      (germ free) high five!

      • high five. Yay

  • We use to use handwash, but been reading up on the health effects of it.

So it's back to good old fashion soap (Dove) for our family.

I'll tell "Big Soap" that you're onto them!

Regular soap does make a mess of the basins and creates the soap scum in the shower. Some people do think they get a better wash with a cake of soap though.

    • Can you share these 'health effects' please? I use hand wash..

I can't find the exact article, but it was something like this.

I should state it's anti-baterial hand wash that isn't good for you and your family long term (vast majority of handwash is anti-baterial).

Rubbing hands with soap and warm water gets rid of the vast % of germs and bacteria on your hands.

No question that anti-baterial hand wash will even do a better job of getting more germs and bacteria. However, we don't live in a germ free world and having some germs on your hands isn't going to hurt you in any way, actually to the contrary, having some will help your immune system stay strong.

It's a bit like taking anti-biotics when you aren't sick, all it does is make you resistant to anti-biotics.

Furthermore, anti-baterial hand wash really dries out your skin. In the past, people just used soap and scrubbed their hands, it was just as effective then as is it today.

I, myself for my young family try to use natural products that clean well, but not clinically well.. so that means using vinegar/eucalyptus oil etc to clean the floors/kitchen/bathroom/clothes, no need to get rid of every single germ/bacteria, get rid of enough of it so no one in your family gets sick. This keeps our immune system healthy.

When you send your kids to childcare, they WILL get sick and it will help them build their immune system agains germs/viruses not just in their homes but general population, so by the time they start school, they are less likely to miss school due to illness. The kids that never went to childcare, they will get sick in prep.

Anyway, I'm not a greenie or adverse to vaccinating my kids… but what I read makes sense to me, no need to go overboard with hygiene as our bodies are full of good and bad bacteria.

Correct as far as I know.

Still I guess you are diluting soap hundreds of times with water, adding a thickening agent to make it seem like not mostly water, adding a tiny amount of scent and disinfectant to kill germs which were doing no harm at all and selling it. So your customers will probably ignore the small inconvenience of lowering their own immune system.

Let's not get onto anti-bacterial clothes detergent, I mean that is another level of stupid.

i wish Woolworth's didnt pay their web developers half price, their web site is a disgrace

  • How much profit is Woolworths make a year????????
The new Woolworths website is worst than the small café website.

  • Can these be diluted to use in foaming handwash? Did Anyone try?

    • So you want to add a handwash to another handwash? Be careful I heard that can cause accidental explosions!

      • lolz.. not another handwash - but handwash bottle!

  • still happy with the little $2ish each Dettol brand from ChemistWarehouse, at least it does not dry my skin

  • Sweet. Need more of these for the home. BRB Gonna buy a crate full.
