are there for the taking as well!
Received my egift card pdf's not long ago…presuming that these will all be "EMPTY" when I go to use them by persons with no morals who will wrought the system!

They need to cancel them ALL and resend!

  • +4

What Groupon/Woolies have done can only be described as cluster farks …

  • Just received mine this morning.
    Link to proof.
    http://imgur.com/rKDZWVd

So you will get one guys, be patient :)

  • From looking at the list I see only Big W $100.00 and $200.00. How about the Woolworths Petrol Caltex and woolworths Supermarket E cards ? Do they f**ked that up too ?

    • It looks like it is just the Groupon 7.5% off BigW cards that are included in this mess. Presumably an issue with the collation and batching of the details. Wonder who else got the excel attachment, I didn't with my PDF's. Usually I only get an excel with my own details when they are sent through with Entertainment book gift card purchases

  • just got mine

  • +4

Wow, I received the excel worksheet too. They better be cancelling all the numbers and resending with new ones. Some unethical idiots will most likely try to use others' gift cards numbers.

Also identifiable data privacy leaked with buyers' name and email addresses.

Someone's head will be on the chopping board, and even if it's a silly oversight, will cost a lot of money!

Suggest not using your gift card(s) to avoid disputing fraud.

    • Is this only Big W you received?

    • +1

There's bound to be someone who will try and go on a shopping spree with them, but they won't get away with it. They'll know exactly who received the spreadsheet and narrow it down from there. You won't be able to use them on-line anonymously (IP address will give the game away) and using a proxy will help a little, but whatever you purchase will be picked up/delivered to your address, so once again you'll be caught..You could also attempt to use them in-storem, but then you'll have camera's to smile for.

      • +1

I think its a tough call to waste security resources to (1) review the footage, (2) have someone back office to run against the database from the department who holds the list of purchaser, (3) find legal means to request the customer to show up at the office and cross check their faces against the footage, (4) have anything concrete apart from a blur footage. I know I will be pissed if Woolworths or Groupon or BigW were to buzz me and start to accuse me or request for me to assist them in a screening just because some idiot didnt do their job properly.

If someone dodgy were to use the cards in small amounts (ie <$20-$50) given the number of people who received the excel worksheet (assumed "X" number), it would be costly exercise to catch every "illegal" transaction.

For those who received the pdf, they are also not "safe" as those who received the excel are able to access (on assumption) all purchases and the gift card numbers.

Also to note; for those who received the gift cards and have already started to use them, how does one verify if they actually utilized the gift cards or shout fraud? If JChrist (see above) calculation remains true (7941 gift cards), just 10% "misuse" will accumulate to a fair bit of job hours.

        • We all will be the suspects, if those cards get use, they will investigate us, and they will get the money back…..

  • What a mess!

Anyone else not received their cards yet? Still nothing here.

Just checked the spreadsheet and I don't think I'm in it - maybe there's another batch/spreadsheet still to come.

    • where do you find the spreadsheet ?

  • +1

Thanks for the heads up. Converted mine to physical cards just then. Had to see the info desk and explained what happened. I only received the PDF and not the spreadsheet.

    • Can you elaborate? Do you mean you bought Wish Gift cards in store with the eGift vouchers?

      • Yes I bought Wish gift cards using the eGift card.

  • Big (profanity) up. I hope they can track ips of people who download the pdfs from the list so they can find out the unethical ones that steal.

  • +1

Just received a call from Woolworth's.

They're onto it and will ultimately be cancelling all the affected gift cards and re-issuing. As I expected it's taking them a little longer than they had hoped to fix it due to the fact it's the weekend and the nerds with the expertise to fix it are at home playing 'world of Warcraft'

No time frame could be given for when it will be fixed but they're trying to sort it ASAP and an email will be sent out to those affected.

    • +1

I reckon the nerds are playing 'world of Warcraft' at workplace as well!

    • I hope this gets resolved soon, unfortunately I dont think I will be able to use mine for the BigW's Family and Friends discount =(

  • Just checked some of mine been used.

    • I think you can find the transaction location by checking balance and call the store to catch those unethicals.Surely they are redeeming more there, most likely buying giftcards.

      • Yes I can. The transaction history shows all the purchase location as Woolworths Ashfield.

        • +3

Hey VW, I'm a journo from the Sydney Morning Herald. I'm doing a story on this, and am looking to chat with people from this forum who've had their vouchers stolen because of the data breach.

I'm working til 10Pm tonight. Give me a buzz if you can - (02)9282 1825.

    • Just checked mine…all still good!
There will be a location where it was used in the balance enquiry…!

      • Doesn't show for the gift card I just checked - https://www.dropbox.com/s/7q93yl05l0fdhm6/Capture.JPG?dl=0

        • Homeshop…..they still have time to cancel this one….ring them!

Stupid morons…they have the person's address with this!

        • @adele58:

CBF - plus Woolworth's are watching this thread, so they can do it themselves. No point wasting my time due to their F*up….they won't give you anything for your efforts.

We once got a carton of cigarette smokes with our online shopping (we don't smoke and they were worth $160) and rang them up to advise them of the stuff up. They simply asked me to return them to my nearest supermarket. Nothing given in return for being honest….I should have sold them in hindsight.

        • I think it is online Shopping, which does not show location.

        • @tight-ass:

          That's true….

Received a bag of someone else's frozen goods once…rang them up to tell them and I think they were gobsmacked that I even rang them…was able to keep the goods though!

  • +1

    What a monumental mistake.

  • +1

Someone's going to find their face on the News tonight. Go get 'em Tracey Grimshaw.

  • +1

Someone's starting to spend up using some of my gift cards. I got 2k's worth and haven't checked all 11 of them yet, but the first one was used for home shopping…..apparently - https://imgur.com/CjrPmMZ

You can check your card balance here - https://manage.everydaygiftcards.com.au/

    • It's an online purchase, they're going to track the perp quite easily.
