  • Nice. Picked up a few beater earphones, some batteries for my car remote and a GoPro pole!

  • Sony MDR-ZX110NC Noise Cancelling Headphones looks like a good buy. Approx $80 on eBay.

  • I needed a cheap cover for my iphone until the good cover arrives! Thanks OP!

I don't understand the point of posting almost the website's entire catalog as a deal. You may argue that the OP did hard work in putting all the list together and why can't I go through the list to find what I need. First of all we don't need another copy of DS website posted on OzBargain. And if I know what I need I will go to DS website and search why go through the list.

    • +4

Going by the votes some members like it, so where's the harm?

      • Votes don't always tell the truth. Many people vote for the effort put in preparing the list. The harm is people may start posting the entire eBay catalog during a 20% off sale. My point is a deal should be specific with information on what is the regular price of the item(s) and what is the saving. Posting all the items with discount % isn't a deal because we all know the RRPs are no where close to reality.

    • +3

Well then it really is no worse as someone saying "10% off clothes in Target" and just linking the website. How else is the OP supposed to show the discounted items any other way other than a list? Instead of searching the website you can use the list; it's just as quick. There actually are a few good deals if you're willing to look through the list. I've made well over a thousand flipping items from the last 2 "almost everything is on sale" lists.

      • -1

Do you think all the 3000 items in that list are bargains? Most of them are their regular prices. Instead of posting 3000 items if the OP filtered out the best bargains and posted 300 items that would save time for everyone going through the entire list.

        • +2

But that's like having an issue with 10% off eBay and listing the site. Would you be upset at this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/197741? There are a million items on the site, its up to you to find the bargain. Same thing wih this list. OP essentially gave access to the items on sale and its up to you to find the bargain.

        • @BlazinPast: That sale is different. There is a fixed amount of return on spend over some amount irrespective of the item you purchase. Do you think people start posting the all the items prices less discount during DS's regular $10 off $50 or $25 off $100 sales.

I am not here to argue on this. I appreciate the time people spend here to help others. I am just pointing out that the effort should be put in filtering out the best bargains than preparing a copy of the entire catalog.

I don't think the OP typed every item out, copy and paste job.

      • It is not about the Journey, but the result!

  • +2

I'll just wait for tomorrow's sale.

    • if u miss that one, u can jump on FRI's sale…

  • Thanks OP. Picked up a TOS link cable (optical cable) for cheaper than eBay.

  • It'd be great if the poster could please sort the items according to those that are a super bargain, those that are a pretty good bargain, those that are just a plain old bargain and mark the rest as not really a bargain at all.

Of course, there is the chance that some people who would see those deemed as not really a bargain are in fact are a super bargain and view the super bargains as no bargain at all.

In light of this, it would be better if the poster could create several lists, seeking to satisfy every conceivable bargain hunter and what they may or may not consider to be a bargain, as they peruse this site looking for bargains.

Until that happens, there will always be people who complain.

    • +1

Those who don't complain and do what you suggested will snap up the bargain.

Those who wait for others to do this won't get any. You snooze you lose.

  • Need to buy sdxc card.. Can anyone suggest where to buy from?

  • any video games up for sale?

Has anyone had the problem of not being able to return goods to Dick Smith for a change of mind. I know that they're within their rights. Surely it would be preferable to buy from other retailers who allow change of mind.
It is for this reason that I'll never ever buy from Dick Smith again

  • For those who are looking for a good bargin here is a good tip to help you skim through the list.
    1) Sort by descending discount percentage. High values at the top.
    2) Now scroll down and watch the column with the new price. Look for things of a value between $10-$40+
    3) Quickly glance at the item, if you dont like it move on.

I found a "4-Way HDMI 3D CEC Switch Box with Remote" for $33 quite quickly, and as for local stores with that kind of stock, it is reasonable.

Edit: another good deal is the Kingray 2 way indoor tv amplifier for $18. Normaly $55 or $50 at jaycar.

  • I have an Eneloop-related question: Should i buy two 4-packs of Eneloop Pro for ~$28 http://goo.gl/wZ9bxP or this 8-pack of old made-in-Japan pink Eneloops from Ebay for ~$30 http://goo.gl/gzaMol …or wait for a better deal?

I know that the rouge's have been slightly cheaper in the past but I just bought some as I needed them and I have been watching the price lately around $39.. $21 is not too..bad. • SO tempted to get ink for my printer. But I don't know if it will come down even more. Is Dick Smith going broke? Or is their strategy to always have sales to entice (and annoy) people?

  • +2

I pooh-poohed the list earlier, then upon revisiting it spent ~$100 on various cables, power boards, and phone accessories. Have an upvote
