Little side note

To all ozbargainers, please be as kind as you can to all Big W staff. Can you imagine them searching for each game in the draw then when they go put it in the cases, they go back to their register and see another 5+ people waiting in line just to do it all again with the next customer? You got some others who aren't interested in the deal (like people who have to get their digital photos printed) and some of them may get impatient. This causes big stress for both the staff member and the customer. Please praise them for their efforts as thats the least we can all contribute.

    No consoles…I pushed the guys behind the counter to let me know if there were any out the back..a quick no with not a lot of eye contact..

    Hot tip to everyone

    Be as nice as possible to all the staff. They will be the difference between finding that hard to find stuff or being told "out of stock". I watched a few people be rude to them, i was as nice as possible and one lady even came and helped me find stuff.

    Just went into big w Richmond and was told "It's part of an online scam" by an employee and then the manager told me "the system was hacked" he flat out refused to honour the $3 price it scanned at.

          Update: Went back in this afternoon spoke with the a different manager, possibly the rudest I've ever dealt with in my life, she practically abused me for trying to buy 1 game. I questioned, if indeed these was a "scam or hacked system" why other stores were selling these games for $3 as I have friends who have purchased them and she said "Those stores are doing the WRONG THING." complete with flailing hand gestures. Then offered to take my details "just in case we decide to sell them for $3"

          Going back in later tonight to see if maybe I can score some of the accessories for $3 instead, considering I won't need to be going to the entertainment counter for them. At this point Richmond, NSW have removed all $3 games from the shelves.

          Rouse Hill I read got emptied out yesterday. Blacktown at 9 am nothing. So I am guessing Big W around that area is probably not worth trying.

          I was at Winston Hills midday and Rouse 3pm today. I wouldn't say Rouse was completely cleaned out.

          Ended up spending quite a bit. Lots of skylander bundles I intend to give away to friends and as birthday gifts etc. A ton of mostly xbox 360 games too, with a couple of Wii and a PS2 thrown in for good measure. The unexpected bonus was a couple of the packs with Kinect Sport and Carinval games had 3mths xbox live so I ended up with 6 months by accident. I wasted some money (2x$2) on the wii speak mics because I assumed they're would be PC drivers.

          I did buy multiple copies of some games but genuinely intend to give away not sell (starting with stuff already in a bag for a mate tomorrow). Even toyed with the idea of using skylander starter packs as thank you gifts instead of party bags for my son's birthday party but the headaches it would cause because some kids don't have consoles or I didn't have right quantity for their console 86'd that idea.

    Big W North Lakes has some great deals - lots of $3 games, no consoles from what I could tell.

    Don't bother with Morayfield - same games are $40.

    Might try elsewhere - I've got the day off.

    More copies left 3-5 each and they had a few other games too - not just in the games section.

    There was a fair few pokemon 2ds sets in morwell,vic this morning. They didn't have the a sign to say it was reduced :(

    There was tons of skylanders gear, wii fit, ipad covers and tons of crap 360/ps3 games left.

    Someone did manage to get a red ps3 controller for cheap.

    The staff were really helpful and polite until off duty staff came and grabbed everything remotely worth grabbing and appeared to hide it away

    There was no chance of getting anything decent during this clear out, most decent things went when the games and that were $10

    Was at Carindale (QLD) this morning, probably 4-5 other OzBargainers chilling outside, waiting for it to begin! Wasn't terribly much there, didn't look at the XBONE games but I managed to get a PS4 game, 4 Wii U games, Skylanders for PS4 and Wii U and some Skylander/Infinity figurines. Pretty happy for $30! Lots of 360/Wii/PS3 games left but the 6 or so 2DS bundles were bought.

    Funnily enough, I asked them to check the 3DS XL prices and they scanned the Silver and Blue. As I was walking out, I heard multiple staff say 'The red one scanned at $3, the others didn't". Was with a friend so didn't go back, they were definitely talking about the 3DS :P

    No issues or dramas which was good! Everyone was helpful and friendly :D

      I was also at Carindale this morning, probably one of the 4 who got there at 8:30. I managed to get one of the 2DS bundles and 4 xbox one games. They didn't really have that much we had to go digging through the shelves. I went back in the afternoon and the red 3DS XL was still there so I asked them to scan it but it still scanned at full price.

      I agree everyone was very friendly and the staff were helpful :D

    Went to Miranda this morning didn't get many games but the guy was super helpful he walked around with me scanning everything, got Apple smart covers for $3, Bluetooth speakers, sound seats, all up I got 30 items for $90 probably close to $1000 worth of stuff so I'm happy,

    Big W in the A.C.T. had no PS4 or Xboxone games at 9.30am. They had around five copies of The Stick Of Truth and Deadrising on Xbox360 for $3.

    I picked up some Skylanders for $1 each for my nephews so I was happy.

    Got to Box Hill this morning with a friend, had a few people in front of me but managed to grab a nice loot! That group in front were infamous, definitely grabbing stuff to trade in : \ multiple copies of things. The staff were very helpful and very calm about the whole situation which were great. Did see a guy (potential staff member offshift have a trolley waiting with two 360's). Box Hill is left with left over scraps now, if anyone was wondering.

    Was first in at Kwinana at 8am, met a couple of other Ozbargainers. Place was virtually cleaned out except for a table with a few Skylanders boxes and Xbox 360 Battlefields and various iPad covers etc. The young lass said it was all cleared out yesterday. She was very helpful and rang Armadale, Warnbro and Spearwood and asked if they had any consoles. Nada. There were three or four Pokemon X and Y 2DS bundles in the shelves that scanned through for $50 and I picked one up.

    No consoles at Karrinyup WA. A few copies of 360 Games (NBA, GoW etc.) and a few bits and pieces for Wii. Nothing for XBox 1.

    All pretty casual down there - spoke to one other OzB dude, and the staff - they said the sale started at midday yesterday, and there were no consoles left today - hinting that staff got them yesterday.

    One bloke came running in all flustered - staff gave him the usual spiel.

    Went to Eastgardens. They were scanning games and throwing them in a trolly to be put in the drop zone box.

    Not much there - No consoles at all (from what I was told). Picked up a 3DS game… If you want COD Ghosts, they had plenty for X360 and one for PS4.

    There were 2 x Skylanders, 1 x Disney Infinity, and a stack of shitty 3DS games when I left.

        due to all the fuss there was a bunch of people working the electronics desk that weren't in electronics normally. The consoles came in from the offsite store room about 9:30 and didn't even make it to the shelf i dont reckon haha. For the record, i bought one and left 2.

          @shazmo: just the 3 consoles. They were all quite dusty and the cardboard sleeve thingys were ripped and they mentioned they were only out the back due to not having space in the cabinet. Apparently they have certain things that head office instruct that they always have to have on lockdown.

    Arrived at 8.30 at Blacktown store. Had a few Xbox One games and ps3/x360/Wii/3ds games in the drop zone section. Also had 2 skylander storage sets and >8 ps3 skylander sets. Only one PS vita, got snapped up by a guy in front. Had about 7 Pokemon 2ds bundles which all sold. Only had 2 Xbone Titanfall bundles, and was lucky to get one. Staff had no idea about the sale and nothing was marked. Had to rely on the self service scanners for price :)
