Noticed this deal as part of CameraPro's EOFY sale that drb pointed out here.

Seriously good price for this full-frame mirrorless lens considering it's Australian stock and yet is even cheaper than grey imports (that won't offer you Sony manufacturer warranties in Australia). Here's the lens on Static Ice. Ted's has it for $1,800!

Free in-store pickup. Shipping starts at $10. I added it to my cart and Courier Air Express 1-2 day shipping to Adelaide was $17.50.

I already have this lens myself for my A7II and it's an excellent performer! Check out my flickr for some recent samples.

EDIT:
$1303 also for Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS Lens.

  • Really good price for local stock :)

  • +1
  • Nice photos.. I see you're a Zeiss fan..

    • Thanks! Currently only have Sony-Zeiss lenses, the 55mm and 16-35mm, and both are a joy. The new Batis 85mm f1.8 might be my first pure Zeiss, if my wallet doesn't commit suicide first.

  • I am waiting for Zeiss Batis 85/1.8 or FE90/2.8 Macro.

    Good price for this lens.

  • I own Sony NEX & Nikon DSLR. NEX is smaller lighter, Nikon is bigger and heavier. However, when you start to use larger lenses, the extra weight and size of the camera becomes less significant. At this point, the price point of the lens becomes more significant. The extra cost of a mirro less lens start to make less sense to use mirror less camera.s

    • I have to agree with this somewhat. I have full frame canon with a few red rings for the last few years. Just recently got the Sony A6000 but cant bring myself to buy any native glass for it.The kit zoom is pretty good unless you go pixel peeping. My 6D has been sleeping in my hotel rooms while the A6000 hasnt left my side for the last two weeks. Will get an adapter when i get home and wait for he A7III with with 54mp and better AF than canon with canon glass.

      • I thought i'd only stick to the kit lens until a friend let me borrow the 35mm 1.8, i bought it that day after playing with it. Just try it out.

      • Double posted

  • Great price & size. Considering if I should get this for the A7R than getting the EF70-200mm F4L IS for the 5D III. Just gotta get used to the EVF.

    • In my fully biased opinion, I think you should go for the FE since it also comes with a tripod collar and, at least according to DxO, outclasses the Canon f4 by quite a bit.
