Dick Smith 54.5 Inch DLED Non-Smart TV $649 Click and Collect @ DSE eBay

30

Dick Smith brand 54.5 inch TV for $649. Qualifies for the July $50 eBay voucher, making it even better. I bought one of these and the picture looks nice with the salesman telling me that they use the same panels as Samsung. The only downside is that it is only 50Hz, but for a TV this size, it is still very cheap.

Bought this for $509 two weeks or so ago with the royal90 code.

      What's the overall quality like?

      • I bought it for someone else. Mainly used for video via USB. Picture quality is fine for a $500 tv.

These tvs fluctuate so much in price. Was about to buy at 599 when the royal90 code came up to knock it down to 509. I'd recommend holding off until you see it cheaper if you can.

      • I'm watching one right now and overall the picture quality is quite good. I recently bought one for about $450 and found that games and dvds or blu ray is where this tv reallly shines. With regard to sound it's fair to say that it's quite ordinary…..tooth ache ordinary, but if you can snap one up at the $500 or less price mark I'd say go for it.

        • Got one about 6 months ago expecting it to be rubbish, but it's fine for a main TV. Only thing 'wrong' with it (and it's not really that bad) is the black levels in night scenes, they're not that black. More dark grey, but it's a minor issue for that price bracket.

    • It was $463 or $453 with cash back:)

  • Maybe wait for the unconfirmed 20% off ebay deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/199852

    • Fair enough. I just wasn't sure if they would put the price back up to $800 which would bring it down to $640 which isn't as good as $649 + a $50 eBay voucher.

  • "Non-Smart" is dumb.. ohh wait..yea it is… literally.

Wow! You figured that out all by yourself

  • Just pointing out it doesn't have to be smart, you'll hook it up with your device of choice - let it be apple tv, chromecast, mac/pc directly. You will never use its potential limited smart features anyway.

It doesn't have to be smart but, the T.V.s that have better PQ i.e. the more expensive ones come with it standard.

  • How does this compare to the CHANGHONG TVs?

They both are similar in price.
