in stock in mount druitt apparently could be just the box.

  • Could try a price match at HN

  • I'm just used to the $149 price tag. I cannot accept this price. Thus I have to get myself a $750+ galaxy s6 instead..

    • Agree. I'm holding out for my $149 order @ The Good Guys to be fulfilled but thought it might still be a bargain for others!

Just the other day TGG had this going for $149.

But it's out of stock now!

      • Yeah after the lowest price nobody will go back to pay for $198.

        • Not unless they were totally desperate for one.

@hollykryten: it's windows phone, no one ever get desparate for it.

          @lgacb08:

That's a very short sighted comment - Windows Phones are easily the best phones out there for corporate usage, and if you can get past the app store statistics (quantity does not equal quality) then they're arguably better for a lot of people if you do an honest comparison.

@Baker: lol at corporate usage, I haven't seen any large scale implementation of it, and even if it ever exists, just have a look at Blackberry 7 years ago who had nothing to be proud of but their BIS and see what they're at now, even Chinese investors don't want to buy them. Commercial market dictates the corporate market.

And M$ lags a century behind in both quality and quantity. I used to use one as my main phone and it's been a nice phone, but once you want to get something out of web browser, Facebook, Twitter or the likes then you'll have to look elsewhere, whether you want to control your camera remotely, or turn off the home TV while on the train, or maybe trying to read The Age/SMH via an app (yeah, Fairfax doesn't bother to develop one and let some Vietnamese kid did, making it look like some RSS feed).

        • @lgacb08:

The issue with the lack of apps in Microsoft's barren app ecosystem may be better in the future. Emphasis on 'maybe'.

They've recently come up with an initiative to make porting apps to Windows 10 much easier, requiring developers only to change a few lines of code in an app to make it compatible for Windows.
          https://dev.windows.com/en-us/uwp-bridges/project-astoria

The only problem though, is that by allowing users to easily port, means that there is actually less incentive to code a native Windows Phone app. This will lead to a lot of apps released that are simply ported over, and left-as is, which do not follow the Windows 10 UX (user interface) design guidelines.

The other hurdle is gaining developer interest — What seems like "a few lines of code" may end up being a couple of days of work and ongoing support for people who expect bugfixes for their specific windows platform.

  • No stock around Brisbane.
Wonder if the 89BDAY code would have worked earlier today?
That would have made it almost as cheap as the GG's deal.

    edit
wow just noticed how old this thread is.
DSE actually advertised this phone at this price in an email promotion today.
    But no stock..
    Not a good look.
