  • Been holding out for the freebies… guess it's not happening this year, might bite the bullet with this.
Knowing my luck, i'll buy them and then they'll announce free ones. /lesigh

Still 2 months to try for free :|

  • I have never been to one of these so what is on offer there ? not quite committed to spend the money yet just in case it is not worth it.

Basically just a vendor convention, lots of samples to be tested. I rarely buy anything because it is not particularly good value or easy to carry around.

I went to Melb one and its quite shit in my honest opinion.
Its just a whole bunch of stalls promoting and their goods and giving out tiny free slices.
Like supermarket tasting booths x 500. Not worth bothering again and no freaking way would I spend $17 pp.

It seems it sort of exists in the space created by the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival which is great http://www.melbournefoodandwine.com.au/

      This is nothing.

    • The main attractions are the free wine & beer samples, provided you purchase/bring a tasting glass. Otherwise the size of grog and food samples are disappointingly small.

  • I have been going to the Melbourne one for about 10 years. After this years effort I would not go again unless the tickets are free. It used to be a showcase for new products and cooking methods but now it is just like a market. Very few free samples and no 'bargain' sample/show bags. We would normally spend 5-6 hours there and fill a backpack and a granny shopping trolley with samples, but this year we saw everything in about 2 hours and could fit what we got in our pockets.

In the past I would happily spend the money to go, along with the costs associated with a night in Melbourne and consider it money well spent. This year I'm just happy that I had free tickets and got a good price for my nights accommodation.

The only exception may be the wine section, if they still give decent samples it can be cheaper than a day at the pub with friends.

  • Just a heads up. Dyson was at the Melbourne show and had the V6 Absolute Handstick (RRP $899) for 35% off.

That is $584.35, I have never seen the V6 Absolute this low, in fact your would be lucky to get the V6 Animal for this price.

Price is only valid at the show.
