Bose AE2 headphones are on clearance at Officeworks for $49.00. I picked up two sets earlier at Richmond Officeworks (Vic).

These are a superseded model, but for $49.00 you can't go wrong imo.

Not sure which stores have stock, so you'll have to give them a call and ask.

      I have recently tested a few budget ones:

      Aldi Bauhn Wireless Headphones $40: these were decent and you can pick them up for as much from eBay, but they have a high minimum volume threshold. Over ear closed type. I actually got them for 20 from Maroubra Aldi

      Philips IR DS's ($18 40% off SHC1300): for the price these do the job, very light weight but not that comfortable, foam pads, but solid for what you pay and good enough if you are only an occasional user and the style (open over ear) is what you want

      Plantronics Game come x73 (35): not sure you can still get these, they are over ear open types, decent sound and very comfortable with a mix but range isn't great so only good if you are always within a few metres from your TV.

      As you can guess I am starting at the bottom and working my way up, and will just offload the ones I don't want to keep

        Thanks Jackson and chinaman. Now I am checking reviews of each one of them to decide which one will be good. I bought a cheap one couple of years ago and it never works. I could hear the radio but thats it.

    Sweeeeeeeet. Just picked up the last pair from Bayswater, VIC. I called to check stock and put them on hold - in the 10 minutes it took me to drive there she said that 8 people had called up looking for them.

        They didn't but found one when I was on the phone with them (approx 15 mins before my original post) which I immediately reserved. When I arrived at the store just before closing they had managed to find a second which my Dad bought. Trying them out now, amazing headphones. Brilliant work OP.

    Every store around the Melbourne area are out of stock!
    Checked on a pdt at work (work at officeworks lol), Chadstone is pulling up 5 but i called them up to reserve one for a customer but claimed they were none left. Carnigie also has one on hold for a team member till the end of today (29/05)

    Also please don't abuse Officeworks staff when you walk into a store and there's no stock, just call us up first AND put it on hold :) (max end of next working day)

      Lol by posting this deal on Ozb will automatically cause the store to be harassed. I bet heaps of people called up, now they just give the automatic answer of "no there is no more" ….

        yeah haha, people call up where they usually are passed to tech to put something on hold, but when something comes up on Ozb we know by the amount of people calling and just tell the people at pos to say we dont have it

        Sadly not sorry! Only shows VIC stores on the stock scanner gun. I could check it when i get back to work on Sunday but probably be too late.
        Just give the local stores a ring, and if they have one, ask them to put it on hold for you. Also they probably won't do store transfers for it either because it's only $50.

    No offence against OW staff but several times I've gone in to get an awesome deal from here and when the staff find out about it (thanks to me/OzB) they all run and get the stock for themselves. This has happened at both the North Ryde & Hornsby stores (NSW). The last time was the Sony BT headphones 2-for-$99. I got a pair and then two guys ran from the front counter and put the last 4 behind the counter for themselves :(

        Nah I've had the same experience at OW, seems like the workers arnt trained right. If I was the boss I'd sack people which didn't respect customers especially which have been traveling for a deal. Even though OzBargainers are stingy , promos bring people into the store and they might buy other things.

      No they don't, the AE2i model has the in line mic and volume controls. These are just standard headphones.
