GIVEME25

Seems like once for a change, Dick Smith have a coupon code running at the same time the WeMo bulbs are on sale. Not quite as cheap as the $97 deal a few months back, but still not a bad deal and the cheapest current price. $179 at JB HIFI and Myer. Plenty of click and colect stock.

Please be aware that as soon as I logged in, the discount code was no longer valid. Try using PayPal checkout if the price goes back up after logging in.

It'll be one expensive bulb change if these blow out.

    • well you could always go back to what you had…

    • LEDs don't blow out

        they just fizzle out…

        • Haha why do I see so much neg on JV's comments?

    • $59 at RRP each replacement bulb. (They were $49 before the $$ dropped).

I can just see it now, after someone's house who has these gets broken into they'd be saying to the police, "they only stole the lightbulbs"!!

What's so special about these ?

You can turn them on and off with a phone or tablet.

I would go with Philips Hue over WeMo bulbs…better third party support.

Hue has white only bulbs on Amazon for USD$20 but they aren't suited to 240V. Hopefully they will sell them here in the future at less than the $70 colour bulbs.

    • Apple is offering Hue starter packs and bulbs only which are 220v too in the Australian store….

      • Yes bloody expensive though. In fact I see the price is now $289.95 when it was $250 previously.

This stuff should get cheaper over time not more expensive grrr

Why can't they just manufacture a screw in socket with smart functions so that we can change only the bulb if it blows out. Maybe i should start a Kickstarter project.

  • "With a life expectancy of up to 23 years (based on 3 hours of daily usage), these may be the last light bulbs you ever buy."

Sounds creepy "may be the last light bulbs you ever buy"

I'll still be in my 50's in 23 yrs time.
Better get life insurance with these bulbs.
