  • Seems to be quite expensive — what makes me want to choose you guys than anyone else on GlobalSwitch?

  • expensive?

    prices seem fine to me..

    edit: except for Bandwidth.

    • this depends on whether the VPS is fully managed (by virtualblades) or not. If it is full server management it is a pretty good deal apart from the included traffic which is a joke. You might want to look up there excess data costs. There post paid data is quite expensive already.

  • Strange promotion here - a B to B product. Which business would be considering switching at the busiest time of year and how many businesses are here at OzB looking to buy things?

Hope you havent spent lots on advertising this, if so you might want to save by looking at your marketing costs including the salary of the person who thought this up.

  • Hi Guys,

    Thanks for your comments,

Ospete - If you actually read through you will notice that this offers, as well as the example and prices given are for individuals (B2C). We do, however that we also have a range of B2B offers available on our website, but as you rightly mentioned, it would be pointless advertising those on OzB.

Scotty - as mentioned to by braidN, If you look around, you will find that our prices are actually competitive. Having said that, it is a very valid point that you make that more and more providers are offering VPS and that it is not always easy to differentiate them!

Your comment allows me to briefly underline what differentiates us form many of our competitors:

We are not a reseller depending on an infrastructure we cannot fully control. We are also not a web hosting business doing virtual servers “on the side”.
We are a Virtual Solution Provider and VPS are our only focus, which allows us to have a much more professional approach to our client´s need, and to understand them better. This also means that we have a lot more time to spend on our infrastructure, ensuring it´s availability and security. For example, we do not use HyperVM while most competitors still do, putting their client´s information at risk… Most likely because they do not have time and money to spend on their VPS infrastructure, which is fair enough because it is not their main business.

I’ve escalated your comments around the bandwidth to my boss. I’ll keep you informed.

    Cheers,

    • Mark — Thanks for the clarification. Those statements are what a shopper is looking for. Hosting market is mess and consumers need more information to be able to differentiate one provider from the other. And I am saying that as someone who also runs VPSAU.com whom you have recently posted your offer there :) (although I am now passing the domain to someone else to manage as I don't have time looking after it)

Okay. The price is comparable but yes the included traffic is a bit lacking…

  • Hi Guys,

I’m please to let you know that we’ve reviewed the traffic included in our plan, and the pricing of the prepaid/post paid traffic.
Virtual Blades uses two main WAN links, each redundant, plus an additional back up link. That’s 5 WAN links in total, each provided by different companies.

    Cheers,
    Mark
