  • Price needs to be in title

  • Price in title please.

  • +1

I would suggest ONLY in title as well, "Official Raspberry Pi 2/B+ Case Only"

Price is good however most starter kits include a case.

  • That's cheap for a Raspberry Pi 2!

    • Case only :)

    • That's NOT cheap for a Raspberry Pi 2 CASE!

  • Is this just the case? Raspberry pi I believe cost more than $30. Please confirm.

    • only case. Just saw it. lol

    • Hi guys,

Thanks for all your feedback- we have now made changes to the listing to hopefully make it clearer. Please note that this listing is for the case only.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      • Thanks for stopping by also.

      • my case arrived with a big crack on the side. I couldn't be stuffed sending it back. wasnt too noticeable anyway. it is a cheapie case for a cheapie price. but it'll protect the rpi….

edit. oops. looks like this is a newer designed case they are promoting. my cracked one aint that.

  • +1

TheRegister have reviewed the case and have positive comments. I like the design, but wish it had an easy mount for a camera.

  • Free shipping code not working for me:

    All Items Total: $10.50
    Basic Delivery: $12.95
    GST: $2.34
    Total: $25.80

    • Hi there The Toastcutter,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Please note that your order summary will still show the shipping charges. However, you will receive another email in your inbox- this is our order acknowledgement email. This should show you your order with the shipping charges removed. If you do receive the order acknowledgement email with the shipping charges still included, please let us know and we will try to chase this up for you as soon as possible.

      Hope this helps!

  • this is the error when putting the code.

"You have entered a value in the highlighted fields below that contain invalid characters. Please revise your selection using valid characters only."

    • Yep, same error here.

    • Hi there j03,

Please ensure that you are entering the special code into our Special Instructions box during checkout. This is not the same as the voucher code space.

The Special Instructions box appears at the very bottom of the screen when you click 'checkout' within the basket screen.

      Hope this helps!

      • no its not working. even if i put that code on that special instruction (other), total is $25.80. I think your instruction is too special for me. I'll just persist with this cracked one till I buy more rpi in the coming. week

        • Hi there j03,

          Thanks for letting us know.

Please note that although you may see the shipping charges within your order summary, it is removed upon despatch so you will not be charged for the shipping charges.

If you do see the shipping charges on your invoice, please let us know and we'll chase this up for you as soon as possible.

          Thanks again.

        • @element14aus:

so does that mean element14 manually do CC transactions?

btw - i did put in the order so hopefully you correct the invoice without the shipping charge.. more importantly. not charge my CC the shipping ;)

  • I made an order on Saturday, am I expected to see it tomorrow?

    • Never mind, received the order at 6pm. Raspberry Pi also made in the UK, so an extra bonus.

  • +3

can you do a special with a raspberry pi?

  • +13

No deal if you can wait a few days.

Case is $1.95 cheaper at RS components.
    http://au.rs-online.com/web/p/development-board-enclosures/8…

Not currently in stock but will be from this Friday. RS has free courier shipping for all orders, not only special orders or orders over $45 like Element14.
    Case @ RS = $8.80 + GST = $9.60
    $11.55 at Element14
    Save $1.95.

By the way, if you need a Raspberry Pi 2 as well, it is cheaper at RS components ($43.18 + GST) compared to Element14 ($44.29 + GST).
Again with free shipping at RS.
And also in stock (5 days delivery time), no stock at Element14. Those things sell out very quickly.

I order regularly from both places (for work) and both are reputable businesses.

Note that their listed prices on website DO NOT include GST.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm in no rush, so ordered some from RS Components :)

    • Just put my RS order in for two cases. Maybe I should have ordered my Pi2 from there instead of E14 about a month ago. My PiB+ came from RS though.

    • Thanks.

The RS website is also a much better experience than element14 (their site seriously sucks).

    • Hi guys,

Just a heads up if you were interested in a Raspberry Pi 2, we do have them in stock! Check them out here.

    • Just got an email regarding the back order of the cases from RS saying change of delivery date, and it is now "New delivery date: 07/08/2015"

That's a bit sad. So much wait now. Glad I already have cases that I'm just replacing, so I'm not needing to run naked until then.

edit: the website itself is saying in stock for delivery within 5 working days :-S

  • So, OP, are we mere mortals allowed buy from you?

If we actually try to buy an RPi from you we're told to go away to a "approved resellers". (BTW, RS-Components don't appear on your list, but do appear quite happy to sell them)

That's strange, I bought one for myself from element14 a few weeks back no problems.

    • +1

I have bought single RPi's from element14 before. No problems.

    • +1

Go register. Login. Order and pay. Ignore that link.

      • -1

Yeah, I understand we can ignore their 'warning', but this notice pretty much says that they don't want my business (however small it may be - I will probably buy a few RPis more [I currently have 4], but not from them).

Yet, despite their anti-consumer notice, they appear happy to come here and spruik the new case.

  • +2

Personally, I will avoid element14. Bought a Raspberry Pi 2 B from them along with a case, and they sent me a wrong case which was for Pi. I called them, they said they need to verify and will call me back for a resolution. I called them again a few days later as they didn't call me, they asked me to send them pictures of the case and they will contact me for a resolution. A few days later, I called them again for the resolution, they said they've refunded me for the case. I requested them to send me the correct case instead of a refund, they said the best they can do is to refund me and I buy the correct case on their website (I have to pay for the shipping again). After a few weeks, I checked my bank statement, I didn't see the refund. I called them, they said the refund had been done, and emailed me a credit note as a proof of refund. I have to call them again and threat them I will call the bank to charge back for the whole order, then they promised me I will receive the refund within three days. For a $10 case, I believe they could have handled it more professional.

    • Well its making me rethink about element14.

They did charge me $25.80 both invoice and credit card despite having this "Special Instruction", direct correspondence with the OP and reassurance the shipping will be removed. They'd better refund it back rather than give credit notes! Already annoyed about getting a cracked RPI2 case.

      • Hi there j03,

Would you be able to provide me with your order reference number? I'll investigate this for you immediately.

        Thanks.

        • All sorted now. Thanks.

  • Ordered, put $0SHIPPING in the special instructions, hopefully they will not charge me $25.

    • I have been charged $11.55 - so it's all good

  • On ebay a generic case is 3 dollars delivered.

    • +1

The $3 generic case will take a while to be delivered from Hong Kong / China. Secondly, the build quality is very poor. One drop, and it smashes. I've had a few of these, and all thrown in the bin after a small drop. Don't waste your coin.

  • The offer has expired and the price is now reduced from $11.55 to $10.5. Am I missing anything? Was the price in US$?

    • Price is not reduced but rather that is the price ex GST. Add 10% and you'll get $11.55. Also, free shipping is likely not to apply now as that was the main part of the deal.

    • Got an email this morning (after mine was delivered), it's now $9.24 (assuming ex-tax) so $10.17 inc. NOT including shipping though. Probably to compete with RS Components price.

      • Yeah, same. Add $12 for shipping and it's not anywhere near RS Components. My rPi cases from RS are due to arrive on Monday.
