  • Awesome, thanks TA!

  • good effort with the locations TA!

  • For ppl in Brisbane, the website says stocks available in Browns Plains as of 14:09, good luck!

All gone in SA, except Gilles Plains.

OW are usually pretty slow with online stock levels, so I wouldn't expect to see it there either. :-(

i find stuff by looking at the 'capping stock' ie above where it should be… Ive found some gems before.

For people in WA, do not waste your time. None of the store have any stock.

    • +2

      Sure Broden, nice try.

    • on the website it says Malaga, WA store has stock. Don't know for sure though

      • +1

        Tried rang around, believe me.

  • Vermont South, VIC has stock. Unfortunately it's out of my way. Nowhere else between Nunawading and Camberwell has stock.

  • Taren Point, NSW may have some. Fairy Meadow does not.

  • I'm about 10 minutes drive from browns plains does anyone know if they do actually have this in stock tho?

  • None at browns plains

    • on the phone to double check

Okay guys stop calling browns plains! haha they don't have any.. well they had limited qty the guy said and they gave the remaining stock to charity

      • I was at the store. I doubt they have given to charity, that's a good excuse for not having stock. There is no stock at any of the nearby stores and computer readings were out for other stores. Going to get last ones at another store now. Assume none left in Brisbane.

      • Lol charity another excuse!!

    • They told me one of the staff members put the item as "gifts" on the computer and they were sold/given away under the "gift" code, not the real PLU, that's why its still showing stock…

    Hmm…..Local OW store seems to have some stock…….Drive there 15min each way… spend $5 in fuel…Buy something that I don't really need….Still tempting…

    • Call them and get them to put one aside for you. Normally they give you 24hrs to pick up, but they're fairly flexible.

  • Shhh. Don't everybody, they will be OzBargained before I get there.

  • none at east vic park(WA)

  • Penrith Officeworks has some available.

  • Forget Bundoora, they had a box of 20. Store staff grabbed most of them. I convinced them to give me two. All gone.

    • Yea i called. They went oh $1!!. No we don't have anymore……

  • +2

None left at Windsor Qld, apparently someone Brodened the last 8 packs this afternoon.

  • Wentworthville NSW - All gone

  • Couldn't see any any at Glebe.

  • Forget Subiaco. I went there and they said someone had put their entire stock on hold via the phone. I suggested that perhaps they might consider removing their stock value so others didn't as i did, come in based on the online stock level.
Their answer was that they have stock. I said if you have stock then sell me one. They are on hold was the response. I suggested as they were unavailable perhaps they might rethink advertising as having stock. No as we have stock was the response, but its on hold so we can't sell it to you.
I gave up on this circular logic fest and suggested they have a good day.
Office works doesn't appear to have a complaints dept to ring or at least I couldn't find it whilst online on my ph.
They lost me as a customer.

    • http://www.officeworks.com.au/contact-us This might be the best avenue for you to either call or make a comment online.

      • Thanks for the heads up.
Actually I'm over it. Theres no shortage of places to spend my money. Office works just gets bumped to the bottom of the list.
I didn't mind that they were sold out, I did feel that they should fix the stock levels to reflect that non were available.
        Its not a biggie.

Sorry but I don't think you're being super fair. I don't work at OW, but I used to work IT in a store that had a similar set up.

If the item is on hold, they can't change the stock value as per the online system unless it actually goes through the cash register and it is sold. The system will then update the database to reflect the sold value of the stock. They are tied together and can't be changed as far as I know. If the item is on hold, it is not sold, therefore, the stock level cannot in any way be altered by a team member. Doing so would give them big trouble come tax time, as their inventory levels would be all over the place. And usually the inventory system is completely automated— I doubt any retail store has access to the online system at all. Stock is stock until it is bought.

Another reason why they don't do this: If for example the person doesn't come in to buy the items, and they altered the stock levels, then the items are effectively missing. Nobody would remember to mark them as 'in-stock' again. You wouldn't believe the amount of times people don't collect holds. I'd say about 50% of the time, they don't bother. Thats a lot of stock missing. For the same reason, this is why places show stock when items are stolen.

You can complain about it, but they're never going to alter stock value for hold items.

Their hold policy is what it is. This is what you should have looked into and what you should be mad about. You're better off complaining about their hold policy that lets people put the entire amount of clearance items on hold. That shouldn't be allowed. There should be a limit, both on the number of items and time they're allowed to keep them aside. Moreover, they should have offered you dibs if the person didn't come back in the specified time, depending on what they actually allow.

Anyway I'm not trying to be mean and I hope I don't get negs. I'm just trying to explain why it is what it is.

      • All good.
        Thanks for the explanation.

For me the bottom line is I was frustrated by my Office Works experience.
I'd have not sweated it if they had told me "we just sold out".

As for unfair, they're not really going to suffer.
They aren't a go-to for me anyway and the only reason I'd go to them would be having heard about a decent special on something I might want.
I was thinking about grabbing these for my sisters kids and maybe grabbing some ink cartridges and printer paper whilst I was there.

Most of my office type needs are met by my local Woolworths at great prices and within walking distance to my home.

Yeah your right, its the hold policy that has caused the issue.
Maybe they need an "on hold" box on their online stock level page?

They still go to the bottom of my go-to list and I'm even more unlikely to visit them now.

  • Twelve left in stock in Greenway ACT. They were keeping them in a box that was up high, so you may need to ask for them.

    • Hi, I went there yesterday, and lady told me all gone to charity! can you tell me where is that box (in perticular isle/ in front section? where?) I need 2 for my niece.

      • Same aisle that the other Texta sets are in, the shelf is on the opposite side from where the other sets are, top shelf. I bought ten sets from them this morning, there were twelve left in the box.

  • For those in Sydney…

North Ryde and West Ryde have both sold out.
Apparently some lady rang and asked for 25 to be placed on hold at West Ryde and they did this for her? O_O

As of 7:30am this morning though, Hornsby had 50 apparently.

    Cheers.

    • 25! Probably a teacher of some sort

  • Says out of stock at Adelaide street brisbane city, Milton, Wooloongabba, Windsor, Virginia, oxley, Browns Plains, Garbo, Underwood.

  • SA Gilles Plains - All on hold (got told to come back tomorrow, in case someone did not collect)
