  • opinions any1? I am considering it as a cheap source for TV on laptop connected to house antenna

  • stay away from cheap tv tuners, get a decent one for a couple of dollars more.

If you dont run vista or win7 then the software that is included will make a big difference.

This looks like a rip off to me although othrs have found usefull

    • I've paid about the same price on Dealextreme for similar style item and have been happy with mine. Works well with Media Centre and TV Scheduler Pro (free).

This version actually looks better than the I one I got as it accepts normal RF cable for antenna. I had to get an adapter for mine.

    • I second to that. Stick with brand name to save you the hassle with driver instability issues.

  • I recently bought one from umart… leadtek and it works totally fine, receiving all channels as long as you avoid using it's so call high gain antenna and plug it into the wall antenna~

I would say Take that set top box… rather spending 200-300 bucks for a set top box that can record some free view tv show. I have managed to buy a simple usb tv dongle for 39 dollars… only down side is you will have to turn on your laptop when you want to watch tv.

If you are looking for more functions, I would suggest getting a tv card, so you can hook it up with vcrs, dvds and cam cords and other stuff~ and its around the same price too lol

  • I would really think DX's WandTV is better… and it does accept normal RF cable for antenna.

Seriously I have a brand-name Asus model and the ebay/dx cheapo goes way better and is compatible with Win 7 where the Asus fails Vista.
